The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired, this Sunday afternoon, a security meeting of security and military leaders, in the presence of the Ministers of Defense and Interior.

 

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of implementing the security plans for the blessed month of Ramadan, following up on the security operations that pursue the defeated ISIS remnants and clearing its hideouts, as well as measures to protect electric power transmission towers, focus the intelligence effort and the outcome of its results.

The Prime Minister praised the performance of our heroic armed forces, the growth of their executive capabilities, and the acceleration of indicators of building security and military capabilities.

During the meeting, His Excellency stressed his previous directives to raise the level of attention and security focus during the blessed month of Ramadan, intensify the intelligence effort, and protect vital sites and infrastructure.

 

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed that enhancing the role of our armed forces and improving their performance requires exerting more effort and dedicating the latest technical and training methods and means.

During the meeting, it was decided to adopt measures to enhance military capabilities and capabilities, prepare and complete model camps outside cities, keep pace with technological development in the armament aspect, and enhance participation in international exhibitions and global activities in this regard.

The meeting approved a set of decisions aimed at enhancing the level of performance of air bases and rehabilitating them in all respects. To be among the best air bases for the armies of the world, rehabilitating the stores of equipment currently used and upgrading their specifications as needed, as well as intensifying the procedures that strengthen the rest of the supporting types and essential to raise the security and military performance.

Shafaq News/ A security source said early on Saturday, that a directive was issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to stop the vacations for commanders in the security forces.

The source mentioned; The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, directed the suspension of periodic vacations until further notice for each of the Ministry of Defense/operations commanders and the controlling teams and headquarters.

He added that the directive includes the Ministry of the Interior / leaders of the federal police and commanders of the regions to lead the border forces, the Anti-Terrorism Agency / leaders of special operations, and the Popular Mobilization Authority, the leaders of the axes.

He added that the suspension of licenses will include the Baghdad Operations Command / leaders of the advanced headquarters and team leaders, and the advanced headquarters of the Joint Operations Command / Kirkuk / the commander of the advanced headquarters and teams.

He indicated that these directives were issued due to the recent events in Maysan, Erbil and Kirkuk.
