Baghdad - Mawazine News
The Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council announced, on Saturday, a vision of the political crisis and ways to get out of it through 7 constants.

A statement by the Council, received by Mawazine News, during the 41st anniversary of its founding, stated the following:
1- Strengthening the national and Islamic identity, striving to consolidate the values of love, brotherhood and cooperation among all components of the people, and preserving its religious, moral and societal values.
2- The supreme religious authority is the safety valve for our country, our people, our unity and stability, and respecting its directives and positions is a legitimate and national responsibility that everyone must abide by.
3- Iraq is for all Iraqis, and the rights of all its components must be preserved and respected, and citizenship enhanced in a way that preserves their unity and status.
4- The constitution is the reference for solving problems and crises, and all national forces must respect it and abide by its provisions in order to preserve the prestige of the state and its legislative, judicial and executive institutions.
5- Our security forces of all kinds, especially the Popular Mobilization Forces, are the wall of the homeland and the impregnable fortress of Iraq.
6- Iraq is the heart of the world and the centerpiece of the region's balances. This feature should be invested in positive interaction with the international and regional community.
7- The Council affirms its principled position with the rights of peoples, preserving their dignity and freedom, especially the Palestinian people, building their independent state, criminalizing the repeated attacks of the Zionist entity, and standing up to attempts at normalization with Islamic societies.
The Council also mentioned 4 points to avoid any escalation and prevent the country's descent into unknown and ruin, which are:
1- Commitment to peaceful demonstrations and sit-ins, within the framework of the constitution and the law, with respect for state institutions and security forces.
2- Taking care of the rules and principles of democracy and not violating them, and searching for solutions that guarantee and preserve the interests of all and ward off fears.
3- Staying away from convulsive and negative statements and stances, and abandoning the method of accusations and political and media escalation.
4- Adopting the language of dialogue and settlements; To reach equitable solutions for all in accordance with the constitutional path, either through a comprehensive national dialogue that produces a charter to which everyone is bound, or through bilateral dialogues between the two parties to the crisis, or through the selection of a third party that is acceptable and respected by all parties.
The statement pointed out that the only solution and way out of the crisis is to adopt the language of dialogue, understanding and settlements. To reach equitable solutions for all parties and in accordance with the constitutional path. The dialogue is either through a comprehensive national dialogue that produces a charter to which everyone is bound, or through bilateral dialogues between the two parties to the crisis to reach common understandings and bring different points of view, or through the selection of a third party that is acceptable and respected by all parties to take its role in finding acceptable solutions.
In conclusion, the Supreme Council pledges to the honorable Iraqi people and the supreme religious authority and their supporters to remain faithful to its principles, goals and constants, and to continue to exercise its active role in defending the rights of the people, and to contribute to building an independent, strong state that serves its people, and fulfills its aspirations for freedom, independence, justice and a free life. Precious. Ended 29/R77

Been said all before...indeed it's been reworded to fit the occasion. Difficult to take this seriously after 20years + the current Mexican Standoff Iraqi Style.

Change is often very difficult & oft times not without bloodshed.

The corrupt are so deeply entrenched in Iraq. It will take extraordinary measures for the people of Iraq to be released from the vice grip of the Pro-Iranian element.

Shafaq News/ The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Hammam Hammoudi, said this evening, Saturday, that it was Iraqi blood that liberated the country from the former regime, not the United States of America, rejecting at the same time the "authoritarianism" of any political party to monopolize the decision.

Hamoudi said in a speech during the commemoration of the 41st anniversary of the founding of the Supreme Council, that "the new political system did not come on the back of a tank, but rather was found with suffering, abundant blood, great sacrifices and a great effort that took many years and great events."

And he indicated that "the will of the Iraqi people will remain free and no one, whether it is a party, a military force or an occupying force, will be allowed to dominate the Iraqi people, no matter what this force is. It is the will of the people that controls the future of Iraq through the ballot boxes."

He pointed out that "the Supreme Council was established in order to bring down the dictatorial regime and the freedom of the Iraqi people, and although this political system came with abundant sacrifices and blood, it will not continue to achieve its goals if everyone does not cooperate to reform it and correct its course."

He added, "It is not possible to establish a system by the will of one person, group, or party, but we must all sit down and discuss our issues, and develop solutions to our service, economic, social and other problems."

Earlier today, a close associate of the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr, nicknamed "Minister Leader" Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, called for the non-participation of all political parties, including the same movement, in the upcoming elections and the formation of the government.

Al-Iraqi said in a tweet followed by Shafak News Agency, that "there is more important than dissolving parliament and holding early elections, and the most important is: the non-participation of all parties and personalities that have participated in the political process since the US occupation in 2003 and to this day, with all its details, leaders, ministers, employees and special degrees affiliated with it." For the parties, but absolutely, including the Sadrist movement.. I say that with full mouth.

He added, "This is in exchange for all the initiatives that some are seeking, including the United Nations, and I am grateful, and I am ready, within a maximum period of 72 hours, to sign an agreement that includes this, from now."

The political process has witnessed a stifling support since the results of the last elections in October 2021 until now, which is more than ten months, as the Sadrist movement insists on forming the government before it without the participation of Shiite political parties in this, and on the other hand, the comprehensive coordinating framework of Shiite forces stands Other Sunni and Kurdish blocs and independent representatives are in an anti-Sadr camp, where they stick to choosing a candidate from the largest Shiite blocs to form the government.

On July 30, the crisis reached its climax, when supporters of the Sadrist movement stormed the Green Zone and the House of Representatives, in which they have been camping so far, in refusal to nominate the coordinating framework, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, to head the government.
