The Integrity Commission arrests 12 suspects accused of trespassing on state-owned properties in Nineveh.

{Local: Al Furat News} The Federal Integrity Commission announced the implementation of arrest operations against 12 suspects for trespassing on state-owned properties in Nineveh, turning them into parking lots, and collecting sums of money from citizens in illegal ways.

 

 The Integrity Commission indicated in a statement received by {Euphrates News} a copy of it that its staff in the Nineveh Investigation Directorate monitored some people encroaching on 8 state-owned plots of land near the Traffic Directorate in the governorate center and using them as parking lots, and collecting sums of money from citizens who visited without obtaining official approvals, as the team was able to arrest 12 accused who exploited those lands in order to achieve personal benefits at the expense of the public interest.

She explained that formal arrest reports were prepared for the operations that were carried out based on a judicial warrant, and that they were presented, along with the arrested defendants, to the investigating judge specialised in examining integrity cases, who decided to detain them, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 154 of 2001.
