REMEMBER, no one really knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... So, take everything with a grain of salt ... RON

6-4-2025  Pimpy  Just because you have a 25,000 note and all of a sudden they change the exchange rate to go with the new notes that doesn't mean you get to bring in your old 25,000 dinar and go, 'Aha, I want the new exchange rate...' They're going to go, 'No. We're going to take your zeros off and then multiply whatever the new rate it.'  That's what they're going to do. Don't get excited about having the old notes if they do introduce new notes.  What we want to see happen is them to increase the exchange rate and not touch the notes, leave them the way they are with the zeros on there.  That's what you want if you any hope whatsoever of making a lot of money.:violin:

6-4-2025  Clare  Article "Experts: Liberation from the rentier economy occurs through modern banking." Quote "Banking, academic, and legal experts predict that Iraq is on the path to a radical banking transformation that will transform the national economy from its dependence on oil to a diversified and sustainable capital market.":twothumbs:

it has to be coming their ISX is struggling, without a rate change it is impossible for the iSX and banking system to survive....as i have said the ISX and banking system, and remember Banking stocks dominate the ISX in trade but with a shite stock price and shite ER they cant thrive...They are key to fiscal space needed...

The old & new Notes will co-exist together for a while according to Dr. Shabibi.

Wimpy Pimpy is such a debbie downer if you are daft enough to believe every thing he claims.

@Luigi1.. totally agree. if they are going to use the large notes in interbanking they need to co exist and keep there face value. Yeah they are going digital but I don't believe they will not still have physical cash. Advanced western countries are digital and still use physical cash
