Walkingstick  Auctions are now only needed for the government of Iraq because oil sales in USDs are done in USD. Then they are converted to IQDs because they are phasing out the dollar.  This equals phasing out the auctions.  Everyone will only use the IQD in Iraq.

Something don't add up, here...

If Iraqi Oil is purchased in USD & they stop the auctions...what are they going to do with all the USD they will amass?

 

Buying more gold, maybe...to prop up the RV-RI.   Something to ponder on.

Golden age for USD…backed by energy and gold…they will keep usd in reserves…

It all goes to International trade as the world trades in USD for the time being.

That's about to change under BRICS as the USD becomes less irrevelent.

A few months back, Iraq told the US, they'd now longer be receiving USD as payment. They'd be moving to IQD. Moving forward, you're right Betty, there's less needs for countries to use USD. Furthermore, most large oil producing countries are BRICS nations. I'm do believe once Iraq revalues...they'll move with BRICS too. Just my two cents

Some of this may be true to a degree. However, the US is about to become a major player in the world market and dominate oil and gas again. Countries will want to do business with the US, even the BRICS countries. They will have to use the USD for that.
