His Highness the Prime Minister announced the opening of the Abdali port next week to increase economic cooperation, trade exchange and movement between Kuwait and Iraq in accordance with health requirements.

Al-Khaled added, in statements on the sidelines of his inspection of the northern borders, that security is the fence of all issues, and the Ministry of Interior is the watchful eye on the security and stability of the country, and this will only be achieved through the development and modernization of capabilities and capabilities and continuous training to face any emergency or emerging event.

Al-Khaled toured the border security sector and the port security sector in the northern borders of the country.

Al-Khaled was briefed on a presentation on the tasks and work system at the border posts, the mechanism of linking the border posts and the operations room of the General Administration of Land Border Security. .

The Prime Minister watched a presentation of the mechanisms of the Special Security Forces and the Land Border Security, in addition to a visual presentation of the Special Forces' plan to address any disturbances.

   It's plausible that Kuwait holds mucho iqd ,at the pre rv/ri rate , like other countries . During negotiations concerning reparations ,Kuwait  would have shot themselves in the foot by agreeing to a low iqd rate. It would have a negative affect on oil trade as well . The rate will be higher than Kuwait 's . Also Kuwait's rate is really close to the iqd rate pre 2003

WOW!! This is some really good news! Just a few days ago we read that they have paid off their debt to Kuwait and now its announced that the port for trade between the two countries is going to be opened. Now if I'm from Kuwait and I trade with Iraq I'm not gonna be happy with giving them my high valued currency for a very small valued currency. It makes zero cents. Folks we might be at the final..... final...... stop of this long long long long ride!!

Remember Dr. Shabibi talked about the Iraqi Dinar being equal to or greater in value than the Kuwaiti Dinar when he ran the CBI.

And the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that the Kuwaiti Prime Minister announced the opening of the Abdali port next week to increase economic cooperation, trade exchange and movement between Kuwait and Iraq in accordance with health requirements.

The outlets clarify Kuwait's decision to reopen the Abdali port with Iraq
  
{Economic: Al Furat News} The Border Ports Authority clarified Kuwait's decision to reopen the {Abdali} land port with Iraq next week, after a months-long closure.

The Director General of the ports, Omar Al-Waeli, said in a press statement, "This port has an important economic and commercial importance between the two countries."
He added, "With regard to the Abdali port, it must be clarified in this regard that the Safwan border port and the port opposite it, which is the Abdali port, were closed in the third month (March) of the year 2020, when the Corona pandemic spread, and that was based on a decision by the two countries."
Al-Waeli indicated that "this decision will increase trade and economic cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq through this port," stressing that "this matter is welcomed by everyone."
Regarding the future importance of this port, Al-Waeli pointed out that "Kuwait has one land port with Iraq, and therefore there will be economic and commercial importance to increase work in this port now and in the future."
And Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sabah Al-Khaled announced yesterday, Thursday, the opening of the Abdali port (Safwan from the Iraqi side) with Iraq next week, in order to increase economic cooperation, trade exchange and movement between Kuwait and Iraq in accordance with health requirements.

Today, Monday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the Abdali border crossing with Iraq will be reopened on Wednesday

The Kuwaiti newspaper, "Al-Qabas", quoted a ministry statement as saying that "the border crossing will be opened daily, starting from eight in the morning until eight in the evening for entry, and throughout the day for exit."

And she added, "This step comes in coordination with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, after closing the port, with an emphasis on the need to adhere to and implement the necessary health preventive measures imposed by the Ministry of Health."

Shafaq News/ The General Authority of Customs in Iraq announced, on Wednesday, the reopening of a land port between Iraq and Kuwait for passenger traffic.

 

The authority said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "A mutual agreement between the two sides was implemented this morning, Wednesday, as a result of which the Iraqi Safwan port (Al-Abdali from the Kuwaiti side) was opened in front of the movement of travelers back and forth after it was closed to them due to the preventive measures taken by the two countries to confront the Corona pandemic. ".  

 

She added, "The opening of the port will bring great benefits to both sides, as it will reflect positively on increasing the trade exchange movement between the two countries and maximizing the volume of economic cooperation that was damaged after the closure due to the Corona pandemic."

Mubasher: The Iraqi Customs General Authority announced today, Wednesday, the reopening of the Iraqi Safwan and Kuwaiti Abdali ports to passenger traffic.

The authority said, in a statement, that the mutual agreement between the two sides was implemented this morning, Wednesday, as a result of which the Iraqi Safwan and Kuwaiti Abdali ports were opened to the movement of travelers back and forth after it was closed to them. Because of the preventive measures taken by the two countries to confront the Corona pandemic.

The Iraqi customs added, that the opening of the two ports will benefit both sides, as it will positively affect the increase in trade exchange between the two countries and the maximization of the volume of economic cooperation that was damaged after the closure due to the Corona pandemic.
