The source told Shafaq News Agency, that a security force arrested a naturalized Iraqi-American (transgendered) as a result of a quarrel with a restaurant owner inside the hotel. He pointed out that the detainee had many complaints about electronic blackmail against Iraqi artists and women. In turn, another well-informed source told our agency that this (transgender) was born in Baghdad and traveled to the United States to undergo the process of gender transition. Al-Tamimi said in an interview with the “Information” agency, that “the Iraqi Penal Code punished in Article 452 of it with 7 years imprisonment for extortion or forcing others to hand over money and other things through threat.” Noting that "the penalty is up to 10 years in prison if the extortion is through force or coercion."
