"Al-Sadr will prevent any government formed according to the consensus approach, and moving the street to prevent this matter is very likely, if the framework is actually presented to the formation of such a government."

As I said, 1-2 weeks ago. Past behavior frequently predicts future behavior. Plus so many of the little Chieftains want all in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution, which limits a candidate for Prime Minister to two terms' which Maliki already has served.

He served those 2 terms back to back. My confusion lies with...can anyone serve 2 terms only and never again or in the case of ole Tater he's done his 2 then after a couple of administrations can he come back ... Perhaps that's a rhetorical question as I would have to say No. Am I being clear as mud here, apologies.

If No, he maneuvers a puppet into the PM SLOT thus controlling from behind the curtain. Equally as troubling isn't it.

Shafaq News/ The leader of the "State Forces" coalition, Ammar al-Hakim, said on Sunday that it is not correct for all political forces and parties to participate in the next federal government, and that it is necessary for there to be opposition within the Iraqi parliament, calling at the same time the Kurdish political forces to Accelerate the conclusion of the position of the President of the Republic.

Al-Hakim said in the Eid prayer sermon among crowds of people in the capital, Baghdad, that there is a political movement to form the government after 9 months of holding the early elections, which were marred by many problems and observations, and which the country still suffers from and is not insignificant.

He stressed the need to support and strengthen the positive parliamentary opposition, saying, "The parliamentary system must be strengthened from within the parliament itself by enhancing confidence through two tracks, one of which adopts the formation of the government and the other monitors it and evaluates its work."

Al-Hakim expressed his opinion that it is not correct for everyone to participate in the government, and there must be a parliamentary body that supports the government and another party that monitors it, otherwise we will not find a solution to the political process in Iraq.

The leader of the "state forces" coalition stressed that "there must be a speedy formation of a national, balanced service government, in line with the magnitude of the challenges surrounding Iraq, most notably the economic, environmental and social challenges."

Al-Hakim considered the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc as a challenge facing the next government, saying that "the withdrawal of the Sadrists does not mean their exit from the political scene. critical and sensitive.

He continued by saying, "We call on the brothers in the region to the fastest in deciding the position of the President of the Republic, as this position concerns all Iraqis, not only the Kurdish brothers," adding that this position "is greater than the entitlement of one component, but rather it is for all components of the country, and it is a guarantee for the unity of Iraqis and the safety valve for Iraq." and for the constitution.”

Determining the date for the nomination of the prime ministerial candidate

{Political: Al-Furat News} A deputy from the State of Law bloc revealed the date for the presentation of the fun of heading the new government.

Faisal Al-Naeli told {Euphrates News}: "Putting the names of the candidates for the post of prime minister is moving towards secrecy until all the blocks of the coordination framework determine the names of the candidates."
He added, "It was agreed to resolve the nomination of the prime minister next week, and names were put forward that undermine the consensus of all parties to the coordination framework."
Al-Naeli continued, "As for the candidate for the position of First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, he will be determined after naming the Prime Minister, because the latter will follow the share of who you are, and then the candidate for the parliamentary position will be determined."
He pointed out, "We do not rule out that the position of the first deputy speaker of parliament will be prevented by the independent parties, but we are waiting for the resolution of the file of the prime minister until the trend is towards resolving the file of the first."
Iraq has been experiencing a political crisis since the early parliamentary elections were held in October 2021, due to differences between the forces that won parliamentary seats over the next prime minister and how to form the next government, and differences prevail among the Kurds over the presidential candidate.
Popular circles are awaiting the results of the political movement after the Eid al-Adha holiday and the resumption of parliament sessions, amid hopes of agreement on naming candidates for the presidency and ministers and moving towards forming a government.

The silence that the political process experienced for a short period of time quickly dissipated after the recent speeches and statements... an intractable political crisis compounded by adherence to positions in the Kurdish house. The proposed initiatives did not receive positive results and did not present alternative options for the option of breaking the bone in the next parliament session.

While the street awaits a breakthrough in the political scene that has worsened over the past months, the conflicts of the two Kurdish parties, which have reached the most severe, are jumping to the fore.

Considering that the Kurdish House’s resolution of the ongoing dispute is a key to resolving the crisis, the forces of the coordination framework from the northern parties hope to move forward in completing their dialogues and side meetings, as resolving this controversy is a gateway to the formation of the new government, especially since there are only a few days left for the end of the legislative recess and the Parliament returns to carry out its duties After the Eid al-Adha holiday.

While among the proposed solutions, in the event of failure of the negotiations between the two Kurdish rivals, the repetition of the two-year-old scenario, which is the closest to the investigation, represented by their entry separately with their candidate to the dome of legislation, the situation will be resolved and the President of the Republic will be passed in Parliament.

With the Shiite framework confirming that the Kurdish agreement is an urgent necessity, the isolation between them is currently the biggest obstacle and has impeded proceeding with the completion of the constitutional dues. Therefore, the crisis of the Presidency of the Republic must be ended in preparation for the start of the steps to form the government after the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Will al-Maliki return to head the government? What after his return?

A unanimous vote was taken to nominate the leader of the coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, to compete for the position of the next prime minister, and the vote was carried out according to the criteria set by the coordination framework. The formation of the government,” he said, adding that “Al-Maliki’s passing of his competitors will be easy because of his experience and a strong personality to manage the next stage, which is a difficult and complex stage.” This is what was issued by the State of Law coalition.

Does this mean that al-Maliki is back???.

After he assumed two successive terms between 2006 and 2014, in which the country witnessed widespread corruption and those close to it controlled Iraq's capabilities, which eventually led to the fall of more than a third of Iraq's area under the occupation of ISIS, in addition to the huge corruption operations that cost the country huge losses estimated at hundreds. With billions of dollars, the judicial authorities are still unable to make progress in the corruption cases related to them due to political pressure in this regard.

Al-Maliki told Al-Alam satellite channel that he accepted the nomination after he announced that he would not head the government again. Some are prime ministers, whatever they are.”

The country is still suffering so far from the effects of the Maliki era, which estimates the number of victims at tens of thousands of detainees and abductees, as well as about a quarter of a million Iraqis dead and wounded as a result of the ISIS invasion of Iraq and the tragedies it left behind.

And remains the major crime of the era (Speicher), which claimed the lives of more than (1700) young Iraqis associated with the name of al-Maliki, who handed them over on a golden platter to ISIS to be slaughtered as rams, and the budget year (2014) remains a distinctive sign of the corruption of al-Maliki’s rule, about which nothing is known. this moment.

All that we have presented above is just the tip of the iceberg. After this, can al-Maliki rise to power again? In the land of wonders, everything is possible, but the most important question is will the government withstand the challenges? The most important of which is Mr. al-Sadr’s allusions to the possibility of taking to the street, and can al-Maliki To ally with those he described as agents?

Before giving our opinion, Mr. Al-Sadr will regret his decision to withdraw, because he left the arena to his opponents, who quickly moved in various ways to fill the void, and are now rushing towards full power-sharing, as Mr. Al-Sadr had imagined that his decision to withdraw would make his allies and others flock to him with delegations. Not out of love with his participation, but they know his weight in the Iraqi arena, but his partners in the tripartite alliance continued the game and did not care about his withdrawal, because today they are reaping more gains from the framework than they wish for themselves, but more than this until the decision of the Federal Court entrusted to them Mr. Al-Maliki resolved it.

All signs indicate the formation of the government by the frameworks, but as the leader of the “National Coalition” Iyad Allawi expected, the Sadrist movement resorted to mobilizing the street and going out in demonstrations in order to extract its rights, indicating that the leader of the “Sadr movement” felt embarrassed about not forming the government and was forced to Resignation, and Allawi said, in press statements, that “the next options of the Sadrist bloc may be to resort to the street, and al-Sadr was embarrassed not to form a government despite having 73 seats,” and this expected option, and this option did not allow the expected government to continue for long, as I emphasized in my previous article that it will not last for more than three months, and after the fall of the government, the last fall of the owners and its inevitable end, and the end that I am talking about is his trial for everything we mentioned and then he rests behind bars for the remainder of his life.

I wasn't around when all this Maliki horror was going on.  Glad this journalist wrote this to tell the story.  I wonder how Maliki walks free and enjoys his life after all this, along with accepting the nomination for PM. And who are unanimous vote people that unanimously voted for him?  Are they not as guilty as Maliki for all of the crimes he committed if they want him back? How does a guy just walk free after all this? How can a guy with this history even run for PM??? I'm no expert in the matter. You decide.

Al-Party sets a date for a “decisive” negotiating round with the PUK regarding the presidency

Baghdad - people

On Monday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party revealed an upcoming round of negotiations after Eid al-Adha with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan regarding the presidency of the republic.

The leader of the party, Jia Timur, said in a statement to the official channel, followed by "Nas" (July 11, 2022), "What hinders understandings with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is that the position has become a custom from the entitlement of the Kurdish component, but not to a specific party within the component."

He added, "The Democrat ceded the position to the Union in previous sessions, and now he sees that the position is his right because he has a greater number of seats."

He continued, "There was a strategic agreement between the two parties in 2006, but conditions have changed and the Democrat has about half of the Kurdish seats in the Iraqi parliament, and we see our electoral right this time as the position of President of the Republic."

And between, "The consultations are still ongoing, but they have not reached final results so far, but there is a round of negotiations that will follow the end of the Eid and will be decisive and will determine whether the two parties go to Baghdad with one candidate for the presidency or two candidates."

He pointed out that "the Democratic Party is ready to conduct detailed negotiations, this time in a reliable manner, and it is necessary to negotiate with the coordination framework."

Taymour ruled out that "the coordination framework imposes the name of Barham Salih as a candidate for the presidency, because this may distance the Democrat from the political equation and may take positions that preserve the party's interests in the Kurdistan region," noting that "any government that will be formed without the Kurdistan Democratic Party will be considered lame on its Kurdish side."

The second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, revealed, earlier, the latest developments in the formation of the government, indicating that the Democratic Party decided to participate in it.

Abdullah said in a statement to the official website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and followed by "Nas" (July 7, 2022), that "after al-Sadr's withdrawal, the coordinating framework is now in the field and they want to form a government, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party has decided to participate in the government within the framework of this national project that He wants to agree on it, and the party has made partnership, consensus and balance the basis for participation."

"For this reason, the framework of the negotiating delegation is now formed and they are preparing the work program of the next government, and upon completion of the program they talk about it with the parties. Regarding the location of that program, Abdullah mentioned that it is generally about the way the government can adopt from pluralism, consensus, and everyone's participation in it," Shakhwan added.

Earlier, "Barzani's headquarters" issued a clarification regarding the position of Kurdistan Democratic Party leader Massoud Barzani regarding the formation of the next government.

And a statement of the headquarters, which "Nass" received a copy of, (6 July 2022), said that "a number of media outlets published that (Kurdistan Democratic Party chief) Masoud Barzani had more than one different message that he conveyed to the leaders of the coordination framework regarding the political process and candidates to head the next Iraqi government. ".

The statement added that it "declares to the public opinion that these news are far from the truth and have no basis," stressing that "in the political process in Iraq and the next government, the names of people and parties are not important for Barzani, but rather is the implementation of the constitution and the program of the next Iraqi government."

And a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in Parliament, Majid Shankali, announced earlier that the coordinating framework had not resolved its issue regarding the position of prime minister, especially since al-Maliki, al-Abadi and al-Amiri are seeking to obtain the position.

Shankali said in a statement to the Kurdish section of the "Voice of America" radio station, followed by "Nas" (July 6, 2022): "Our agreement with the coordination framework has become a reality and a common understanding."

He added that "the Sadrist movement is no longer in parliament and has no seats, so it has become the coordinating framework on the ground concerned with forming the next government."

He pointed out that "Al-Maliki is the candidate of the rule of law for the position of prime minister, but the coordination framework has not been decided and has not been decided, because many of the leaders of the first row in the framework seek to become prime minister, including Haider al-Abadi and Hadi al-Amiri."

Shankali explained that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party does not have reservations about the candidates, and we do not deal with people, but we deal with the government's program and state administration in an appropriate manner, and we look forward to participating in the administration of the state."

Regarding the differences within the Kurdish House, Shankali stated that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan insists on the nomination of Barham Salih, and there are many reservations about it, and we see the necessity of choosing the Kurdish candidate for the presidency of the republic within the Kurdish blocs and by 63 Kurdish members of Parliament, but the Union insists that the position is one of the his share."
