In an interview with (Baghdad Today), the source said, "There is mounting parliamentary pressure for the prime minister and his security ministers to come to Baquba to hold a session on Diyala's security in a comprehensive manner, especially with the recent bloody violations that sparked popular anger, especially with the fall of more victims despite The large number of military operations in pursuit of ISIS cells. He added, "According to the information, Al-Kazemi pledged to visit Diyala soon with his security ministers and to see directly the nature of the situation and the most important reasons behind the recurrence of bloody violations," stressing that "3 important files will be on the table of his next visit, namely security, the displaced and changes in the government institution, especially with the presence of A parliamentary request in this direction. The source expected, "Important decisions will be issued in the three files, especially as they will represent the fulfillment of demands on which there is unanimity, whether from representatives or elites in Diyala."

Water Resources implements a "major" campaign to address water scarcity and completes the 300-well project in Diyala

Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Water Resources announced today, Thursday, the implementation of "important" projects in the governorates that have been subjected to water scarcity, and while it indicated that it is completing work on a project (300) wells in Diyala, it confirmed the implementation of a major campaign to lift the abuses of the main river courses and irrigation networks.

 

The government media cell said, "The ministry has implemented important and vital projects in the governorates that have been exposed to the effects of water scarcity more than others, such as Diyala Governorate, such as the project of the Baqubah liquefaction reinforcement station and the strengthening of the Khurasan River from the Tigris River with drilling water wells near the liquefaction and villages far from surface water sources."

 

The statement added, "The ministry has also implemented (200) wells throughout Diyala governorate as part of the (300) well campaign, and currently work is underway to implement the last (100) wells of the campaign, with the ministry's major campaign to lift violations of the main river courses and irrigation networks and raise pumps. The crossing and filling of irregular outlets, the continuation of dredging works, and the removal of sediments from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and canals.

 

The statement added that these measures are "in order to provide water for all in fairness, with the ministry seeking in international forums to obtain the country's water share from upstream countries and applying the principle of sharing damage in times of scarcity and abundance, with the need for all ministries to cooperate with the Ministry of Water Resources in order to overcome the water scarcity crisis." ".

 

These measures come after the rains receded for three seasons in a row, the effects of climatic changes on the world and the region, the high average temperatures and the decrease in the rates of the amounts of rain falling with the accompanying measures of the upstream countries in reducing or cutting some rivers, which caused a severe shortage of water revenues and the size of storage water of the country.
