iraq's oil exports to the united states rose to 235,000 barrels per day (bpd), surpassing saudi arabia last week, the u.s. energy information administration (iea) said saturday.
"the average u.s. crude oil imports over the past week from nine countries were 4.640,000 barrels per day, down 206,000 barrels per day from the previous week of 4.846,000 barrels," the administration said in a report.
"the united states imported crude oil from iraq at a rate of 235,000 barrels per day, up from 41,000 barrels per day a day earlier," the report said.
"america's most oil revenues over the past week came from canada at an average of 2.924,000 barrels per day, followed by mexico, which had imports of 434,000 barrels per day, followed by colombia, which had imports at a rate of 278,000 barrels per day, and ecuador at a rate of 257,000 barrels per day," he said.
"the amount of crude oil imports from saudi arabia was 224,000 barrels per day, followed by nigeria, which imported 157,000 barrels per day, followed by russia, which imported 67,000 barrels per day, followed by brazil, with imports at 64,000 barrels per day," the u.s. energy information administration report said.
