REMEMBER, no one really knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... So, take everything with a grain of salt ... RON 

 

 

5-7-2025  Frank26  We have learned once again that Alaq has admitted from last year that they are lifting the value from the currency by removing the zeros from their exchange rate.  He admitted it to the citizens and to the world that they are lifting the 3-zeros and adding purchasing power to the currency.  Will it be this year or next year?  I believe it will be this year...I  don't know...but it is now a fact of Iraq's life that they are lifting the 3-zeros from their exchange rate to add value to their currency.

 

5-7-2025  Fnu Lnu  They have one shot to pull this off and I assure you they will not squander it...We will have an RV but the entirety of the geo-political world are in a tizzy and it is not going to get better for a while. If Trump is as  smart as people believe him to be, he will successfully rearrange the global markets and pull a reset almost unimaginable. It's about time someone had the huevos to do what has been needing to be done for most of my rather long life.  

 

5-7-2025  Militia Man  It's not the central bank's job to tell you when a revaluation is going to happen.  They're  not going to tell you what rate it's going to be.  There could be indicators...Let them do what they do.  The cool part is we can  see they are moving towards a digitalization of the government, borders and what they talked about launching, a digital dinar.  And  we have the IMF talking about them using dinar in foreign transfers.  Let that sink in.

Rate is $5.41 (PSA on all cell phones)'? "  I asked my guy’s and they said no PSA.  My work phone has an Iraqi number (Zain) and I didn’t receive this PSA either.

 

5-7-2025  Frank26  When this blessing occurs, walk to a bank, don't run...Take your time. Look things over. Study the situation. Don't rush to a bank to exchange right away.

 

5-7-2025  Kaperoni   Article: "The United Nations and 18 countries meet with the Iraqi banking sector to discuss banking relations at the headquarters of the Association of Private Banks."  We are slowly watching Iraq stand up on their own two feet. The article includes a meeting with UNAMI, the Central Bank of Iraq and 18 foreign governments is welcomed.

 

5-7-2025  [Boots-On-The-Ground] Maxis  The “Facts” are that anyone claiming to have contacts inside of any organization, ie the CBI, GOI, IMF, WTO, BIS or any Ministry does not. Anyone in the know in any of these organizations can not and do not talk to anyone outside of the organizations. Many of these meetings take place in the compound that I work due to the fact that we have one of the only facilities large enough to facilitate these meetings. I have personally asked many of these diplomats at our DFAC or Green Bean after their meetings how things went and occasionally what was discussed. They all say the same things “watch the news”, and everyone needs to remember that 90% of the media outlets here are owned and or run by the Pro Iranian Maliki group...

It is not part of the dialogue. As major and life altering as it is, if it were a topic of current import, they would have been discussing it. These meetings are completely transparent. There are no secret meetings.

That's powerful and it's impressive. They're talking specifically about cross border trade, foreign trade, with the Iraqi dinar.

5-7-2025  Frank26  [Iraq boots-on-the-ground report] FIREFLY: Mr Sammy said the month of May is going to bring answers to the international card issue and you're going to get that answer on June 1st.  You also know the 5% [black market] should be done by June 1st and all transfers will be away from the black market so hold on tight.
