The Democrat: We will be with any step that achieves détente.. These are our conditions for holding the elections

{Political: Al-Furat News} The Kurdistan Democratic Party announced that it will take any step to achieve political détente.

"The national dialogue today is the step for the beginning of a political solution, and today's session was fruitful and there will be other sessions," party spokesman Mahdi Abdul Karim al-Faili told {Euphrates News} a copy of it.
He added that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party will be with any step in which a political breakthrough."
Al-Faili pointed out that "the head of the Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, put forward a set of conditions if it was agreed to hold more early elections," noting that "the most prominent of these conditions is not to repeat what happened in the past elections and to acknowledge their results by all parties and blocs."
And the political forces in Iraq, after a meeting called by the caretaker prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed today, Wednesday, the priority of national interests and dialogue to address the political crisis.
According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister, following the meeting attended by the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, the participants came out with five recommendations in which they agreed on “their commitment to national constants, and finding a solution to all crises through dialogue and by adopting a spirit of brotherhood and synergy, in order to preserve the unity of Iraq.” The security and stability of its people, the permanence of the constitutional democratic system to which everyone appeals, the emphasis on the supreme national interests, and a spirit of solidarity among the people of the one nation to address the current political crisis.
According to the statement, the conferees indicated that "recourse to the polls once again through early elections is not an exceptional event in the history of democratic experiences when political crises reach dead ends, and that national political forces resort to constitutional tracks in elections."
The attendees also called on "the Sadrist movement to engage in the national dialogue, to put in place mechanisms for a comprehensive solution to serve the aspirations of the Iraqi people and achieve their goals."
They also agreed "on the continuation of the national dialogue in order to lay down a legal and constitutional road map to address the current crisis."
The statement concluded by calling to "stop all forms of field, media, or political escalation, stressing the need to protect state institutions and return to calm discussions away from provocations and provocations that would provoke strife." Appealing to "the media and elites to support the path of national dialogue and social peace, to serve the interests" of the Iraqi people.

Member of the Democrat: The leaders' meeting today is a step forward, and Plasschaert's participation gave him an international guarantee

{Politics: Al-Furat News} A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Subhi Al-Mandalawi, considered the leaders' meeting today a step forward, and Plasschaert's participation gave him an international guarantee.

Al Mandalawi said; For the “Al-Mastra” program, broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel tonight, that: “Dialogue, no matter how difficult it is, is better than chaos, and the meeting of presidencies and leaders of national political blocs today was a step forward and better than escalation; but it needs other steps, support and a real will to hold the dialogue.”
He added, "Everyone's opinions point to dissolving parliament and holding elections, but the difference is over the procedure and reliance on legal and constitutional methods."
Al-Mandalawi pointed out that "the absence of the Sadrist movement is influential and may have given a non-positive image of the meeting, but merely holding it in the current situation is a good step, and the Democratic Party is with any dialogue that leads to defusing the crisis."
continue"
Al-Mandalawi noted, "The presence of Plasschaert in the national dialogue meeting gave an international guarantee and gave a kind of confidence that everyone demands. Therefore, the presence of the United Nations will give confidence and its role will be to supervise the elections, but this also depends on the political will to overcome fundamental differences."
And he indicated that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party represents an important link in reaching solutions to the crisis and the tendency of Iraqis to internal fighting that harms everyone, and it is with the stability and security of the country."
Al-Mandulai suggested, "Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr did not reject dialogue completely with the rest of the political parties, as evidence of the postponement of Saturday's demonstrations, and he is also keen that matters do not reach internal fighting, and therefore what he asks for change can only be through dialogue."

Al-Kazemi gathers Iraqi political forces at a dialogue table in the absence of the Sadrists

The Federal Court postpones the case to dissolve Parliament until the end of this month
Thursday - 20 Muharram 1444 AH - 18 August 2022 AD Issue number [15969]

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi speaks during the national dialogue meeting under the auspices of President Barham Salih (AFP)

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Iraqi political blocs held a meeting in the government palace building in response to the invitation of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, for the purpose of discussing the current crisis in the country. Al-Kazemi's office said in a statement that "the dialogue session took place with the participation of the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, and the heads of the legislative and judicial authorities, with the participation of leaders and leaders of political blocs in Iraq, in addition to the presence of the United Nations representative in Iraq, Jenin Plasshart." While the office of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr in Najaf, announced that the movement would not participate in this meeting, but it left the door open in terms of dealing with its outputs.
Al-Sadr's statement said, "The Sadrist movement, with all its addresses and political figures, did not participate in the political dialogue called for by the Prime Minister, neither directly nor indirectly." Al-Kazemi’s call to hold this national dialogue comes after the failure of the Iraqi political blocs to reach a solution to the current crisis between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework, as well as their failure to form a new government despite exceeding the constitutional terms. In conjunction with the dialogue session, the outcomes of which were not announced, which cast doubt on whether the atmosphere that prevailed in the meeting was positive towards reaching approaches to resolving the current crisis, the Federal Supreme Court announced the postponement of the case for dissolving Parliament until August 30th. .
The announcement by the Federal Supreme Court to postpone the lawsuit filed by some political figures and leaders of the Sadrist movement comes two days after the Supreme Judicial Council announced that it had no authority, according to the constitution, to dissolve Parliament. The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who continues to launch attacks on the leaders of the coordination framework, especially those he described as the ominous trinity, in reference to “Nuri al-Maliki, Qais al-Khazali and Ammar al-Hakim” demanded the judiciary and within a maximum period of a week to dissolve Parliament. However, in the context of two tweets, he declared his respect for the judiciary's decision, which Iraqi political circles considered as an indication of calm and non-escalation, especially as he announced the postponement of a demonstration next Saturday.
And in a clear indication of the existence of a split within the forces of the coordination framework regarding Al-Kazemi’s call for national dialogue, the prominent leader in the coordination framework, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced that “the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri will be a representative of him and the leader of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Qais Khazali and the head of the Supreme Council Hammam Hammoudi in the meeting,” without mentioning To Nuri al-Maliki, leader of the rule of law, and Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Wisdom Movement. In a related context, the participation of the UN Representative, Jenin Plaschaert, in an internal Iraqi dialogue, according to what political observers in the Iraqi capital Baghdad see, confirms the depth of the crisis and the international community's fears of its repercussions on Iraq and the region. And Blackshart warned earlier this year and through her briefing to the UN Security Council of the repercussions of what could happen in Iraq. It also warned the Iraqi leaders of the consequences of continuing in the atmosphere of differences. In the past few days, the UN representative has conducted intensive dialogues with a number of Iraqi officials, including the two sides of the crisis, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, without announcing the outcomes of their meetings. But, according to what is going on in the political corridors, Plasschaert bears a mandate from the United Nations to deal with the Iraqi crisis in a way that does not lead to the situation in the country deteriorating to unimaginable consequences.

A statement from the Minister of Al-Sadr regarding the outcomes of the dialogue session... Thank you to the Prime Minister

Baghdad - people

Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, known as the "minister" of the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr, thanked Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, on the background of his adoption of a dialogue session, noting that the session does not fatten and does not sing from hunger.

Al-Iraqi said in a statement, of which “Nass” received a copy, (August 18, 2022), that “a dialogue session graciously adopted by the Prime Minister, but the dialogue session resulted in only some points that are not fattening and do not sing from hunger, which have nothing to do with the people. .nor what concerns his service, his dignity, nor his aspirations.”

He added, "Yes, most of the attendees are only interested in remaining in the chair... Therefore, they tried to minimize the revolution and stay away from its demands. Yes, the revolution does not want people like you to do anything but to step down from a chair on which you unjustly imposed your presence."

Al-Iraqi continued, "Indeed, most of his concern was to form a government according to the goals of some, in order to increase their simplicity and the rooting of their deep state, so that they would control the fate of a people who rejected their presence, so they rigged the elections and made them fit."

He pointed out that "it is striking that one of them went to (the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) a few hours after the end of the dialogue session, and if we were the perpetrators, they would have said: The dialogue session was under pressure from outside and notice from the normalizers and the Americans and the like."

Al-Iraqi pointed out, "In general, your secret session does not concern us with anything... However, I wanted to say: Do not increase the people's anger against you, and do not do anything that increases the people's fear of the democratic process that you are sewing according to your measure."

He said: "I advise if you want to fill (the empty chair), your meeting should be public and broadcast live in front of the people to see what is going on behind the scenes of conspiracies, intrigues and leaks that no one has condemned so far - with great regret -".

And he wondered, "Otherwise, what will the people benefit from closed and secret sessions in which their legitimate desires are not taken into account in achieving the security and safety that you took from them when you sold a third of Iraq and in providing a decent living that you have smuggled abroad to bring in weapons and drugs for the people to use, so you live in peace on ostrich feathers and under the cooling air that was deprived of it? An entire people."

He stressed by saying: "No, it is a people who kneel only to God..and there is no good in your dialogue except those from whom we received news from within the meeting that he was somewhat positive with his people, but he may be one of the helpless."

Al-Iraqi added, "How long will the camel remain on its ivory tower and its abhorrent bourgeois behavior that ignores the suffering of the people and disposes of its money and rights without judicial or international deterrence?"

And he addressed by saying: "Oh people of Iraq, do not be deceived by their dialogue, for it is easier than a spider's web, and their survival will not be long if your revolution is prolonged.. God is the Guardian of success."

The (Iraqi National Dialogue) meeting, which was held in the presence of the presidencies with leaders of the political forces at the invitation of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, came out, today, Wednesday, with five recommendations.

According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office, which "Nass" received a copy of (August 17, 2022), "the meeting led to a number of points, agreed upon by the attendees, represented by the following:"

1 The participants expressed their commitment to the national constants, and to finding a solution to all crises through dialogue and adopting a spirit of brotherhood and synergy; In order to preserve the unity of Iraq and the security and stability of its people, and the permanence of the constitutional democratic system to which everyone appeals, emphasizing the supremacy of the supreme national interests, and showing a spirit of solidarity among the people of the one nation; to address the current political crisis.

2- The conferees indicated that resorting to the polls once again through early elections is not an exceptional event in the history of democratic experiences when political crises reach dead ends, and that national political forces resort to constitutional tracks in elections.

3- The conferees called on the brothers in the Sadrist movement to engage in the national dialogue, to put in place mechanisms for a comprehensive solution to serve the aspirations of the Iraqi people and achieve their goals.

4- The participants agreed on the continuation of the national dialogue; In order to develop a legal and constitutional road map to address the current crisis.

For a comprehensive national dialogue, it calls on all political, social, professional, youth and Tishreen revolutionaries to come out with a unified national vision to avoid the Iraqi people from the dangers they face internally and externally.

He added, "With the increase in the pace of conflicts and the division that reached the mobilization of the street and the disruption of the work of the three authorities, the National Coalition was surprised to hold a limited political meeting quickly at the invitation of the Prime Minister, which was limited to some blocs represented in the House of Representatives and the government," pointing out that this meeting "" He excluded the majority of the national political, social and professional parties and representatives of the demonstrations from the Tishreen revolutionaries.

He explained that "at the forefront of those parties that were not invited to the meeting is the National Coalition, which was the first to call for dialogue, as well as the Iraqi Communist Party, independent parliamentary blocs, most patriotic and democratic figures, unions, unions, clan elders and university professors," stressing that this matter "had direct effects on The fragile results that came out of the meeting, which was devoid of any practical decisions affecting the course of the current escalating crisis, were only theoretical statements that did not touch the root of the problem and the solutions that should be the goal of every true national dialogue.

He continued, "It is an expected result given the limited parties to the dialogue and the urgency to hold it without adequate preparation, which affected the parties' ability to take decisive and responsible decisions and make mutual concessions on common national ground imposed by the gravity of the stage and the reasons for preserving national unity."

According to the statement, the National Coalition “regrets that yesterday’s meeting did not come out with practical results at the level of the seriousness of the stage, which missed an opportunity to get out of the crisis,” and regrets “for not inviting it and the other national and popular forces to meet.”

He stressed that the coalition "reiterates its call for a comprehensive national dialogue that does not exclude or exclude anyone," stressing that it is "the only peaceful way left to get out of the political and constitutional crisis and the impasse of the continued failure to resolve it, and the dangers of this on the lives of citizens and their decent livelihoods, and the proper functioning of the administration and services of the Iraqi state." which has reached the level of a failed state.

Nearly 20 years of chin wagging...they never tire of themselves. I'm truly surprised they pushed through the Food Security Act & the White Papers. Getting these things implemented is a different story.

The corruption stranglehold is such that just because something gets passed, implementing it becomes the challenge: sand bagging & foot dragging is a political art form there.

My curiosity is such that now I'm interested to see how long this impasse between Sadr & Tater can be stretched out.

We're now pushing ever closer to a year of this lunacy.

مشادة بين نوري المالكي ومصطفى الكاظمي في اجتماع القيادات السياسية العليا في بغداد
Baghdad - Dr. Hamid Abdullah:
Fri 19 2022 - 02:00

A source who attended the meeting of senior political leaders that was held in Baghdad recently revealed to (Gulf News) On an altercation that occurred between former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, it almost exploded the meeting
The source indicated that during the meeting, Al-Kazemi expressed his regret for not attending the Sadrist movement and boycotting the dialogue that called Al-Kazemi replied to him by saying: Al-Sadr did not boycott the meeting because you represent him and adopt his views and defend about him
Nouri al-Maliki, the head of the Al-Fateh coalition Hadi al-Amiri, and the head of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais al-Khazali, appeared They seemed very annoyed during the meeting due to the boycott of Al-Sadr, and the lack of any usefulness in the dialogues absent It is the most effective party in the political equation, which is now at the highest levels of complexity and tension.
The framework forces accuse Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi of agreeing with the leader of the Sadrist movement and working to form a government led by him Sadrists.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi revealed that officials, senior politicians and influential employees had intervened to steal Billions of dollars from the central treasury.
Allawi said in the text of his resignation to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi that there are those who tamper with Iraqi money Billions are wasted and stolen without the state being able to deter thieves or stop the bleeding of public money.
And he knew about the resigned Minister of Finance his project, which aims to throw government spending through what he called (the paper). Al-Bayda), but he clashed with political forces that control the state’s funds with the power of influence and weapons, without deterrence or oversight. Influential parties and armed factions control economic joints that generate billions of dollars through their acquisition of these joints.
During the first months of his government tenure, Al-Kazemi tried to extend the state's influence over the border crossings, but he entered In a difficult confrontation with the armed parties and factions that shared those ports until they acquired more than 80 percent of its revenues, which, if entered into the state coffers, would have constituted 20 percent of Iraq's annual revenues.

Mustafa Fahs

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi placed the political class in front of its historical responsibilities, after turning his call for dialogue into a practical initiative; An initiative that could open a hole in the wall of the political blockage that the political process has been suffering from since the legislative elections that took place last October, but this modest gap needs a collective effort in order to expand and turn into a real window that enables the two communities to achieve public goals. that were discussed at the negotiating table. But it is clear that the absence of the Sadrist movement from the meeting was not a maneuver, rather it is still clinging to its high ceilings that go beyond the modest results and recommendations of the first session, so it seems that the side consultations that can be conducted with al-Sadr will be shocked by his difficult demands, and return the ball to the court of his political opponents after he separated them and between the Prime Minister.

Actually, the first session came out with only one point that could establish a road map that might help break the bottleneck if everyone agreed on the possibility that the early legislative elections would be a way out of the crisis. The final statement issued after the meeting, last Wednesday, confirmed this way out in a clear text. He explicitly says that "recourse to the polls once again through early elections is not an exceptional event in the history of democratic experiments when political crises reach dead ends."

The decision for early elections is not devoid of the devil. Details that may take a long time to be resolved are not available, if the political class does not make constructive concessions, starting with agreeing on a new election law that reflects the reality of representation, and takes into account the political and social transformations that have taken place in Iraq since the “October Uprising.” , and does not push the silent majority to boycott again, and this needs guarantees provided by the political class and implemented by the government through a truly independent election body that stands at the same distance from everyone and pledges to conduct fair elections.

From here, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is facing new challenges, from his position as the facilitator of dialogue and the guarantor of the implementation of what will be agreed upon, and in bringing the views of the most estranged and strict parties closer, more than ever, he is required to preserve the neutrality of the state and its institutions, and to expand the circle of participation in Dialogue so that it is not limited to the forces of the status quo. In a complex phase that Iraq is going through, in which its national contract threatens to disintegrate, there is an urgent need to form a critical mass of independent political actors, thinkers and economic changers, who represent the largest national segment of those who have been excluded and marginalized for 19 years, and to allow them to participate in political life as key actors, exercising the role of The watchdog over a stage of major transformations in the state and society, and the regulator for the safety of the transition to a new stage.

In the previous 19 years, the Iraqi political class took the worst of the Lebanese model (the quota system), but Al-Kazemi had the opportunity to draw on the experience of Lebanese personalities he knew closely, including the two late Hani Fahs and Samir Franjieh, who, at the end of the civil war, established a critical bloc known as the Permanent Conference for Dialogue, and they succeeded With national elites in achieving civil reconciliation between the Lebanese groups and between the party groups and elites that made a real review of the civil war experience, and they achieved relative success despite the harassment of the Syrian occupation security services and the civil war lords.

Accordingly, in the intractable Iraqi case, the fighting is costly even to those who bet on dominance. In a complex and complex social nature, in which nationalism, religious and religious, sectarian and ideological, regional, tribal, partisan, currents and factions overlap, resorting to arms becomes like a mass killing whose repercussions will not stop. Before the rest of the state collapses, and the available wealth is wasted, and there is no difference between the victor and the defeated except by the number of victims, and this will lead to two things; Either the Iraq that we have known for more than a century will end, or the political process and its directed democracy will end in the hands of those who take the initiative to end the chaos.

Shafaq News/ A source close to Al-Hanana, the residence of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, revealed that there has been no meeting so far between the latter and the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri.

The source explained to Shafak News Agency; He "has not yet met (Al-Amiri), who was authorized by the coordinating framework forces to negotiate with Al-Sadr, because the conditions set by Al-Sadr earlier as a condition for conducting the meeting have not been met, including withdrawing from the framework and denouncing the leaks of the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, in addition to the last condition that Al-Sadr set it after the meeting of the forces at one dialogue table that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi called for last week, and Al-Sadr missed it, and it was represented by a live broadcast of sessions of what was going on in the meeting and informing the Iraqis of what was going on.”

The source pointed out that "Al-Sadr is keen on the country's unity, security and stability, and his concern is focused on uprooting the corrupt and fighting corruption in all its forms.

The presidencies met with the leaders of the Iraqi national political forces at the invitation of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, last Wednesday; To discuss political developments in the country, in the presence of the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq.

The meeting led to a number of points agreed upon by the attendees, as follows:

1- The conferees expressed their commitment to the national constants, and to finding a solution to all crises through dialogue and adopting a spirit of brotherhood and synergy; In order to preserve the unity of Iraq and the security and stability of its people, and the permanence of the constitutional democratic system to which everyone appeals, emphasizing the supremacy of the supreme national interests, and showing a spirit of solidarity among the people of the one nation; to address the current political crisis.

5- The conferees called for stopping all forms of field, media, or political escalation, stressing the need to protect state institutions and return to calm discussions away from provocations and provocations that would provoke strife. They appealed to the media and elites to support the path of national dialogue and social peace, to serve the interests of our people.

Yesterday, Thursday, Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, the so-called "minister of the leader" who is close to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, sharply criticized the dialogue sponsored by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi for the three presidencies with the leaders of the political blocs to get out of the current crisis in the country.

Shafaq News/ The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced on Saturday that he had submitted a proposal to the United Nations to sponsor a public debate with the "political parties", but he did not receive a tangible response from them, while confirming that there is no secret dialogue after today.

Al-Sadr said in a tweet seen by Shafak News Agency, O beloved Iraqi people, we would like to inform you that we submitted a proposal to the United Nations (for a dialogue session) but rather a public (debate) and a live broadcast .. with all political parties, we did not see a tangible response from them, and the answer was through The mediator gave an answer that neither sufficed nor fattened from starvation, and their answer did not include anything about reform, the demands of the revolutionaries, nor what the people are suffering from.. They did not give what is happening any importance at all. Therefore, we ask everyone to wait for our other step towards the policy of ignoring what happened to Iraq and its people because of Corruption and dependency.

He added, "Do not expect us to have a new secret dialogue after that.. I do not hide anything from my people and I will not sit with the corrupt and those who want evil or (to kill) or harm those who belong to us, the Al-Sadr family. From fixing what has been spoiled to save Iraq."
