GT ACE
Imagine a hockey game with ten pucks and no nets! Everyone is taking shots but there are no nets and no way to score! This is the Iraqi political game in a nut shell. I wonder how most of the members here feel; are the Iraqi's are really any further along in seating their government than they were just after the March 7 elections? Pexring
I vote 'no' to your question. It'll be years before we see any gov't stability. Probably be years before we see an RV, if any. Just too many common-sense things not lining up for an RV to happen this year. But what do I know . . . . . 3
Trimark
My gut feeling is that this is a done deal and we will hear some good news early next week. If not then, we hear good news by Sept. 15. Yes, I am an optimist. 4
mrparrot
I'm waiting to find out a few things. How will shopkeepers find out that it's time to change the prices on everything? How will the people be informed that they no longer need a bucket of Dinar to purchase a loaf of bread? The lower denomination question is a two-parter. First, how will the people know that it's time to go to the bank, turn in their large bills, and get an atm card or smaller denominations? Secondly, how will the people be taught how to use the atm cards? Will there be someone at the bank, holding classes? Will there be an insert in the local newspaper? Will it be via a tv broadcast? Maybe, just maybe, the upcoming census might be a clue. Maybe, just maybe, the census is a cover story, and the people taking the census are really people going door to door, handing out instructions (and taking the census while they're there...). That's the type of things that are going to be hard to keep a lid on and the best indicator that we really are at the end of the ride. That's my 2 dinars worth. What's yours?

Just too many common-sense things not lining up for an RV to happen this year. But what do I know . . . . . You really need to read scooters posts, all three parts, that explains the if, whys and possible when of the RV. This will surely improve your dispostion about the RV. With such negativity in your post, it makes me wonder why you're invested. 3

I was thinking the same thing, I guess they will have to do it at the close of a business day or on a weekend so stores will know better when they open for business. hull_lottalove
No we are not close. Sorry guys but Iraq is weak and won't do it. The UN is weak and won't do anything and our government is weak and won't do anything. This should have been done last year. If it is not done now who knows when it will be done! Keep your heads up because it will be done. I will still be on here day after day reading and waiting. It will be done sometime but when who knows!

BANE
Guys, Aren´t you forgetting when the Berlin Wall came down? It happened OVERNIGHT! That was the END of the bloc in that one day. All we are talking about here to is re value the Iraqi currency. A far SIMPLER task then ending a political idealogy!!!
DaveH
Imagine? Are we in the land of make believe? Stop and take a look at all that is going on....we don;t need to imagine....plenty of facts before our eyes...this is gonna happen soon(RI) Good luck to all dinar holders and "so sorry" to the rest of you. I vote 'no' to your question. It'll be years before we see any gov't stability. Probably be years before we see an RV, if any. Just too many common-sense things not lining up for an RV to happen this year. But what do I know . . . . . Explain further. What are the too many common sense things not lining up for an rv to happen this year? But you do know....what exactly? Please explain your position.
