Shafaq News/ Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin announced the launch of the "de-dollarization" process, stressing that sooner or later, the dominance enjoyed by this currency is on its way to disappearing.

 

 

In response to a question about when Russia will be able to completely get rid of the dollar and how this will affect the US position on the international level, Pankin said: "This process has started, it is a trend, and this is popular."

 

He said, "Of course, the position of the dollar is strong in the global economy, of course, there are a number of dependencies. The dollar is not just a financial tool. Rather, US policy reinforces it with other types of dependencies, and a network of relations in the military-political and economic field, and so on."

 

He added, "Now many countries are getting stronger and tougher, and therefore, there is more confidence in their currencies. I don't know if the dollar will disappear like this."

 

"I recently read and saw this table somewhere, which used to dominate. Once upon a time, the Dutch guilder, the Portuguese escudo dominated - moreover, for 80 years, 100 years, the pound sterling ... the dollar is not "The first currency in the world that has been dominant for a long time. And I don't assume calculating the age of the dollar. But every dominant currency has its life."
