She emphasized that "Iraq faces a wide list of outstanding internal issues: it is in dire need of economic reform, effective public service delivery, as well as a federal budget - to name a few. Today, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mrs. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

During the meeting, they discussed political developments in the country, ways to get out of the current crisis, ensure security and stability in the country, and secure dialogue and convergence among all to find effective solutions that fulfill the aspirations of citizens.

President Barham Salih stressed that the conditions in the country require a commitment to calm and to engage in an honest and careful dialogue that deals with the political situation in order to reach a clear-cut roadmap based on giving priority to the supreme national interest, reassuring citizens, consolidating civil and social peace, and fortifying the country.

For her part, Ms. Plasschaert affirmed the support and support of the United Nations mission for dialogue between all parties and access to paths that secure the protection of security and stability and meet the requirements of the Iraqis.

The mission reiterated its welcome to the "recent calls for a national dialogue, and commends the expression of support from all political spectrum", at the same time appealing to all actors to "commit, actively participate, and agree on solutions without delay."

And she stressed that "the transition from words to deeds has become an urgent necessity, Iraq cannot go to another national dialogue in vain.

The UN mission concluded, “Iraq faces a wide list of outstanding internal issues, as it is in dire need of economic reform, effective public services delivery, as well as a federal budget, and it is time for political stakeholders to assume their responsibilities and act in the national interest.” .

Good to see the UN has this situation firmly in hand & under control. ( This is what's known as sarcasm folks ).

What's been going on here for nearly 20 years shows me how completely inept the UN would like everyone to see, all the while running a fantastically brilliant  operation of one of the most clever of all money laundering schemes in the history of the world.
