Covid Vaccinations Have Saved 2.2 Million US Lives

As the U.S. closes in on 1 million deaths from Covid-19, a new analysis finds that the death toll would have been far higher in the absence of vaccines.

A report from The Commonwealth Fund, a non-partisan health care foundation, estimates that 2.2 million deaths were averted in the U.S. between December 12, 2020, and March 31, 2022, due to the vaccination program. In addition, vaccines prevented about 17 million hospitalizations and 66 million infections, all while saving nearly $900 billion in health care costs.

The chart from the report below shows the researchers’ estimate of how many deaths per 100,000 people would have occurred in the absence of vaccines. Deaths would have at more than 24,000 per day, far above the 4,300 per day that were actually recorded, the researchers said.

Calling for more preparation: The analysis underscores the importance of funding efforts to combat the pandemic, and the researchers called on lawmakers to remain vigilant. “Redoubling efforts to increase vaccine uptake, especially among the elderly and other vulnerable groups, will be critical to avert outbreaks as pandemic restrictions are lifted,” they wrote. “With continued spread of the BA.2 subvariant, our findings point to the tremendous power of vaccination to reduce disease burden from COVID-19. This may be even more important if newer variants arise or population immunity ebbs. Without continued funding, the lifesaving impact of vaccinations are at risk.”

In a statement Friday, the Biden administration highlighted the report while taking some credit for the lives saved. “This is the result of the Biden Administration’s efforts to use every tool to make vaccinations easy and convenient for every American, Congress providing us the vital resources we needed, and the American people stepping up and doing their part,” White House COVID-⁠19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients said.

Former President Donald Trump has also claimed credit for the vaccine effort, which began under his administration. But Trump’s record on the issue is controversial, with deaths rising far higher in Republican-leaning states amid much higher levels of vaccine skepticism among his supporters.

Looking forward, Zients reminded Americans that the virus is still a threat and repeated the administration’s call for more money to fund the ongoing federal response to the pandemic – funding that has been held up by political squabbles in Washington. “Unfortunately, Republicans in Congress are now holding up critical funding we need to make even more progress – to save even more lives,” he said. “Make no mistake: Inaction will leave our nation less prepared for any future surges and variants. It will mean fewer vaccines, treatments, and tests for the American people. This is deeply disappointing – and it should be unacceptable to every American. We’ve worked too hard and come too far to leave ourselves and our economy vulnerable to an unpredictable virus. The virus is not waiting on Congress to negotiate. Congress must act with urgency.”

A vaccine prevents one from catching the disease they were vaccinated for. This experimental mRNA DOES NOT do any of this. caddieman you remind me of my Brother-in-Law. He drinks ALL that liberal koolaide, still doesn't believe any of the alternative treatments (like imervectin) work even though his sister (my wife) had 2 shots and still caught the virus. It was kicking her ass until I got imvermectin for her. Did what the shots didn't. She began to feel better within 1 day. Like my B-I-L I bet you have had your 4th shot also.

You believe what you believe and I support that 100%. And I will be getting my 4th shot in June. I haven’t had Covid once. Now there are many who haven’t had the Covid shot here that have Covid not once but twice. They have all had a good out come thank GOD! Me I will stick with the science. As a son of a Doctor and that is the direction I lean. Covid shot is not for everyone but you can’t dispute the fact they have saved lives!

This makes me sick. Our schools where I live went back on time in 2020. We as parents were given a choice to have our kids stay home and do remote learning or they could come to school, it was up to us. But they went back and kids didn't get sick and die all over the place. This Admin and the Teachers Unions should be ashamed and held accountable for all the missteps taken concerning this here. They knew what was taking place with our children yet they keep pushing for more control over our lives.

Science runs in many direstions, many times there is more than one solution to a problem. You believe the shots save lives, but I bet you would have a hard time convincing the loved ones of the dead that took those shots, had adverse reactions and died, especially when something as effective and safe was available from the git go. Staggering COVID-19 Statistic: 98% to 99% of Americans Dying are Unvaccinated

 

 

If you have decided to not get vaccinated against COVID-19, a new data analysis from The Associated Press concludes you may have a higher risk of dying compared to those who have chosen to be vaccinated.

The analysis was released in May of 2021 and looks at COVID-19 related deaths in vaccinated versus unvaccinated individuals—only .8% (150) of vaccinated people accounted for the 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May.

With this staggering statistic, Andy Slavitt, a former adviser to the Biden administration on COVID-19 suggested that 98% to 99% of the Americans dying of the coronavirus are unvaccinated.

“The pandemic is not over,” said Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership Campus Dean Dr. Shelley Nuss. “I strongly advise everyone to consider getting a vaccine and to discuss this with their health care provider. Cases are rising throughout the United States in large part due to the particularly virulent delta strain.”

The state of Georgia itself has seen a surge cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in recent weeks. The daily average of cases on July 26 stood around 2,002 per day, 1,417 hospitalizations per day, and nine deaths per day. All statistics are the largest numbers the state has seen since January and February of 2021.

“Data has shown that nearly all individuals with severe illness, hospitalization or death from COVID-19 have been in unvaccinated individuals” said Nuss.

As of Monday, July 26, only 38% of Georgians are fully vaccinated, which is well below the national vaccination average of 49.7%.  New COVID-19 cases are surging where vaccination rates are low.

According to CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the vaccine is so effective that “nearly every death, especially among adults, due to COVID-19, is, at this point, entirely preventable.” She called such deaths “particularly tragic.”

As of July 22, 339.8 million vaccine doses have been administered—56.4% of the total U.S. population, have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 48.8% of have been fully vaccinated.

Experts are hoping this staggering number of one-sided fatalities will be the wake-up call for more Americans to get vaccinated.

The only way the FDA could get an emergency "vaccine" approved is if there is no alternative medicine available. Hence the push to down play or even vilify "not approved for CV-19" use of drugs. It was political from the start.

That's because the accepted science, prior to C19 development, and now again on the CDC's website, has always been the strongest form of immunity, and always will be.
