*** MilitiaMan  Article: "Mazhar Muhammad Salih talks about the dollar exchange rate in the general budget"  IMO this sort of article from Salih is and was expected to come out...Quote: "The Central Bank of Iraq revealed the fact of the move to raise the dollar exchange rate and fix it at the price of 150 thousand dinars for the $100 bill."  If the fact is that the rate is to be fixed at 1500 that means they are right where they want be. Drop the three zeros and wa la.. $1.50 IQD / $1.00 USD...IMO 


*** Mnt Goat  Remember currently the IQD RATE is NOT reflecting the true IQD VALUE...legally they needed to get out of all sanctions and now with the release from Chapter VII fully and the Center for Banking Studies organized a symposium on removing Iraq from the European Union’s list of high-risk countries. Can the news get any better. Hang in there and be patient the gift if coming to us…

fu**ers! going to go from 1460 to 1500? many say the move from 1190 to 1460 hurt the poor more than any other group and I'd imagine a move to 1500 would make it even worse! Everyday iraqis need to make some heads roll if that happens! literally!

 

They won't put it at 1500 then immediately drop 3 numbers,,,they'd need to talk about it and study it ad nauseam!

Per the articles, they won't be changing it anytime some. Doesn't mean that the CBI can't add Purchasing Power to the 1460.
