In a statement, the commission said 77 other officials were summoned as part of investigations into corruption accusations. The statement said the list includes a current minister and former members of parliament, without giving any specific names. Iraq is among the most corrupt countries in the world, according to the Transparency International index over the past years. Iraq has been rocked by street protests since October 2019 over corruption and poor living conditions. Last year, Iraqi President, Barham Salih, said that $150 billion had been smuggled outside Iraq since 2003. 1

horsesoldier
$150 billion sounds low. Still, that’s a helluva lot of Spondoolies. Going with that amount: isn’t Ole Spuds worth about $66 Bazillion. Personally I’d begin asking a whole heap O questions of the Spud Meister. As a former “ asker of pertinent information of people “- I have my own questioning technique guaranteed to make people talk. I duct tape the person of interest to a chair, strap a hospital potty to his head, place his “ Jimmy “ between a Sesame Seed Hamburger Bun and yell “ Dinner Time Fido ! “ Oh yea, they’ll talk so much you’ll have to punch’em in the face to shut’em up !
NWGUY
Sadly it wasn't Maliki, just some low level offenders, that they can use to show they are doing something about corruption. If they really were going to do something about it, they should start at the top with Maliki! 1
