The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makheef, inaugurated on Wednesday the branch of the International Development Bank in the United Arab Emirates/Dubai.

In a statement on the sidelines of the opening, he said: "We are happy and proud to see one of our banks take a position within the UAE banking sector after gaining the confidence of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates."

"The event is important on which we build hopes that our banks will partner with this vibrant sector in the sister country," he said.

He wished the bank, its management and employees continued progress and payment.

Today, Wednesday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Mokhif, inaugurated the branch of the International Development Bank of Iraq in the UAE.

A statement by the bank, received by Al-Oula News, said that "the governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, inaugurated the branch of the International Development Bank of Iraq in the United Arab Emirates / Dubai." 

Mokhif affirmed: “We feel happy and proud when we see one of our banks occupying a position within the UAE banking sector after obtaining the confidence of the Central Bank of the UAE, which is an important event on which we build our hopes for our banks’ participation with this vibrant sector in the sister country.”

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, it was announced today the opening of the first branch of the International Development Bank in the Emirates of Dubai, as one of the best Iraqi private banks.
The UAE website said today and followed by Noon Agency that this cooperation comes as a step to consolidate the distinguished strategic economic relations between the Republic of Iraq and the United Arab Emirates, where the volume of trade exchange between the two countries during recent years reached more than 16 billion US dollars, with an annual growth rate of 6%.
This came in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, a selection of businessmen, investors and representatives of the Iraqi Embassy and Consulate in the UAE.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Mustafa Ghaleb, inaugurated on Wednesday the first branch of the International Development Bank (IDB) of Iraq in Dubai, UAE, according to the CBI statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

“We feel happy and proud when we see one of our banks occupying a position within the UAE banking sector after obtaining the confidence of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates,” Ghaleb stated.

“It is an important event on which we build our hopes for the participation of our banks in this vibrant sector in the UAE,” Ghaleb added.

The inauguration of the new branch took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy in the United Arab Emirates as the bank is considered one of the best Iraqi private banks with a capital of 250 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately 171.17 million USD).

The opening of the new branch represents a step forward to strengthen the strategic economic relations between Iraq and the UAE, where the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in recent years reached more than 16 billion USD, with an annual growth rate of six percent.

The bank seeks to be an economic bridge that opens up prospects for greater economic cooperation between the two countries by strengthening joint economic relations in various sectors, such energy, health, industry, agriculture, services, in addition to the tourism and housing sectors

The Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, confirmed that the bank was keen to support the "Development Bank" and facilitate the procedures for opening the bank's branch in the Emirate of Dubai.

Ghaleb told Al-Eqtisad News that the Development Bank "opened branches inside Iraq and spread to almost all provinces, and worked to provide international requirements and standards to launch to the regional region, and its first step was the UAE."

Ghaleb added, "We were keen to support this bank and facilitate all procedures for it and we communicated with the Central Bank of the UAE who were keen with us to provide these requirements and complete the original procedures to open this branch."

He continued, "We were keen as the management of the Central Bank of Iraq to attend the opening of this branch as the first bank from the private sector to open a branch outside Iraq to strengthen economic relations between the two countries."

The Independent/- Economic circles have blessed the opening of a branch of the International Development Bank in Dubai, considering it a positive step on the path to developing the financial sector in Iraq.

A member of the Baghdad Economic Forum Jassem Al-Aradi described the opening of the Development Bank branch as an important step in being closely involved with international banks, given that Dubai hosts the best banks in the region and the world, pointing out that this friction adds something new to the performance of the Iraqi banking sector through the best representative of the Development Bank International.

At the time, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb, praised the efforts of the International Development Bank, and blessed the opening of the bank's branch in Dubai

Ghaleb pointed out that it is an important step, as a private Iraqi bank occupies an important position within the UAE and Iraqi banking sector after obtaining the confidence of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.

A ceremony was organized on this occasion, attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Arab Banks, the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, the ambassadors of countries accredited to the state, the Iraqi embassy, and a large number of Iraqi and foreign businessmen and investors at all levels.
