Central Bank: We are preparing to issue a new Iraqi currency and this is our position on the deletion of zeros

1002717-9bd4e90c-01be-4bfa-b54a-6badf2fc
Baghdad /Nina/ The Central Bank revealed the timing of the issuance of a new monetary denomination of the Iraqi currency, while disclosing its position on the deletion of zeros and digital currency.
The governor of the central link Mustafa Ghaleb, in press statements on Tuesday, followed by the Iraqi National News Agency, said, "We have reduced the interest rate on loans provided to finance projects in the initiatives of the Central Bank," noting that " the initiatives have targeted the housing sector, which employs more than 30 orphans in various sectors.”

He added, "The Central Bank has a special team that has been working for more than a year on the issuance of the digital currency, and so far we do not have a specific date for the issuance of such a currency," noting that the process of deleting zeros requires the issuance of a law, and a draft law has been prepared to do so and sent to the previous government, but now it requires an amendment, and there is a necessary need to create an appropriate political atmosphere within the House of Representatives to issue such legislationwhere the atmosphere must be provided socially, economically and locally to accept such modifications."

On the possibility of issuing a new currency, the Governor of the Central Bank said, "We are currently working on the design of a new coin of 20,000 dinars , after a series of practical studies to unify the Iraqi currency, and will be launched to announce it after the completion of its future printing.”
On the change of the exchange rate, the Governor of the Central Bank explained, "The process of changing the exchange rate in 2021 obliged the Central Bank to take that decision in the light of a number of circumstances in consultation with international bodies, including the World Bank and the Monetary Fund, which have already proposed this since 2014."
He added, "The bank did not take this decision and the circumstances did not help us then, but the decision personally believed that it came late and there are those who asked to change the price to the top of that," noting that "the change of the exchange rate since the decision was taken, provided the government with more than 23.5 trillion dinars as well as oil and non-oil revenues, " stressing that "currently there is no intention of the central bank to change the exchange rate." /End5

"currentlythere is no intention of the central bank to change the exchange rate."

Option 1: This article is BS. They’re just trying to scare currency speculators.

Option 2: This article is Real. Forget about the dinar revaluation in the near future.

50/50 Chance.

Currently...so what. In the coming days, soon, just around the corner, hope, seek, anticipate, expect et.al.

These people commit to nothing and throw these words around like folks chucking Halloween candy at trick or treaters.

I trust absolutely nothing these people say... nearly 20 years in this investment & still waiting for these clowns to make good.

Today, Tuesday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb, said that the bank is working on issuing the digital currency to keep pace with the development of monetary transactions in the region and the world, stressing that deleting zeros from the local currency requires a calm economic atmosphere for that.

Makheef said during his hosting at the Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue, that “until now, there is no specific orientation, dates and controls for issuing digital currency in the country,” adding, “But we are working during the coming period on these controls to keep pace with the countries of the region and reduce the practice of dealing with cash through the issuance of this digital currency.” “.

And about deleting zeros from the local Iraqi currency, the central bank governor said, “The process of deleting zeros requires the issuance of a law, and a draft law in this area has been prepared by the Central Bank and was submitted to the previous government.”

He explained that this law needs amendments, stressing that the issuance of this law requires an atmosphere because the deletion of zeros is directly related to the economy and to market prices in the country.

With regard to the Central Bank’s issuance of a new denomination of the local currency, he said, “We are working to issue a new denomination of 20 thousand dinars in order to keep pace with the requirements and to match the neighboring countries,” adding that “we will begin announcing the new denomination after completing its requirements.”

With regard to the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, the governor of the Central Bank confirmed that “there is no intention to reduce or change the dollar exchange rate.”

Here's a new one..." Coming period "

" Calm economic atmosphere "

And the rest is the same ole rhetoric word salad stuff: no intentions so on & so forth. More stalling, sand bagging & foot dragging.

What they're really up to is anyone's guess. They're not in the least bit interested in the people's welfare. This is a criminal enterprise & protests don't matter, the dead don't matter. What does matter is the continuation of the status quo.

The stalemate in seating the government could last a very long time and the present " government " is weak & ineffective. Iraq remains stagnant with no end in site.

Just checked and the neighboring countries doesn’t have a 20,000 note except Iran.
Not sure if he was referring to Iran when he made this statement because there’s nothing to match with all the other neighboring countries….

Most people don't seem to understand this investment and are hell bent on conspiracy theories that make ZERO sense.

Here's the reality:

The CBI will continue to sell us the IQD because they are making money off of it

They have stated numerous times, most recently 2011, that they will re denominate

They have stated that they wish to go from trillions to billions (think about that)

With every de-valuatiuon, they print more and more.  Earlier this year they stated printing has increased 76% (this is common sense)

If they choose to re denominate, no one gets hurt as far as exchange nor trade

Ask yourselves this.  Why would a Centarl bank print a 25k Note, sell it for $25 USD and buy it back for 25k?  Again, common sense

Ok so let's say they do re denominate.  Do we honestly think these "currency dealers" will buy back our notes?  Think about that

Now you can listen to all these couple cards short of a full deck people throughout this investment, or you can do your own thinking and hopefully a light bulb will go off

Shafaq News/ The head of the "Victory" coalition, former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Wednesday that there is consensus between the camp of Iran on the one hand, and the camp of the West and the United States of America on the other hand, to maintain security and stability in Iraq.

Al-Abadi said during his hosting at the Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue, that "in general, there is consensus between Iran's camp, the West's camp and America, perhaps also Gulf countries, on the need to maintain Iraq's stability, and this is a good thing and is in our interest," noting that Iraq's instability reflects negatively on the region and the world in Shadow of the ongoing war against Ukraine.

Regarding the ongoing attempts to hold a dialogue between the Sadrist movement and the framework to overcome the current political crisis, al-Abadi said that the framework is ready for dialogue in everything, but this does not mean that they are ready to give up their candidate for the position of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Tishreen protests in Iraq, the head of the Victory Coalition stated that Tishreen was a youth revolution and was far from sectarian and ethnic, and youth should not be betrayed, and they are the hope of the future.

Al-Abadi also warned, saying: The fall of the regime means the fall of the state, and this means heading towards chaos, and chaos is only wanted by those who have weapons and therefore there will be no one left for people to protect it.

He added, "A military coup cannot happen, and the time of controlling the radio and declaring the number one statement will not work has become a thing of the past."

Al-Abadi called on those whom he called "the wise and keen on the country to prevent slipping into chaos," noting that 200,000 US forces were unable to control the system after 2003.

Thanks for your clarification yota691. Sorry my bad. Because i only concentrate and read the articles that mention the words about " currency or delete 3 zeros " only. And, i don't quite pay attention to the iraqi politics or the articles that never mention the words " currency or delete 3 zeros ". Besides, iraqi politics is full of jokes and BS anyway. And, i just want this crazy ride to be over real real real soon.

Shakhwan Abdullah: Continuous efforts to communicate with the Sadrists and to involve them in the early elections

Baghdad - people

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, said on Thursday that political stability requires the Sadrists to return to the scene.

Abdullah said in a statement within the activities of the Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue sponsored by "Nass" (September 29, 2022), that "political stability requires the return of the Sadrists to the political scene, and this requires the movement of national forces for this in the coming days."

He added, "Efforts are continuing to communicate with the Sadrists and to involve them in the issues of early elections and the issues at hand."

And he continued, "Al-Barty clearly announced his acceptance of the early elections, but the question is, will the other parties accept the results if they are held again?"

Earlier, the adviser to the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Haider, revealed that there was contact within the Shiite house, including the Sadrist movement, suggesting that early elections would be held no later than two years later.

Haider said in an interview with colleague Saif Ali, which was monitored by "Nas" (September 28, 2022), that "the holding of the parliament session was not an urgent matter...nearly a year has passed since the elections."

He added, "It is not possible to stop the political process and leave the country towards the unknown," noting that "after understanding the basic components on a paper and principles for the next phase under the name of the State Administration Coalition, the House of Representatives held its session."

Haidar continued, "Behind the scenes, there is communication within the Shiite house, including the Sadrist movement," noting that "the Sadrist movement has its audience and cannot be excluded from the political process."

He continued, "Chaos does not serve the Iraqis, and the Iraqi citizen has the right to protest," noting that "the early elections will take place, but at an unknown time, but it does not exceed a period of two years."

Earlier, the coordination framework revealed new details about the efforts to meet with the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr in al-Hanana, which he described as the "real way out of the crisis."

A member of the House of Representatives from the Al-Fateh Alliance, which is affiliated with the coordination framework, Salem Al-Anbaki, said in an interview with the official newspaper, followed by “Nass”, (September 25, 2022): “The date of the meeting of Al-Hanana has not been set yet, and that everyone is waiting for that meeting to know the demands of the movement,” stressing That "there are real efforts to reach the satisfaction of the most difficult parties, led by the Sadrist movement, by offering assurances that pave the way for holding a dialogue session in which one of the parties will be the current, with all parties aware of the seriousness of the stage the country is going through."

He explained that "the meeting that brought together the prime minister's candidate, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, with the representatives, did not undermine the expected tripartite meeting in Al-Hanana," and that "it was just a dialogue with the representatives from most of the blocs, and there was no negative reaction from the Sadrist movement towards it."
