I invested all my retirement and savings into family ventures. Broke. Living on Social security, if that's what you want to call living. Iraq has tons of gold and oil in reserves. US dollar .. well.. we all know that story. IQD, my hope is to live long enough to "live".

I am not so sure you should bury the USD just yet. Russia is at war, China's economy is in the crapper, Brazil is nothing to emulate with their economy. The point is they may want to get rid of the USD, but, as my Dad use to say "shiite in one hand and want in the other and see which fills up first"! The USD may be losing some of its dominance but it sure isn't dead.

Totally agree with Fr8dawg. Russia; an oligarchy. China; communist. Brazil would be emulating the USA were Bolsonaro still in office, but with Lula they are leaning towards a totalitarian state. In short, not much of an economic threat from the that three of Brics. India, in my opinion, is the free market powerhouse that COULD rival the West. That all being said, even if the wannabe marxists here at home get elected and our house and senate continue on the spending like there is no end to the dollar supply - and the dollar loses value, I think the Iraq CB would allow the dinar to unpeg from the inflated mess here and we would see the dinar rise as a result.

Just like we are wary against pumpers and so-called gurus of the IQD we must be as vigilante when it comes to the USD. They have been saying the USD will go by the wayside fory a very long. This played out in the 1970's when the Earth was "cooling" and gas lines were two miles long in some places and the US had higher inflation than today. So as to quote the Manchurian candidate in charge... Just like the Climate hoax...

I agree US has huge amounts of gold, etc. However, will the politicians in charge allow for the USD to reinstate the gold backing. Unfortunately, I think not. In my opinion. Time will tell.

We haven't heard much in these last seven and a half years, but there WAS fairly encouraging talk in the second Obama term by State Attorneys General of convening a Convention of States to introduce legislation (including constitutional amendments) that simply will not be brought to a vote by Congress. Term limits, balanced budget, etc. Things that would limit powers of the House and Senate, and even the executive branch. The swamp will not drain itself. Have faith, even if it looks bleakest.

I truly hope pray that you will get realise your dream. With the War escalating  in the ME at the moment and the death,destruction and chaos in every other part of the world I have given up on expecting that I will benefit from any expected increase in the IQD.

I wish for a one time RV only whether it is going to be a low or high rate, I will get out and never look back. Noone can predict and knows when the war is going to end peacefully in the middle east.

I get exactly where your coming from ole son. My own humor and sarcasm helps alleviate the pain, discomfort, disappointment, stupidity...I could probably add many more adjectives.
