, a diplomatic source at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed today, Sunday, that Egypt will host tomorrow, Monday, a summit that brings together the leaders of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, the UAE and Qatar, in the Egyptian city of El Alamein.
The diplomatic source said, "The Egyptian city of El Alamein will host tomorrow, Monday, a summit gathering the leaders of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, the UAE and Qatar."
He indicated that the summit will be at a high level, and will discuss economic, energy, politics and security issues in the region.
A short while ago, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed, arrived at the airport in El Alamein, Egypt, where he was received by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
 According to the Egyptian presidency statement, the two leaders exchanged visions and views on international issues, regional security and the current situation in the Arab region.
The two sides also discussed bilateral cooperation paths and the many promising opportunities to expand its horizons to broader levels that enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the economic and development fields that support their aspirations towards achieving sustainable development, progress and prosperity for their peoples.

Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi is scheduled to travel to the Republic of Egypt in the next two days to participate in an Arab summit.

A government source told Shafaq News Agency, that the Council of Ministers will hold its session tomorrow, Sunday, due to Al-Kazemi's travel to Cairo on Monday, to participate in an Arab summit in which: Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE and Qatar will participate.

The source explained that the summit will discuss security and intelligence files, in addition to economic and political files, and the situation in the region in general.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is scheduled to participate in a mini-Arab summit to be held in Egypt.  

  

The official agency quoted sources, followed by “Nass” (August 22, 2022), that “Egypt will host today, Monday, a mini-Arab summit in Marsa Matrouh in the new city of El Alamein, in the presence of the leaders of 5 countries, namely Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa.” Al-Kazemi, the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and King Hamad bin Isa of Bahrain.  

  

She added, "This five-year Arab summit is scheduled to discuss ways to unify efforts and positions towards a number of international issues, especially the Palestinian issue, regional security challenges resulting from the Russian-Ukrainian war, and issues currently facing Arab countries, foremost of which are tensions in the Palestinian and Libyan arenas, support for peace in Yemen, and the crisis And the repercussions of the third filling of the Renaissance Dam.”  

  

And he added, "Al-Kazemi will confirm to the mini-Arab summit, the Iraqi government's endeavor to continue supporting dialogue between brothers in the region, and Iraq's keenness to continue the policy of balance in relations and security stability in the country, as well as its determination to enhance the role and status of Iraq at the Arab, regional and international levels for the benefit of the Iraqi people." and the peoples of the region and the world.  

  

He added, "Al-Kazemi highly appreciates the Egyptian efforts in support of the Iraqi issue at all levels, and looks forward to strengthening the frameworks of cooperation between Iraq and Egypt, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the comprehensive Arab cooperation mechanism, with the aim of continuing to achieve sustainable development, especially in the field of infrastructure and electric power, as well as On strengthening the fields of economic, commercial and investment cooperation.

Today, Monday, August 22, the new city of El Alamein will host a five-year summit that brings together the leaders of Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq.

 

The summit is held at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the summit represents an extension of the many meetings held by Arab leaders over the past months for coordination, consultation and consensus of visions among them.
Today, President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi will hold a joint summit with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The upcoming summit is scheduled to discuss ways of strengthening joint relations in various fields, including energy and food, and strengthening ties between the participating countries in light of the global economic repercussions.
The discussions also include the files of economic, investment and trade cooperation, and discussing the establishment of investment projects that benefit the peoples of the countries and the Arab region. And Bahrain with regard to strengthening Arab cooperation.

Informed Egyptian navigational sources reported the arrival of Jordan's King Abdullah II, Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, at El Alamein Airport on Monday.

The three leaders are scheduled to participate in a five-way summit, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him," who arrived in Egypt yesterday.

The summit will discuss supporting cooperation relations between the five countries and ways to develop them in the coming period, in addition to reviewing the latest regional and international developments, especially the situations in Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Libya and the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Hussein Allawi, Advisor to the Prime Minister, stressed, on Monday, that Iraq is looking for regional security, strengthening the economy and projects that support the energy sector, transport and trade to provide a good economic climate for the country.  

 

  

  

Allawi said in an interview with the official channel, which was followed by "Nas" (August 22, 2022): "The summit comes under complicated exceptional circumstances represented by the continuation of the Russian war that affected global food security."  

  

He added that "the strategic projects that Iraq worked on with Jordan and Egypt within the tripartite alliance and then moved to four-way meetings and now five are translations to enhance joint Arab action, this effectiveness was absent for four decades."  

  

He pointed out that "Iraq is looking for regional security and strengthening the economy and projects that support the energy sector, transportation, and trade, to provide a good economic climate for the country."  

  

He pointed out that "what has changed in the Arab region are attempts and endeavors to strengthen ties of cooperation between various countries, and Iraq has strengthened this by extending bridges of dialogue."

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi cut short his visit to Egypt, and returned to Iraq to follow developments in the country.  

  

  

A statement by Al-Kazemi’s office said, “Nass” received a copy of it, (23 August 2022), “Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi cut short, on Tuesday morning, his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and returned to Baghdad, following the developments of current events in the country, and for the direct follow-up to the performance of his duties.” The security forces protect the institutions of the judiciary and the state.  

 

 

  

Al-Kazemi warned, according to the statement, that "disrupting the work of the judicial institution exposes the country to real dangers, stressing that the right to demonstrate is guaranteed according to the constitution, with the need to respect state institutions to continue their work in the service of the people."  

  

The Prime Minister called on all political forces to "calm down and take advantage of the national dialogue opportunity to get the country out of its current crisis."  

 

  

According to the statement, Al-Kazemi called for an "immediate meeting of the leaders of the political forces, in order to activate the procedures for the national dialogue and defuse the crisis."
