Shafaq News/ The State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki revealed today, Sunday, a parliamentary move to hold an emergency session and vote on the Sadrist bloc's resigned replacements.

The representative of the state of law, Muhammad Al-Sayoud, told Shafak News Agency, that holding an emergency session of the House of Representatives requires collecting 50 signatures from the members of the House, "noting that "the deputies of the coordination framework are more than the required number."

Chihod explained, "There is currently a movement to collect signatures from the deputies of the coordination framework to hold an emergency session of the House of Representatives to vote on replacing the resigned representatives, and to take the oath in their place."

Chihod indicated that "the request to hold the session will be submitted to the Presidency of the Parliament to set a date for it."

And today, Sunday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi signed the Diwaniyah orders for the resignation of the Sadrist bloc’s deputies from Parliament.

According to a number of Diwaniyah orders received by Shafak News Agency; Al-Halbousi signed an order to disband his first deputy, Hakim al-Zamili, in addition to more than 70 Diwaniyah orders ending the relationship of the Sadrist bloc's deputies with Parliament.

On June 13, Al-Sadr directed the Sadrist bloc’s deputies in the Iraqi parliament to hand over their resignations to the speaker of the parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, while he thanked his allies in the “Save the Homeland” coalition and informed them that they “are in a solution.”

Al-Halbousi signed these resignations in the presence of the head of the parliamentary bloc, Hassan Al-Adhari, and then commented, by saying: "Their resignations took place reluctantly," referring to efforts made to dissuade Al-Sadr from this step.

Shafaq News/ A source close to al-Hanana, the residence of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, said on Monday that the replacements for the Sadrist bloc's deputies will withdraw or apologize from the parliamentary work, because al-Sadr's decision requires that no deputy belonging to the Sadrist movement participate, indicating that the position of the first deputy president The parliament, which is currently occupied by the governor of Zamili, will spark a dispute between the political forces to win him.

The source told Shafaq News Agency, "More than 20 of the replacements for the Sadrist bloc's representatives who hail from the Sadrist movement will not accept and will announce their apologies for participating in the parliamentary work in compliance with and obedience to the decisions of the leader of the Sadrist movement to withdraw from the political process."

He pointed out that "the Presidency of Parliament has not yet sent to the Electoral Commission an official letter to provide it with official books specifying the names of the replacements and their distribution map, and that the session to resolve the nomination of a replacement for the first deputy speaker of Parliament (Hakim Al-Zamili) has not yet been determined because choosing a replacement for Al-Zamili requires a parliamentary session." To vote on his resignation as well as to nominate an alternative for him, with the consensus of the parliamentary blocs, and this means entering into a new crisis where most of the forces will compete for that.”

He pointed out that "the distribution of the Sadrist bloc's seats to the political parties will greatly change the map of its political and parliamentary weight, in other words, the rules of dialogue and negotiation among them may differ according to parliamentary changes."

Yesterday, Sunday, a leading source in the political body of the Sadrist movement said that the movement's leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, entered a "political retreat" and that he closed his door to political mediation.

The source told Shafaq News Agency, "The decision of the Sadrist bloc's deputies to resign from the parliament's membership and the Sadrist movement's withdrawal from the political process is fixed and irreversible." He explained that "the political body of the Sadrist movement and the private office of Muqtada al-Sadr have recently received many requests from leaders and heads of political blocs to meet with al-Sadr, but the latter is currently retiring from politics and does not meet with any political figure."
