ronscarpa
Remember, no one really knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... RON *** Samson Article: "The central bank reveals a new denomination of the currency and is working on issuing a digital one" Quote: "the Governor of the Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, said, We are working on a new currency, a category of 20 thousand dinars...We will start announcing the new category after completing its requirements...He stressed that there is no intention to reduce or change the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar." 1

Will Iraq declare our IQD a dead currency as it launches the new? I'm fairly sure the article IS genuine, but Iraq will not declare our IQD as dead currency as it launches the new - for a number of reasons. 1st: it was declared that the older IQD would coexist with the new LDs (Lower Denominations). 2nd: when they issued the 50,000 IQD notes there was no change. Also when they removed the 50 IQD notes people had several months to exchange them. 3rd: the IQD we hold is the currency of a soverign nation, and if they were going to change the currency significantly there would be a designated time frame to exchange the notes for any newer notes, as has been done in the past. Iraq's natural resources would support a significantly higher rate than at present. That's a good reason to increase the value of the iQD.
