here's an article from around Dinarland...

House agrees to delay the 2023 Budget.

Treat as a rumor.  Not verified.  Your opine.

From other sources in Dinarland:

ARTICLE:  The Parliamentary Legal Committee Announced Today, Wednesday, That The House of Representatives Will Enter The Legislative Recess At The End Of Next Week.  While indicating that the extension of the legislative term is linked to the arrival of the general budget law to the Parliament.   Committee member Raed Al-Maliki told Shafaq News agency, “The first legislative year of the parliament will end at the end of next week & that the Parliament will enjoy its legislative recess for a period of 30 days.”

He added, “Parliament may extend the legislative term, again in the event that the general budget law for the year 2023 reaches the Parliament,” stressing that “the extension of the legislative term is linked to the arrival of the budget to Parliament.”   The Presidency of the House of Representatives decided, on November 8, 2022, to extend the 2nd legislative term of the first legislative year of the fifth electoral session, by one month, while independent MP Hussein Al-Sabri explained that “the purpose of extending the legislative term is to pass the important laws on the Parliament’s agenda,

Wow who doesn't like enjoying the 30 days holiday WITH getting PAID? Everytime they can't finish the job done ( budget, etc ) on time, they always take a long holiday as an excuse. They always care about themselves, including their cronies. Do they care about rv'ing the IQD? Hmm......

Now they are talking about another delay on the Budget vote after Jan 2023 lapses.  Even if they do vote in early 2023, it will take weeks to do the readings & to get Gazette published into law.  Iraq is very good at passing laws yet cannot implement them once they are passed.  Iraq has passed laws on the books going back to 2012 that have never been implemented into action.  Such laws still sit idle after getting warehoused.

here's another article related to the above...Maliki was playing hardball with the 2023 Budget delays...now he's making it appear he's cooperating to get the 2023 Budget done...

Bond Lady's Corner  via  Tlm724:

ARTICLE:  Al-Maliki Mortgages The Adoption Of The Oil & Gas Law In This Matter.
A member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Durgham al-Maliki, pledged, Thursday, to pass the oil & gas law to achieve a “political consensus.”   Al-Maliki told Mawazine News, “If political & regional consensus is achieved between the region, the central government & the political parties, the law can be legislated & amended in one week,” noting that “the law has been in place for more than one parliamentary session & has not been amended.”

He continued, “These controversial laws have a political aspect & they cannot be implemented unless a political settlement takes place,” going on to say, “If political consensus is not achieved, the committee will work on it & include it for the purpose of voting, but it will not pass & that political consensus is more important than Committee work.

This is iraq. Nothing is surprising. They only care about themselves and for the benefit of corrupted iraqi government officials.  They like to talk talk talk about deleting 3 zeros , yet they can't implement for almost 19 years. How many more years do we have to wait for them to rv the dinar? Hmmm..well , that would be anyone's guess.
