The United States is seriously considering the possibility of canceling the tariffs imposed by the administration of former US President Donald Trump on Chinese goods.

"Imposing or eliminating tariffs is an issue we're actively studying. It leads to the broader question of how we can benefit from international trade for the benefit of US residents, and our consumers," White House National Economic Council Director Brian Dees said, according to CNN.

According to him, the United States, within the framework of President Joe Biden's visit to Japan on May 23, will launch an initiative on the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

He continued, "A platform is being created in order to focus on economic issues that will be more important to Americans. For example, securing supplies."
