Prime Minister Mazher Mohamed Saleh's financial advisor explained on Wednesday the mechanism for implementing the Emergency Food Security support Act, while setting the duration of implementation.

"The content of the emergency food security support law and the instructions for its implementation are subject to the procedures of the competent ministry and mainly from the Ministry of Finance, which has prepared the adequate instructions that required its adoption," Saleh told the official news agency.

"It has not been long since the law was enacted by the House of Representatives to come into force," he said.

"Implementation procedures extend until the end of the year or until a budget law is passed if the legislative environment permits it in the future," he said.

"There are rapid steps related to paying farmers' dues and supporting the ration card, and certainly the exchange programs will be phased in within a period of perhaps no more than a month from now," he said.

On Thursday, the Service Council announced the nomination of a representative of the Council to amend the salary scale.  

  

 

  

The official spokesman for the Federal Public Service Council, Wissam Al-Lahibi, said in a statement that “Nass” received a copy of it (July 28, 2022), that “the Service Council nominated the Director-General of the Research and Administrative Studies Department for membership of the committee formed by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and specialized in studying private legislation. The salaries of state employees, the mechanisms for their implementation, the possibility of matching the criteria for their amendment, and providing solutions in dealing with the case of discrepancies in those salaries.  

  

He added that "the committee formed under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Planning and the membership of each of the General Secretariat, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Public Service Council and the Office of Financial Supervision, has begun its tasks for the purpose of accomplishing what is required of it."

The Parliamentary Finance Committee considered, on Saturday, that the salary scale law will remain “disabled” due to the current political situation.

Committee member Jamal Cougar said, "Despite the government's talk about reconsidering the salary scale for employees, anything or action regarding this law remains suspended due to the current political situation."

Cougar added, in a statement to "Al-Furat News" and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "it is not possible to move towards the law at the present time because it needs the House of Representatives to amend and vote on it, and to put Parliament currently as it is now."

In a separate context, Cougar indicated that "the Food Security Law has entered into force the moment it was approved."
