The Sadrist movement, which issued the results of the parliamentary elections that took place on the tenth of last October, seeks to weave alliances with the largest political and sectarian components in the country, enabling it to form a government of a "national majority", according to what was announced more than once previously.

Dang, I might start liking Al-Sadr. He’s making a lot of sense. And if he can lessen Iran’s influence in Iraq, I’ll like him better. I recall years ago, he came across as a radical person who hated America, He may still hate America but maybe he’s the one who can “nationalize” Iraq so the progress can go forward. 🙏🙏

Another reason, I am currently (don’t know if it’s going to last 🙄) impressed with Al Sadr’s rhetoric. He is saying Maliki won’t be a part of the newly formed government.  As long as Maliki has any influence, there will be chaos in Iraq imo. Why that dude is still walking around I’ll never know.

I believe there’s much for us to feel encouraged.

Yesterday, Monday, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, decided to open the candidacy door for those wishing to run for the position of President of the Republic of Iraq, at a time when the Kurdistan Democratic Party announced that the position of President of the Republic had been resolved, pointing to an agreement to present two candidates for the position by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, which will be resolved. One of them was within a very short time without any obstacles, while Washington welcomed the convening of the fifth session of the Iraqi parliament, expressing its hope that the new Iraqi government would be formed as soon as possible.
Run for the presidency
The statement stated, "It is required for nomination for the position of President of the Republic based on Article (1) of the law to be Iraqi by birth, of Iraqi parents, possess full capacity, have completed forty years of age, have a good reputation and political experience, and are known for their integrity, integrity, justice, and loyalty to the homeland." Likewise, he shall not have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, and shall not be covered by the provisions of the Accountability and Justice Law procedures, or any procedures that replace them.
Kurdish partisan agreement
On the other hand, Kurdistan Democratic Party deputy, Mahdi Karim, said that “the two parties, the Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, have agreed to nominate two personalities for the post of President of the Republic,” noting that “the two candidates were presented by the Patriotic Union,” one of which will be decided before the constitutional date. . He added that "the matter was resolved by the Kurdish blocs and with other blocs, such as the Progress bloc or the Sadrist movement," noting that "just as the Speaker and his two deputies were passed, the Kurdish candidate for the post of President of the Republic will be passed easily." He added that "the position of Prime Minister belongs to the Shiite component, and there is no objection to any figure of this component by the Kurds, or the Sunni component."
Washington to accelerate the formation of the government
In a related context, the US Embassy in Baghdad expressed its hope that Parliament would speed up the process of forming a new government. In a statement posted on Facebook, she added that the council "is an integral part of the Iraqi democratic process and national sovereignty." And she continued, "Given the important role that Iraq plays in regional stability and security, we share the hope that Iraq's leaders and the new parliament will begin to speed up the process of forming a new government so that it can carry out the important work of continuing to protect democracy and address the urgent challenges facing Iraq." and the region.” The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, also discussed with the US ambassador in Baghdad, Matthew Tueller, the file of forming the Iraqi government. Al-Araji's office said in a statement that they also discussed "the political and security situation at the regional and international levels, as well as the Al-Hol border camp file."
Meanwhile, the head of the "Al-Fatah" coalition, Hadi Al-Amiri, discussed with the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the political crisis in the country. Al-Amiri's office stated that "the two sides discussed the outcomes of the political process and finding appropriate solutions to it in light of the current differences." Al-Kazemi also met with the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and congratulated him on the occasion of renewing confidence in him to head the parliament in its fifth session.

Leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, yesterday warned rival Shia factions against resorting to threats or violence, amid tensions over forming the next government.

"We are proceeding with the formation of a national majority government, and our door is open to some of those whom we still have good faith," Al-Sadr, whose bloc won a majority of votes in the country's recent elections, said on Twitter.

He warned that he will not allow anyone, whoever they are, to threaten his partners or threaten civil peace.

"The next government is a government of law, in which there is no room for violation," he added.

Al-Sadr stressed that "there will be no return to sectarian fighting or violence, as the law will rule."

His remarks come a day after security official in the Hezbollah Brigades, Abu Ali Al-Askari, warned that the country will witness "difficult days".

On Sunday, the brigades announced their rejection of the outcomes of the first parliamentary session, during which Muhammad Al-Halbousi was voted speaker of the house, saying the session was "marred by legal violations".

Yep and Babylon (just southwest Bagdad about 60 miles) origins of dark religions you know like human sacrifice Satanic/Baal stuff.

Like I used to say the same about California (proud home of Bohemia Grove)

"Mixed bag of "NUTS"

Interesting comparison.

Lots of crazy DNA those Iraqi nuts.

More like the Crazle of Civilization😉

Maybe Sadr has it out for Maliki. He looks more like a hit man than a Holy man

He creeps me out with his pics

I have seen mug shots that look more holy than his photos

Hope there is truth that Sadr will keep Maliki out.

Hmmm.. Sounds like this is coming to a head as Iraq's version

of The Goat Bad and the Ugly.

Maliki has the dual role of the Bad and Ugly sowed up for sure.

Let's see if Sadr can come up as the" Good guy" here.

Others are welcome audition for the Good guy role. Where's  Ali-Clint Goatwood?
