Remember, no one really  knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating  their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... RON 

 

 

*** Mnt Goat  So, how many times must Iraq tell us that the only entity that has the power to change the currency exchange rate is within the coordination of the CBI and the Finance ministry. The cabinet DOES NOT have the power to change the exchange rate, EVER! 

 

 

*** Mark  Article: “Government official: Iraq is not thinking of floating the currency at the moment” I believe this to be a re-print with a new date on it…Just like in Kuwait the morning that it went. Kuwait ran an article that it would be 6 months to a year or two before they RV’d their currency. They then changed the rate that same afternoon... So we have expected them to print these type of articles close to the end.

But, Iraq is NOT Kuwait. So we should realize that Iraq might not  do like Kuwait. Iraq doesn't do ANYTHING like ANYONE ELSE! That's why we continue to wait, and Wait, AND WAIT!  🙄 😮

Perhaps, just maybe, wishful thinking or however you want to describe it;

 

If Iraq was able to mature enough, to move away from the 7th century, religious, political tribalism, they might be able to get something accomplished beyond greed, corruption and political bickering.

They talk and talk in circles, bicker, negotiate, b**ch and complain. Get nothing accomplished, then propose a meeting to do it again. 

 

Let's not forget that they are still selling oil, while all this current political "conversation" continues.

They are still making record profits.

They are buying gold.

The corruption and greed continue by those in control.

Maybe consider THEE Bicraqi Iraqi decided to put the most technologically advanced monetary system in place.

 

For WHAT, pray tell, might one ask???!!!

 

Well, OK, who is sayin' the Bicraqi Iraqi are meeting ANY schedule like the one advertised for the completion of the new Bicraqi Iraqi CBI building AND THEE Bicraqi Iraqi most technologically addvance monetary system IN 2022???!!!

 

Sure an ESTIMATED completion date given a few years back.

 

HOWEVER, progress IS being made!!!

 

Maybe BABY THIS year OR, at THEE LATEST, NEXT year (2023) while the system WILL get tested AND become functional!!!

 

My opinion is THIS will ALL occur ONCE THEE YE OLDE SILK ROAD is reestablished THEN............

 

BOOM!!!!

Exactly, as we all know and most of us have this known for years  !! 

 

And they can have all the most advances monetary systems in the world, but as of today they have failed to put this current/modern, worldly/international monetary technology to work/use........ IMHO

Where is the incentive for the CBI, the GOI or any other political entity in Iraq to bring currency reform to the table ?? ........  Thus making a meaningful change in the currency on an international level ??

 

They trade and get paid for oil, in US $$$ on the international market and yet the local economy runs on the IQD ???

 

Again, where is the incentive to bring IQD currency reform to the table and thus traded on an international level ??  ... (and 'ya I know they are proud people with a long history and blah,blah blah)  

 

Just askin', cuz I don't know the answer to these questions   ...............................
