Remember, no one really  knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... :twothumbs:RON

*** Frank26  [ Iraq boots-on-the-ground TV Report ] FIREFLY: We now see that the Finance Minister is saying that since Iraq has paid off Kuwait and officially cleared, next Iraq will officially be cleared of Chapter VII sanctions on February 22nd...

*** MilitiaMan  The dissolution of the committee with the UNSC on Chapter VII is slated for finality on 02/22/2022.. I suspect the IMF will make the decision to accept the new exchange rate and re instate the IQD to Article VIII...Let's see what they do next. I’ll bet it is going to be powerful!!!

*** Jeff   The reforms are waiting on the formation of the government and the next reform step is the rate change.  Basically everything's waiting on the formation of that government and then we can all get blessed with our rate change.

*** Nader From The Mid East  We don't want it like that.  We wanted at least 1 to 1.  We don't want it on 125 or 144.  We don't give a damn about that.  Seriously we don't give a damn.  You know we're tired.  Listen.  Each time I travel for business, for anything like that, it cost me a lot of money.  Tell you the truth sometimes I travel for business I lose money...125 doesn't change anything for us.  We have to go back at 2002/2003.  The rate have to go back to normal.  This is not normal guys.  This message is not for you guys.  This message is for the government of Iraq.  It's for the CBI...I want to reach the government of Iraq.  I want to reach my government.  I want to reach my people to let them know that's it's enough.

Luigi found this article of Dinarian interests...

It's happening right before our very eyes.

Treat as a rumor.  Not verified.  Your opine.

Pimpy:

ARTICLE: Baghdad markets are closed due to the decline of the USD exchange rate.  "That's interesting"

QUOTE: The exchange rate of the Dollar fell against the IQD.  That is exactly what we want - the USD to go down against the IQD.  That means the IQD is gaining in value against the USD.

For Information Only from the most Interesting Man In The World!

Suppose the rate changes a little........That would be the beginning only.  Stick with the investment and watch as Iraq rises to become one of the largest oil producers in this area.  The IQD will most likely float to near the old Sadam rate of over $3 to 1 IQD very quickly.  International businesses will rush to become a part of Iraqs economy sort of like the Gold Rush!  Be patient and get my Bently and Kuwaiti Bayside Condo in Salmiya ready!  You are all invited for the party!!  And thats all I have to say about that!

Jeff says that the rate will change when they get their government together.   We have heard that before.  Just like the rate is in the budget, when they get out of chapter 7, on the 1st of January, before Ramadan, after Ramadan, after the 3 day holiday, and a bunch of other reasons that they come up with.   Time will tell....:rocking-chair:

Ooops.  Fire started from lithium ion batteries on electric cars catching fire?  Sure helps build confidence in the electric vehicle industry.  And, these were the top-of-the line manufacturers (well, maybe with VW being the exception) so makes one wonder about all the rest.
