Special - Mawazine News
Today, Friday, political analyst Jabbar al-Mashhadani expected that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, would give the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia al-Sudani a six-month opportunity to define the features of his government.

Al-Mashhadani said in an exclusive interview with Mawazine News, "The assignment of Al-Sudani is not considered any blow to the Sadrist movement, because Al-Sadr has a reform project, and therefore if the Sudanese government contains a reformist side, it is certain that Al-Sadr will support it, but if it is proven otherwise, and the government was formed on the basis of Sectarian quotas following the approach of previous governments and contradicting the approach of al-Sadr, so he will be the first to object."

And he indicated that "we do not rule out that if the Sudanese government and Sadr's reform project do not fit in, he will resort to the street," noting that there is a great possibility that Sadr will give the Sudanese a six-month opportunity to get acquainted with the form of the government.

He continued, "The government should not be partisan or on the basis of sectarian quotas, and commitment to the cause of the experimenter is not tempted, and the opportunity for talent is given." Ended 29 / M 99

Mysterious options for the Sadrist movement after assigning Al-Sudani to form the Iraqi government

Assigning Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to form the Iraqi government (Reuters)

After the Iraqi parliament voted on the new President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, and assigning the pro-Iranian "Coordination Framework for Shiite Forces" candidate, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, to form the next government, questions are increasing about what will follow that step of an escalating movement, both at the level of the Sadrist movement in particular, as well as the rest of the forces opposed to influence. Iranian in the country.

All scenarios seem open during the next stage. While observers believe that the coming period may witness a wide protest movement, another spectrum believes that the means of escalation may not be limited to demonstrations and may witness many forms that may reach the limits of direct confrontation.

Silence raises questions

Mystery surrounds the possible steps of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who announced his retirement from interfering in political affairs at the beginning of last September, after the bloody clashes that took place at the end of August 2022, between the "Peace Brigades" of the Sadrist movement and militias loyal to Iran on the doorstep of the region. government green.
In addition to al-Sadr's retirement, the leadership atmosphere within the Sadrist movement also did not show any clear interaction with the political developments that took place, which makes all possibilities open during the next stage.

Perhaps what is likely to escalate the rejectionist attitudes of the Sadrist movement’s audience is its repeated announcement during the past months that it refused to assign Al-Sudani on more than one occasion, especially since the latter belongs to the “State of Law” bloc headed by Nuri al-Maliki, who is close to Tehran, who is one of the most prominent opponents of the Sadrist movement on Iraqi arena.

Observers believe that the next escalation will not be limited to the area of protest only, but will also enter new phases in several forms that may reach the limits of armed clashes, similar to what happened during the last period.

A new cycle of tensions

On the other hand, observers believe that any future protests or escalating movements by the Sadrist movement may not need direct guidance from the movement's leader Muqtada al-Sadr, and that the popular bases of the movement may move in an indirect context as a result of the changes that took place on the political scene that eventually led to the resignation The "Sadr bloc" deputies, and the coordinating framework was able to reach power after losing the elections.

Many questions revolve around al-Sadr's silence or his silence about the presidential election session, and whether it represents part of his retirement from political work, as the head of the "Kalwadha" Center for Studies, Basil Hussein, believes that the possibilities are open and his silence may represent a surrender to the fait accompli, but on the other hand, he may surprise Everyone is making moves that put the stick in the wheel of forming a government at any moment.

Hussein adds that forming a government without understanding with al-Sadr will "make it in constant anxiety and in a state of instability," noting that this matter will make the next government "revolve in a cycle of continuing tensions even if the Sadrist movement does not present a direct escalation."

The beginning of a wider struggle

In conjunction with the possibility that the Sadrist movement will lead an escalating campaign against the Sudanese mandate, the Iraqi uprising forces and the so-called “October forces” reject this assignment, especially with their continued accusations of militias affiliated with the “coordinating framework” of being directly responsible for the killing of about 800 demonstrators and tens of thousands of wounded during The October 2019 protests, as well as the militias’ continuous accusations of dozens of assassinations of prominent activists.

The head of the Iraqi-Australian Center for Research, Ahmed Al-Yasiri, says that the political atmosphere in Iraq is still turbulent, despite the feeling of the "coordinating framework" forces euphoria of victory after what happened today, pointing out that the assignment of Al-Sudani represents only "the beginning of a conflict that has not yet been resolved."

He adds to "The Independent Arabia" that the next stage and the options for the "coordinating framework" in it will determine the features of the Sadrist movement's movements, and if the framework insists on passing Al-Sudani as prime minister, "the door will definitely open to a wide protest movement that will not be limited to the popular bases of the Sadrist movement, but rather It will include all the atmospheres that reject Iranian influence."

The area of escalation does not seem limited to the protest options, according to al-Yasiri, who indicates that "all options are open to the Sadrist movement, and this is what complicates the next stage."

Despite the frustration that prevails in the atmosphere of activists against Iranian influence, as well as the popular rules of the Sadrist movement, al-Yasiri believes that "the current's absence from the power equation this time will give it more momentum among the protests, and may redraw the features of the relationship between them and the rest of the protest parties."

He believes that the announcement of the leader of the Sadrist movement that he is retiring from political work, which the atmosphere close to Tehran may consider as a gain, in fact represents "the greatest danger that will face the forces of the framework in the next stage," adding that the absence of al-Sadr from the scene represents an explicit threat to these forces that any future escalation is important. His form would not be subject to a leadership that can negotiate with or put pressure on them to reach settlements."

He notes that al-Sadr's retirement step represented "a deliberate political act, as it will absolve himself of responsibility for any escalation in the coming period, and will also contribute to building new partnerships between the Sadrist movement's followers and all opponents of Iranian influence in the country."

The collapse of the political system

The possibilities of armed escalation do not seem excluded in the coming period, especially with the series of events that took place during the past period, including assassinations and armed conflicts between elements affiliated with the Sadrist movement on the one hand and pro-Iranian militias in Basra Governorate, or the events that preceded it in the government’s Green Zone.

Political science professor Haitham Al-Hiti believes that assigning Al-Sudani and resolving the presidencies file "cannot be described as a victory for the coordination framework," pointing out that it would represent "the stage of the beginning of the rapid collapse of not only the framework, but perhaps the political system in its current form."
Al-Hiti is likely that the next government will be the most fragile government since the American invasion, especially with the great popular anger against Tehran's allies, whether what happened in the October uprising or the complex problems that followed with the Sadrist movement, indicating that the Sudanese government "will collapse as soon as it is formed and will not be able to get anything done."

The expected scenarios during the next stage, according to Al-Hiti's expression, vary between "a further deepening of the conflict between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework that may turn into an armed conflict, and the possibilities of the Iraqi situation erupting through protests, perhaps even greater than what happened in October 2019".

Al-Hiti believes that the conflict areas in the current stage will be "open and wide", especially with Tehran's allies in Iraq bypassing "all the requirements of the Sadrist movement to resolve the crisis," noting that what happened today does not represent the end of the political crisis, but rather a "stage of no return."

The pro-Iranian parties may rely on al-Sadr’s retirement from political action in resolving the crisis, but the problem is not related to al-Sadr alone, as al-Haiti expresses, “Al-Sadr’s exit from interfering in the political space does not mean the silence of the current’s audience,” suggesting that spontaneous movements will occur by the supporters of the movement. Al-Sadr to protest the theft of the election results and turn them into a win for a losing party.

He concludes that the formation of the coordination framework for the next government comes in light of the Sadrist movement's suppression of the October protests, which represents "a wrong attempt that will lead to a larger explosion that may be the main pavement for a massive revolution, perhaps even greater than what happened in October 2019".

'The corrupt will not participate' .. The Sadrist movement's media commented on the issue of withdrawal from Parliament

Baghdad - people

The Sadrist movement’s media responded, on Friday, regarding the analyzes circulating about the Sadrist bloc’s withdrawal from Parliament, and whether it was a mistake or a proper procedure, after Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani was assigned to form the new government.

A member of the media office, Muhammad Al-Aboudi, said in a blog post entitled "Hass Al-Haq" followed by "Nass" (October 14, 2022): "We often hear these days from politicians, analysts, or from the public saying, that the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc from Parliament was By mistake, suicide, haste, and the like. Of course, this is according to the materialistic view and not according to Mr. Al-Sadr's account, and that is why the answer must be short."

Al-Aboudi added, "I ask you by God, who would accept Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr to be a partner of the corrupt, vassal and quota parties in a fleeting government? Will God accept that for him? Will the people accept it? And will history have mercy on him? If I say no, then he has implemented God's law. And the will of his people, and whoever was with God and his people would be spared from error and loss!?

And he continued, "Those who consider it a strategic mistake, we consider it a historic step, because it revealed many faces, whether from the inside or the outside, and whether from the people of religion or politics, and even from the "traders" of the demonstrations and the claimant of independence.

And he stated, “Who would think that it is a matter of urgency because the current will not get anything from the “cake”. His answer: Did the current go out for a worldly gain or a political ambition…?! ".

And he added, "Didn't everyone preform against him that he is a partner in the quotas and corrupt parties..?! So now he is before God and before you ascetic in everything, and this is a veil that Iraqi history will remember with pride, that Mr. Al-Sadr and for the sake of his country and his people sacrificed everything, unlike the claimant "Shiism" "Others have coveted what he forsakes for the sake of their personal and partisan interests and the orders of their masters."

He pointed out that "whoever says that withdrawal is political suicide, because it gave the corrupt a chance to exploit it!" His answer: For a whole year he wanted to support 220 deputies in order to save his country and people with a national government. Before the last early elections until the Ashura revolution, there were those who were negligent or skeptical, and those who remained spectators until they said, “These are your problems for the sake of positions, not for the sake of the country.”

And he explained, “And whoever says that the Sadrist bloc was supposed to remain for the last moment and not withdraw, we say in his answer: We ask you in your conscience, if al-Sadr sought for years, would you be patient with him or bear him the consequences of procrastination, and in the case of Iraq’s most extreme opponents, how many would say to single out power for himself.. And how many will say all this for the sake of positions..! And how many slogans to bring down this government will be raised..!

He concluded by saying, "Now that the truth has been established, no one, whoever he is, has the right to open his mouth to complain in the future if what the reformer warned about occurred, and whoever asks about the future is for good and reform as long as Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr is present."

Iraq: The Sadrist movement announces its refusal to participate in the next government, two days after the election of a new president

Two days after the election of a new president for Iraq that ended a political paralysis that lasted more than a year, Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr announced on Saturday his refusal to participate in the next government, which threatens to postpone reaching a solution to the stalemate in the country. While the coordination framework, which has the largest number of representatives in Parliament, seeks to speed up the political process, the Sadrist movement, whose leader has the ability to mobilize tens of thousands of supporters, announced his refusal to participate in the next government.

It seems that the efforts of the political parties in Iraq to accelerate the political process after a year of paralysis and division by electing a new president for the country and moving forward in the path of overcoming the stalemate will collide with the position of the Sadrist movement that rejects these steps. His political framework refused to participate in the next government.

A year after the early legislative elections, the Iraqi parliament on Thursday elected the 78-year-old settlement candidate, Abdul Latif Rashid, as President of the Republic, who in turn assigned Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to form a new government for the country.

Al-Sudani was nominated for this position by the coordination framework, which includes several blocs, including the State of Law led by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and the Al-Fateh bloc, which represents the popular crowd factions loyal to Iran.

In a statement posted on social media, Saleh spoke of the existence of "undisguised efforts to satisfy the current and silence the voice of the nation," referring to media statements and experts who talk about the possibility of proposing ministerial positions on the Sadrist movement.

"In the midst of forming a coalition government of proven dependency that did not and will not meet the aspirations of the people ... after the efforts to form a national majority government were thwarted ... we stress our categorical, clear and frank rejection of the participation of any of our affiliates ... in this government formation that he heads," Saleh said. The current candidate or other old or affiliated faces of the corrupt and their authority.”

He added, "Anyone who participates in its ministries with them unjustly, aggression and disobedience for any reason does not represent us at all, but we are acquitted of him until the Day of Judgment and he is considered immediately expelled from us (the Sadr family)."

The new taxpayer has 30 days from the day he was assigned to propose the new government formation. In a speech on Thursday night, Al-Sudani expressed his "full readiness to cooperate with all political forces and societal components, whether represented in the House of Representatives or those active in the national space."

At the heart of the crisis during the past months was the dispute between the two major Shiite camps: the Sadrist movement on the one hand, and the coordination framework on the other.

The nomination of the coordination framework of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani in the summer constituted a spark that ignited tension between the framework and the Sadrist movement, whose supporters staged a sit-in in front of Parliament for about a month.

The tension reached its climax on August 29, when thirty of his supporters were killed in clashes inside the Green Zone with forces from the army and the Popular Mobilization, which are Shiite armed factions loyal to Iran and affiliated with the state apparatus.

You can't step down, create a vacuum, then come back and make demands when it doesn't go the way you like. Sadr weakened his position and his movement and the Iranian puppets are happy to fill the void. But I could care less at this point hoping they are finally going to raise the value of the dinar. God knows these dolts have had almost two decades to do it, and all they did was steal from their own people and prop themselves up. So stop crying and lay in the bed you made Sadr. Let someone else try for a change.

Maybe they can do what you have wasted almost twenty years not doing.

Agreed Keylime, what I’m missing is why Iran would want to strengthen the Iraqi Dinar.
Oh, I hope they do but just don’t know their endgame.
Could it be by strengthening the Dinar it would be more profitable in the black market smuggling of their currency?

certainly with sanctions against them and their money it would benefit them to have the dinar up in value using it as a sideways hedge of protection.

Based on the premise that Iran holds a bunch of IQD;

This could be an additional way for Iran to skirt the sanctions and funnel the US $$$, the Euro or ?? into their economy via the RV of the IQD ?

One question I have is; why didn't Iran play this card when Maliki and or the other stooges where in power ?

Personally, I don't think the Iranian currency has much international financial appeal.

Just sayin'

One question I have is; why didn't Iran play this card when Maliki and or the other stooges where in power ?

Personally, I don't think the Iranian currency has much international financial appeal.

Just sayin'

I think because of factions against Iran they never had the throttle at full in the past. Now the door swings wide open, especially in the Biden era, which we know, along with Obama, catered to this evil regime, giving them billions of dollars on pallets in the middle of the night.

In a statement posted on social media, Saleh spoke of the existence of “unhidden efforts to satisfy the current and silence the voice of the nation,” referring to media statements and experts who talk about the possibility of proposing ministerial positions on the Sadrist movement.

"In the midst of forming a coalition government of proven dependency that did not and will not meet the aspirations of the people ... after the efforts to form a national majority government were thwarted ... we stress our categorical, clear and frank rejection of the participation of any of our affiliates ... in this government formation headed by the current candidate or other faces," Saleh said. old or belonging to the corrupt and their authority.”

He added, "Anyone who participates in their ministries with them unjustly, aggression and disobedience for any reason does not represent us at all, but we are acquitted of him until the Day of Judgment and he is considered immediately expelled from us (the Al-Sadr family)."

The new taxpayer has 30 days from the day he was assigned to propose the new government formation. In a speech on Thursday night, Al-Sudani expressed his "full readiness to cooperate with all political forces and societal components, whether represented in the House of Representatives or those active in the national space."

At the heart of the crisis during the past months was the dispute between the two major Shiite camps: the Sadrist movement on the one hand, and the coordinating framework on the other.

The nomination of the coordinating framework of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in the summer constituted a spark that ignited tension between the framework and the Sadrist movement, whose supporters staged a sit-in in front of Parliament for about a month.

The tension reached its climax on August 29, when thirty of his supporters were killed in clashes inside the Green Zone with forces from the army and the Popular Mobilization, which are Shiite armed factions loyal to Iran and affiliated with the state apparatus.

I'm wondering if the Sadr deputies that resigned, was accepted Inappropriate, then State of Law selected replacement illegally from it own party. Which you think they have to be voted on by the people, unless the loser, took those seats. One good thing is the Federal Court has taken this matter on, will see how that plays out. If they are deemed unconstitutional accepted and needed parliament approval or another glitch. This whole New President and New PM was done illegally from the get...which calls for parliament to be dissolved, due to Sadr, which was what he hope for, don't believe Sadr just step down, he actually had more votes, and won the majority but Mr. Potato head called in other bloc, which override the system...I don't know wishful thinking.

I hope you’re right yota but the whole world is giving Iraq high fives and congratulations for their new government.
Maliki and Iran has pressed forward with forming the government ever since Al Sadr gave up.
I’m thinking with all the influence Iran has with the Iraqi federal courts this could be pushed back for a long time.
It’s hard for me to believe that we’re gonna wake up in the next few months and Iraq under the guidance of Iran is gonna change the Dinar exchange rate to match the dollar…

The biggest victory of the Sadrist movement is its withdrawal from the corrupt government of losers...

The Sadrists have their confidence in their leader as Malik al-Shtar trusts Imam Ali, and it is certain that no one knows Mr.   Shefker, but he said that the son of a Da’i and Mr. Shahid will not rule over us. This is the government that was formed. I mentioned it in one of his sermons. In the past tweets, it is clear that a master has something planned, worries that the country is not in the hands of subordination and his servants and his people, God willing, on the approach of Muhammad al-Sadr, they are walking, and God is the success

I have not seen like the Iranian Senaiwat that they say disturbing things to the Iraqi people by spreading sedition so that they make the Iraqis become convinced like the Iranian people. You have slandered us, disobeyed the demands of the people, and blamed the Lord.

The coordination framework will get the Ministry of the Interior, National Security, Intelligence and the National Security Adviser with the Popular Mobilization, in addition to the presidency of the government.. All these positions will be obtained thanks to the withdrawal of 73 Sadrist MPs from Parliament.
