On Wednesday, Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, discussed with the head of the United Nations mission in Iraq, Jenin Plaschaert, developments in the Iraqi political scene, in his office in the capital, Baghdad.  

  

 

  

A statement from Al-Amiri's office, seen by "Nass", stated that "the two sides discussed the overall political situation and the latest developments in the local scene, while stressing the need to end the political blockage and resolve the current crisis in preparation for the formation of the next government."  

  

For his part, Al-Amiri affirmed, according to the statement, "the Shiite framework's support for the initiative of the independents, which includes converging visions between the two parties, stressing the need to announce the formation of the largest bloc and guarantee the right of the largest social component."  

  

Al-Amiri explained, "The framework is open with everyone who wants to bring their views closer in order to reach a point of convergence and understanding in order to end the blockage and form a government capable of carrying out its responsibilities in providing services and all important files that achieve the interests of the Iraqi people."  

  

The "Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq" movement, which is affiliated with the coordination framework, revealed, earlier, the details of an "unofficially announced" initiative put forward by the coordination framework of the Sadrist bloc, regarding the formation of the government.  

  

The movement’s spokesman, Naim Al-Aboudi, said in an interview with his colleague Karim Hammadi, followed by “Nass” (May 29, 2022), “There are two visions in the issue of the Shiite component, the first represented by the coordination framework and the other by the Sadrist movement,” noting, “There were lengthy discussions behind Behind the scenes between the two parties, and there was a vision put forward by the framework that the Shiites should unite, as well as a paper drawn on the next stage, and there was a detailed discussion in this regard, but the Sadrist bloc refused and stuck to the majority and said: We are dealing with part of the framework.    

  

He added, "We have a vision in the coordinating framework, that it is incorrect to refer some blocs to the opposition, and this will cause problems."    

  

Commenting on the "reasons for fear of going to the opposition," Al-Aboudi said: "There is mistrust between the parties and there is fear of political repression, and we do not have institutions that protect the opposition."    

  

He pointed out that "until this moment, we have not reached a conclusion as political parties, but a few days ago there was an informal initiative by the framework, during which we told the Sadrist movement: Let us participate in the government to get out of the blockage. The framework has the right to veto the candidate if he does not want it.. and we, as Fatah and the rest of the framework parties, then announce going to the opposition, so what do you think?..but the Sadrists said we want the participation of Fatah and the forces of the state only in forming the government.    

  

He continued, "There are realistic possibilities for the political parties, and we expect a rapprochement between the framework and the Sadrist bloc in the coming days, and the stability of the Shiite forces will be reflected in the stability of the political situation."    

  

Earlier, the State of Law coalition expressed its hope for a national dialogue, while calling on the political blocs to come together.  

  

Jawad al-Bolani, a representative of the Parliamentary State of Law bloc that is part of the coordination framework, explained in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by "Nass" (May 24, 2022), that "the framework, the Sadrist bloc and the independents put forward initiatives and were close to each other, and the situation could devolve into a national dialogue. It results in a week of national consensus to produce a political plan and pass the blockage phase.” He called on “political blocs in general and influential decision-makers in the political scene to rapprochement with each other because of the commonalities that unite the sons of the same nation.”      

  

He added that "political stalemate is not strange to the political process in Iraq, after every election a new problem occurs, and although the elections are a national entitlement for all Iraqis, the low participation rate is a dangerous indicator, and if the political forces do not succeed in transcend this stage, the country will enter into A difficult situation," he added, adding: "But there is still hope for the political leaders to overcome this stage with the least possible losses, and the corresponding concessions by the political blocs to each other is a good thing for the benefit of the Iraqi people."      

  

Earlier, the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, discussed the latest political and security situation in the country with Turkey's ambassador to Iraq, Ali Konai.  

  

A statement by Al-Maliki’s media office, of which “Nass” received a copy, (May 23, 2022), stated that “Al-Maliki received in his office today, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Ali Reza Konai,” noting that “the two sides reviewed the developments in the political and security situation in the country, and they were also discussed.” To the bilateral relations between the two countries and aspects of cooperation in various fields, foremost of which is the security and economic field, as well as cooperation in resolving the water crisis afflicting Iraq, stressing the need to reach understandings between the two parties in a way that secures a fair water share for Iraq.        

  

Al-Maki referred to the "importance of stabilizing the pillars of stability in the region, easing tensions, working to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue, respecting the sovereignty of states and rejecting interference and attacks and everything that threatens security and stability."        

  

Al-Maliki expressed his "hope that a solution will be found to end the political impasse, especially after the emergence of a desire among many political forces to sit at the dialogue table," stressing the "necessity to speed up overcoming differences and cooperation in order to form a harmonious government that preserves the representation of social components and secures." The existence of a productive political opposition that corrects the course of the government’s work and provides a guarantee for the existing political system.”         

  

Earlier, Hadi al-Amiri, the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, said that the current stage requires everyone to "sacrifice" in order to end the political blockage, during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salah al-Din Muhammad Baha al-Din.  

  

And the media office of the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance stated in a statement that “Nas” received a copy of it (May 23, 2022), that “Amiri said, after receiving the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salah al-Din Muhammad Baha al-Din and his accompanying delegation, that the current stage requires everyone to sacrifice for the sake of Ending the political blockage.          

  

Al-Amiri added, "My great hope is that we will reach an agreement to resolve the political blockage and form the government as soon as possible in order to address the many problems that all the Iraqi people suffer from, from Al-Faw to Zakho.

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, discussed, on Wednesday, the developments of the Iraqi political scene, with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Hennis-Plasschaert.  

  

  

A statement from the office of the President of the Republic, a copy of which was received by "Nass", stated on June 1, 2022, that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Hennis-Plasschaert."  

  

He added, "During the meeting, they discussed the overall political, security and economic developments in the country, where it was emphasized the need to enhance security stability and pursue remnants of terrorism that seek to destabilize the security and stability of citizens in some regions and towns."  

  

The statement continued, "The importance of supporting the path of dialogue and convergence to get out of the current political impasse, and taking into account the many challenges facing the country, which call for aligning the national ranks, addressing outstanding issues in a spirit of responsibility, and embarking on meeting national entitlements in a way that lives up to the aspirations of Iraqis."

A statement by his office, of which Al-Furat News received a copy, stated that "during the meeting, the overall political, security and economic developments in the country were discussed, where the necessity of enhancing security stability and pursuing remnants of terrorism that seek to destabilize the security and stability of citizens in some areas and towns were emphasized."

The two sides also stressed "the importance of supporting the path of dialogue and convergence to get out of the current political impasse, and taking into consideration the many challenges facing the country that call for the unity of the national ranks, addressing outstanding issues in a spirit of responsibility, and embarking on meeting the national entitlements in a way that lives up to the aspirations of the Iraqis."

Shafaq News/ Head of Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Shiite coordination framework supports the initiative of independent representatives to form the next government.

This came during a meeting with the head of the United Nations mission in Iraq, Jenin Plasschaert, in his office in the capital, Baghdad, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.

According to the statement, the two sides discussed "the overall political situation and the latest developments in the local scene, while stressing the need to end the political blockage and resolve the current crisis in preparation for the formation of the next government."

For his part, al-Amiri, one of the leaders of the Shiite coordination framework, affirmed the latter's support for "the initiative of the independents, which includes converging visions between the two parties," stressing the "necessity of announcing the formation of the largest bloc and ensuring the right of the largest social component."

Al-Amiri explained that "the framework is open with everyone who wants to bring their views closer in order to reach a point of convergence and understanding in order to end the blockage and form a government capable of carrying out its responsibilities in providing services and all important files that achieve the interests of the Iraqi people."

And on May 15, 2022, members of the Iraqi parliament from the "independents" announced a roadmap to solve the political impasse in the country and form the next government, and it included seven points.

The "Independent Representatives and Emerging Movements" presented their initiative through a press conference they held, at the parliament building.
