Shafaq News/ The State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki, one of the most important poles of the Shiite coordination framework, revealed on Wednesday, the framework's intention to submit a referendum to the Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority in Iraq) to clarify its ruling on one-third of the number of members of the Iraqi parliament or its interpretation.

Thaer Mukhif, the coalition representative, told Shafak News Agency that if we fail to reach a political consensus that guarantees the nomination of the President of the Republic during the next session on April 6, a referendum will be submitted to the Federal Court to clarify a ruling or reinterpret a third to determine the procedures or steps to be followed to expedite government formation.

And the Iraqi parliament failed for the third time in a row to hold a session to elect the country's new president.

After the failure of a first attempt on February 7 last, the Iraqi parliament announced last Saturday that it was unable again to elect a president of the republic, due to the lack of a quorum of two-thirds (more than 220 deputies out of 329) due to the boycott of the coordination framework that represents prominent Shiite parties, such as the “Dawla” bloc. The Law” headed by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, and the “Al-Fateh” coalition, the umbrella under which the pro-Iranian Popular Mobilization factions belong.

There are forty candidates for the presidency of the republic, but the actual competition is limited to two figures representing the two most prominent Kurdish parties: the current president since 2018 Barham Salih, the candidate of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and Reber Ahmed, the candidate of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. It is assumed that the candidate gets the votes of two-thirds of the House of Representatives to win.

In addition, an informed source revealed to Shafaq News Agency that "among the paragraphs of the framework initiative to be presented is naming a prime minister who is acceptable to all, and distributing ministerial portfolios according to the electoral maturity only."

Today, Wednesday, the Shiite coordination framework announced an initiative to address the blockage in the political process, noting that the tripartite alliance did not present an initiative that would ensure the political process from collapsing.

Baghdad / Al-Mawrid News

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, stressed today, Wednesday, that the citizen will not be subject to subordination, occupation and quotas .

Al-Sadr said in a tweet to him, "I will not agree with you, as agreement means the end of the country ."

He added, "No to compromise in all its forms. What you call a political blockage is easier than agreeing with you and better than sharing the cake with you. There is no good in a government that agrees on allotment ."

He explained, "How will you agree with the blocs while you are arguing against all the components and all the partners you are trying to win over to your camp? "

And he addressed his speech to the people, "Oh, the Iraqi people, I will not bring you back to your previous tragedies, and this is a false promise. The country will not be subject to dependence, occupation, normalization and quotas, and the people will never bow to them ."

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Wednesday said that he will not reach an agreement with political parties calling for a consensus government, claiming that a consensus would mean the end of the country.

“I will not have an agreement with you … for a consensus means the end of the country... no to any form of consensus,” said Sadr in a tweet after the Iraqi parliament failed to meet the legal quorum to elect a new president yet again at least six months after Iraq held early elections.

The Iraqi parliament was scheduled to elect a president on Wednesday. Over a third of MPs boycotted the session, leading to the legislature’s inability to elect a president.

According to information obtained by Rudaw, only 176 MPs attended the Wednesday parliamentary session, falling short of the required 220 MPs.

Footages from Telegram channels affiliated with pro-Iran political parties showed leaders of the Coordination Framework and MPs gathering at the residence of Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Shiite Fatih Alliance, instead of attending the parliamentary session.

MPs of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Azm Alliance, New Generation Movement, and various independents also boycotted the session.

In an address to local media outlets, Amiri called on the tripartite alliance consisting of the Sadrist bloc, KDP, and the Sunni Sovereignty Alliance to shift to dialogue in order to remove Iraq from the current political crisis.

“Our hearts are open and hands are extended to everyone in order to reach a solution for Iraq's problem,” Amiri said, adding that “there is a good opportunity in front of the tripartite alliance to shift to dialogue in order to solve the current crisis.”

However Sadr refused Amiri’s offer of dialogue.

“What you call a political gridlock, is more moderate than an agreement with you and better than sharing the cake with you, for there is no good in a quota-based consensus government,” Sadr said.

The primary candidates for the presidency are the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) Reber Ahmed, backed by the tripartite alliance, and PUK’s incumbent Barham Salih backed by the Coordination Framework.

While the political stalemate in Iraq is seen to be because of the PUK and the KDP’s disagreement on having a mutual candidate, Shiite parties are also broken into two with the Sadrists calling for a national majority government that would exclude the Coordination Framework, and the framework insisting on a consensus government, a system that Iraq has abided by for years following the US invasion of the country in 2003.

ERBIL — The leader of Sadrist Movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, has promised to make no compromise with the pro-Iran groups of the Coordination Framework over the formation of the new government of Iraq.

The statement was published on Sadr’s official Twitter account on Wednesday after the Iraqi Parliament once again failed to convene two-third of the MPs to elect the new president of Iraq and proceed with the formation of the government.

It was the third failed attempt by the legislature since the beginning of a political deadlock.

Sadr said a political deadlock is better in favor of Iraq than making deal with the Coordination Framework which could lead the country to its demise.

“I will not take you back to the disastrous era of the past,” Sadr promised to the people of Iraq, stressing that he will not allow the country to be under the influence of others.

This is with him and we support him."

However, he added, "As for the door being open to all Sunnis and all Kurds, and only not to all Shiites, we do not believe that this is the correct understanding of the majority," adding, "We hope, expect, hope and work with all our partners, and in the coming days we will send an initiative and hope to reach a stage Putting the interests of the nation ahead of personal accounts and convictions.

The framework talks about an “initiative” to get out of the “political blockage”: we will present it in the coming hours

Baghdad - people

On Thursday, the coordination framework revealed its intention to put forward an initiative in the coming hours to find a solution to end the "political blockage".

A member of the coordination framework, Aref Al-Hamami, said in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by "Nass" (March 31, 2022), "We were expecting that yesterday's session would not achieve a quorum, which we mentioned earlier, which is not new, especially since the numbers of the tripartite alliance have decreased a lot. There are many withdrawals from the Sunni side, in addition to the fact that the extension movement suffers from street pressure on it.”

He added that "the number of the coordination framework has now increased than it was during the first session," noting that "there is an initiative from the framework that will be put forward in the coming hours to find a solution to the political blockage in the political process," expecting that "the session for selecting the president of the republic will be postponed until next week before the end of the session." constitutional term.

Sheikh Khazali unveils the features of the Coordination Framework Initiative

{Politics: Al Furat News} The Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais Khazali, revealed today, Wednesday, the features of the special initiative for the coordination framework to break the political blockage.

Sheikh Al-Khazali said, in a speech that: "The coordination framework initiative depends on the specifications of the prime ministers and the republic, and it will be launched to everyone in the national space, and all the Shiite framework is with the agreement, not everyone is with participation in the government."
"In the coming days, we will send the framework initiative, and we hope that everyone will give priority to the national interest," he added.
And Sheikh Khazali said, "The correct path is in understanding and agreement, not consensus, and the consensus that we reject is the distribution of quotas between the components, and we differentiate between consensus and agreement."
He explained, "Meetings were held between the framework and those allied with it, due to the presence of an initiative to get us out of the political blockage, and what is meant by Al-Attar's mixture means sharing the spoils and the ministries."
Sheikh Khazali noted, "
He expressed, "his hope that there will be a real majority in everything, and we are with him and support him."
Sheikh Khazali went on to say, "We stipulate that the right of the largest component not be lost and that we have an opinion in choosing the prime minister, and we support the presence of a majority, but in its correct form and on its terms and conditions."
Sheikh Khazali concluded, "All political forces affiliated with the Shiite framework are with the need for an agreement on forming the government, and a not small part within the framework does not want to participate in the government."

Political sources familiar with the scenes of the political movement revealed that the coordination framework initiative comes as part of a new Iranian push for the two sides of the crisis to reach a compromise solution.

The sources said that the leader of the Sadrist movement puts several red lines in front of any initiative that does not guarantee his right to form the new government, pointing to the new movement may include an understanding on this matter, but the most important thing in the coordination framework, on the other hand, is that the right to form a government remains the preserve of the largest bloc in Parliament. Which should be from the Shiite political forces only.

Al-Sadr is proving to be the antidote to the Al-Maliki Trojan (i.e., Iranian) horse.

Still surprised at that as Al-Sadr toddled off to Iran when the IRGC terrorist Sulimani met his maker.

Al-Sadr has certainly appeared a bit flighty over the years regards his loyalties, but he also appears to be leveraging his 'million man' army in a nationalist way and against cronyism and secularism, and more importantly the billionaire, pro-Iranian Al-Maliki.

ERBIL — Iraqi Shia cleric and leader of the Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, has given the Coordination Framework 40 days to form the new government without his bloc.

Sadr said in a statement on Twitter that he will step back from the process of the government formation and allow his opponents to begin negotiations with all parties, except the Sadrist Movement, in this regard.

"I’m giving [the obstructing third] the opportunity to negotiate with all the blocs without any exceptions, to form a national majority government without the Sadrist bloc, from the first day of the holy Ramadan month to the ninth day of the venerated Shawal month," the Shia cleric added.

This comes as the Iraqi parliament was set to hold a session on Wednesday to elect a new president for the country. The session was adjourned after over a third of the lawmakers refused to attend it.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the Sadrist Movement, and al-Siyada recently announced the formation of Save the Homeland Alliance. The three sides have more 150 seats in addition to backing from some other lawmakers.

Baghdad - Iraq today:

A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives revealed that “intense” meetings were held by the Sadrist movement, in order to come up with results that “serve the public interest.”

A member of the Iraqi parliament from the Sadrist bloc, Raed Al-Fatlawi, said, "There are measures that the Sadrist movement can take, and we have His Eminence Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr and the political body, and there are intense meetings now since yesterday night, Wednesday, to today. We hope that they will come out with results that serve the public interest."

As for the possibility of the Sadrist bloc going to the opposition option, as promoted by some political parties, Al-Fatlawi responded by saying that “every incident has a conversation.”

It is noteworthy that the deputies of the coordination framework and their allies did not attend the parliament session on Wednesday, but went to hold a meeting at the headquarters of the Badr Organization, in the Jadriya district of the capital, Baghdad.
