Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced, on Monday, the improvement of energy supplies in all governorates of the country, attributing the reason for this to "the moderation of the climate and the availability of alternative fuels."

The Ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, told Shafaq News Agency, "The mild climate in this season, and the high coordination with the Ministry of Oil to provide alternative fuels to operate the generating units after the decline in gas imports from Iran to 8.5 million cubic meters per day, is behind the improvement in energy and supplying citizens with electricity for hours. semi-integrated in all governorates.

Moussa added that "the improvement in electrical energy also came from the introduction of some obstetric units for service that were under periodic and emergency maintenance, and the provision of materials necessary to maintain and improve the network, and to break the bottlenecks on the electricity networks."

The capital, Baghdad, and a number of governorates are witnessing a significant improvement in the supply of electric power, which in some areas has reached 24 hours a day, and for periods that lasted for more than five days and continuously.

Iraq has been suffering from a chronic electricity shortage crisis for decades, as a result of the siege and successive wars; Residents have been protesting for many years against the frequent power cuts, especially in the summer, when the temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius.

The official ministry spokesman Ahmed Moussa Abadi, in a press statement that "Based on the direct guidance of Prime Minister Mustafa Kazemi, the ministry is determined to proceed with the project e-collection, there is a study presented and discussed extensively previously, and now re-study developed to be appropriate and suitable for the development of the national grid And citizens to return their returns to electricity, which contributes to its development.”
He added, "Therefore, we intend to prepare a study within ten days to be submitted to the Cabinet regarding electronic collection projects, as we are studying the possibility of developing the type of scale and distribution network while studying the transformation of irregular subscribers to regular consumers, but the possibility that not only citizens, in addition to The meters are focused on the 11 and 33 feeders, to be concerned with controlling consumption first, and secondly to be concerned with monitoring even the collection officer in terms of collecting the collection money, and not to manipulate the financial returns.
Abadi said that " the electronic collection will be concerned to notify citizens to the cost of the energy industry prohibitive, they will be involved in the rationalization of consumption, in particular the idea of electronic collection is the citizen to regulate consumption, and rationalization, the fact that excessive consumption would constitute additional income on his pocket," pointing out that "The project will provide imports and maximize collection resources for the benefit of electricity."
Regarding the delay in the collection file that has been going on for years, Al-Abadi revealed that “there are several reasons for the file’s reluctance, including the large number of slum areas that have been slated for expansion and agriculture.”
And he stated, "Until today, the coverage of the electricity service is not ideally suited, as these areas are sorted without the knowledge of the Ministry of Electricity to make it keep pace with the demand, and thus affect the work, especially since the Ministry works within legal limits, and within controls that do not allow monitoring and monitoring, For the irregular areas, which leads to it being consuming energy, but not being used.”
He added: "The service and tax projects that the Ministry had previously intended to undertake were successful, in and of themselves, but the implementation criteria were not successful in some parts, and the evidence is that some companies succeeded and some did not, as the ministry terminated the contract with the unsuccessful companies, as for the successful companies."  The Energy Committee in the former House of Representatives had confirmed that only 7% is the rate of levying the Ministry of Electricity for the service it provides to citizens in Baghdad and the provinces.
Abadi said that "the ministry in the process of preparing a new study entails moving to reduce Alziaat and maximize collection resources and the delivery of electricity to the informal areas and making them consumers irregulars, as well as seeking to strengthen distribution networks and installation of smart standards contributes to the guidance of citizens to the legalization of consumption."
In terms of the kinds of collection, said the official spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity and there is a paragraph legal under the 2021 budget law provides for the deduction of collection of public budgets of the ministries that have yields, and therefore it is at the present time divides the subject of collection to a two-fold collection of centralized, self-collection, the central is what processed It provides energy for government departments and institutions, and the self is what the Ministry of Electricity, through its teams, collects from citizens as a result of consumption, which prepares them with energy, what constitutes the consumption and purchase of materials for the employees, projects and supplies. through the collection money.”

The Information/Baghdad..
The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Sunday, achieving an increase in the volume of production estimated at 6 times more than it was in 2003, stressing that its losses as a result of the occupation of a number of provinces by ISIS gangs amounted to 12 billion dollars, in addition to depriving the system of 6 thousand megawatts of available power.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah" newspaper, which was seen by "The Information", that "the ministry is one of the largest ministries that has worked to develop its infrastructure during the past period, as the development volume reached 5 to 6 times what it was in 2003. At the time, production was 3,400 megawatts, while it has now exceeded 21,000 as productive energy distributed among citizens throughout the country. Iraq had 6 thousand kilometers of transmission lines in 2003, and now there is talk of 32,800 kilometers of carrier lines.
Al-Abadi added, “The failure to keep pace with the current production demand is due to several factors, including the continuous displacement to city centers and the continued disintegration of agricultural and slum areas, and the increase in demand for energy consumption as a result of the increase in family holdings and the necessities of life, and the lack of a standardization and quality control device that controls the devices supplied and tied to the The electrical network, the lack of rationing and the lack of awareness of the high cost of energy that the electricity industry costs, and therefore the current production in the event of rationalization will provide electricity to citizens for 24 hours throughout Iraq, but the extravagance and abuse of the electrical network harm the hours of electricity supply.”
He pointed out that "what the infrastructure of the electricity sector has been exposed to over the past period, especially in the governorates that were occupied by (ISIS) gangs, had a great impact, as the production losses in the system in those governorates amounted to 6 thousand megawatts of available energy, in addition to material losses. Which exceeded $12 billion, according to the data of the Financial Supervision Bureau, as a result of the destruction of its infrastructure in those governorates.
Al-Abadi pointed out that “the rehabilitation of this sector in those governorates requires allocating funds for the value of what was damaged, in addition to the amounts of service provision for the return of the displaced, and therefore the ministry has taken charge of large sums of money to restore electricity to those governorates, relying on self-efforts by the technical and engineering staff.” finished/25

Electricity Partnership

Saturday 15 January 2022 145Electricity Partnership

 Thamer Al-Haims

We have previously dealt with the issue of twinning the public and private sectors, for the purpose of moving the latter towards establishing a new investment field, closer to the mixed sector. What was one of the main reasons that prevented the development of this facility to cover the need?
As an alternative to this lack of equipment, we have, over the past 19 years, have more than one hundred thousand generators, whose subscribers are almost ten times what they pay for the national electricity.
This duplication and disparity persists, despite the government’s loss and the limited capacity of the private or subsidized generator (i.e. the generators that were delivered to the contractors by the national electricity), so the private and governmental generator can be twinned, for the purpose of fully meeting the national electricity entitlements, according to proposed conditions represented first by reducing the price of a liter of diesel supplied For owners of generators from 650 dinars to 400 dinars, continue the generator, and they can also be unified to equip the same subscribers, so that the generator owner pays his right and the right of the national after providing him with a gauge reader for the list, which does not exceed both payments what the citizen will pay to the generator owner according to the new ampere price, which decreased with the price of diesel .
The owners of generators and their workers are also obliged to pay social security contributions, like any insured workers, and have their own fund, and to pay the contributions for the past period to encourage them to serve the public interest.
Here, it is necessary to hold a consultative meeting with the generator owners to organize the logistics of work, and the problems encountered by the slums, who do not have electricity meters, and to benefit from the experience of the Kurdistan region since the nineties of the previous century, and how to deal with the problem, as by fulfilling the right of the national electricity service by 90% % will restore the activity of this basic facility, thanks to which the wheel of the industry will spin and the possibility of supporting it through surplus value in selling its services in a way that ensures its economic feasibility.
By organizing this service, the national electricity, with its civil partners, will be ready to receive the Gulf connection and others, so that the electricity will be a reason for the development of modern industry and agriculture, and that the generators will remain because they will be perhaps more economically beneficial than imported electricity in any case. At least the horizon.
Our hope remains in our existing refineries and the near future refineries in Al-Faw and Holy Karbala, to meet the momentum of the growing industry demand, and that oil may decline in its influence at the end of the current decade, which makes it our first means for our sustainable development to get out of the oil bottle neck, which is controlled by storms of conflicts. And the problem of global warming, hence the rapid pace of the crucial element.

Does any of this include pocketing the money and putting the last energy plan from Malarki's time in office on line?

There is an abandoned half finished power plant down SE near Iran. Let them finish that first. Financial hardship with the oil windfall they are going through now?

  Baghdad: Ali Mowaffaq

Despite the Baghdad governorate specifying monthly ampere price instructions, some generator owners are still indifferent to them, as the price has now risen to range between 20-25 thousand dinars, which aroused the grumbling of citizens in the capital’s regions.
And the Baghdad governorate set, at the beginning of this month, the price of the ampere at 7 thousand dinars for normal operation from 12 noon to 1 at night, and 12 thousand dinars for golden operation 24 hours alternately with the national electricity.
A group of residents of Al-Bayaa, Al-Dora, Al-Shaab, New Baghdad and Al-Ghazaliya told Al-Sabah that, "Despite the relative improvement in the supply of national electricity, some of the generators' owners are still charging wages ranging from 20-25 thousand per ampere."
They pointed out that "there was a slight decrease in the ampere price during Ramadan, but it rose again this month to the mentioned prices," wondering at the same time about "the feasibility of equipping generators with kerosene by the Ministry of Oil in light of the same prices."
