Senate Confirms Doug Collins to Fix ‘Broken’ Veterans Affairs Department

The Senate confirmed former Rep. Doug Collins’ (R-GA) nomination as Secretary of Veterans Affairs Tuesday afternoon, giving President Donald Trump his tenth confirmed Cabinet member.

Collins, who served in Congress from 2013 to 2021, was confirmed overwhelmingly by a 77 to 23 vote.

All 53 Republican supported Collins, with 24 Democrats – a majority by a lone vote – supporting him as well.

Collins gained national attention as chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee. He remained a top Trump ally after leaving Congress.

“Doug is a Veteran himself, who currently serves our Nation as a Chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve Command, and fought for our Country in the Iraq War,” Trump said in November when nominating Collins. “We must take care of our brave men and women in uniform, and Doug will be a great advocate for our Active Duty Servicemembers, Veterans, and Military Families to ensure they have the support they need.”

USDA REMOVES climate change propaganda from websites amid federal spending review

In a move that has reignited debates over federal priorities and corporate narratives, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has instructed its employees to scrub references to climate change from agency websites. The directive, issued Thursday and confirmed by an internal email obtained by POLITICO, calls for the removal or archiving of landing pages and content related to climate change narratives.

This action comes as federal funding for clean energy and agriculture programs hangs in the balance, with the Trump administration pushing to halt wasteful spending from disastrous legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act. The decision echoes similar efforts during the first Trump administration to dismiss the climate change agenda, aggravating climate change activists and climate profiteers who were looking to cash in from the weaponization of science to promote corporate climate narratives.

Key points:

  • USDA employees were ordered to delete or archive web pages discussing climate change and document all related content for review.
  • The directive could impact dozens of programs, including climate-smart agriculture initiatives and wildfire management resources.
  • The move coincides with a federal spending review that threatens funding for clean energy and conservation programs.
  • Critics, often left-leaning activists and green energy millionaires, argue the decision undermines efforts to address climate-related challenges facing farmers, such as extreme weather and wildfires.
  • These critics cannot manage natural disasters in their own communities, as evidence by the out-of-control fires in Los Angeles.
  • Climate change pushers cannot be taken seriously to cure the world of natural disasters, if they cannot manage a natural disaster in their own cities.

Trump’s tariff threats yield results: Mexico to deploy 10,000 troops to secure border

Mexico has agreed to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to combat the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigration, in exchange for a one-month delay on the tariffs threatened by President Trump.

The deal, announced by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Monday, underscores the effectiveness of Trump's hardline approach to border security, a stark contrast to the Biden administration's open borders policy that put national security in jeopardy.

Trump's strategy proves effective

President Trump To Sign Executive Order To Keep Men Out Of Women’s Sports

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Wednesday to keep men out of women’s sports, two people with knowledge of the signing shared with The Daily Wire.

The president will sign the executive action at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, surrounded by advocates who have fought against gender ideology and for the preservation of women’s spaces. It is not immediately clear whether that order will focus on K-12 sports, collegiate sports, or a broad ban on men competing as trans-identifying females in women’s sports.

SCOOP: Tomorrow, Donald Trump will sign an executive order on keeping men out of women’s sports, @realDailyWire has learned.

Pam Bondi to Order Full Investigation Into the Garbage Legal Cases Brought Against President Trump - ‘Hush Money’

image.png.5bc94002d09da71e467253dc4640534f.png

From CNN:

Attorney General Pam Bondi is expected to order a review of the cases brought against President Donald Trump, including those undertaken by prosecutors in New York who successfully defeated him in court.

Sworn in at the White House on Wednesday, Bondi intends to issue a series of memos aimed at curbing the so-called weaponization of the Justice Department, a source familiar with her plans told CNN.

She will order the review of criminal and civil cases against Trump, including the two federal cases brought by the Biden Justice Department, and issue a warning to employees that serving their own personal politics as opposed to the Trump administration would be punished.
