Business as usual! Next window of opportunity 1-1-23! Just another short 7 months! But who's counting! JMHO 🤠

And yet the last devaluation of the IQD was in the month of December.  And yet in May 2021 we find this quote (five months after the exchange rate change in December 2020]:

"It was supposed that the new exchange rate will remain for one year, but the agreement of the political forces and the government breached the agreement that said the exchange rate of the dollar remains the same until 2025." the [Iraq’s Parliamentary Economic and Investment] Committee member Nada Shaker Jawdat said.

So keep your seat belts fastened and your hands in the car, the ride will not be over in '23 or '24.

Would they lie to the world? Sure. Why would they tell you the truth? They don't want speculators making money. :twocents:

...and sell them ( & their daughters too ) if there's a profit to be made. How do I know this ? Because Iraqi's I have known have told me they have witnessed this: they speak of their outrage & sadness that this still goes on.

Iraqis are not the only ones who do this. It is rare in the United States but does happen. It happens in India, Taiwan and other places that you would never think of. One of the biggest is when an overseas bride wants to bring her children with her and the husband refuses to relinquish parental rights. The other parent demands that the husband to be pay that parent a large sum of money. Some wouldn't think of this as selling of children but it is. Take a look at the dowry system. Is that a system of selling a child? In some ways yes. One can find profit in everything as it just depends on how sleazy they want to be to find it.  (everything I have said is still going on in 2022 and beyond with no changing the system although India seems to be budging a little.)
