Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Oil Ministry said that the country's exports, excluding flows from Kurdistan Region, rose 1.3% on a monthly basis in October, amid an increase in the share of OPEC +.

Oil exports rose to 3.120 million barrels per day in October from 3.080 million barrels per day in September, according to oil ministry figures.

Iraq's share of OPEC + in October was 4.149 million barrels per day, up from 4.105 million barrels per day in September, and the share will rise to 4.193 million barrels per day in November.

Central and southern exports rose by 1.3% during the month to reach 3.012 million barrels per day in October, while Kirkuk oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan declined by 0.3% to 97,158 barrels per day during the same period, and trucked oil to Jordan rose by 9% to 9,992 b/y.

Iraq achieved $7.68 billion in October from selling its oil at an average price of $79.376 a barrel, compared to $6.77 billion at an average price of $73,328 a barrel in September.

Iraq struggled at the beginning of 2021 and most of 2020 to stick to its share amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the collapse in oil prices and the financial crisis sweeping the country.

OPEC and its allies have also gradually raised production quotas this year in anticipation of a rise in global demand for oil as the world continues to emerge from the epidemic.

Iraq is one of the five countries that has negotiated a higher baseline for its quota, which will rise from 4.653 million barrels per day until April 2022 to 4.803 million barrels per day in May 2022 onwards.

Good morning Yota, very much obliged sir :twothumbs:

Iraq's export of Crude oil is nothing other then astonashing, with so much more available just under the sand. They are begining to amas a fortune in crude sales which, IMO, will be tranfered into the Hydro Carbon Law  (HCL) This means that the partial  sale of this commodity will soon be in the hands of the Iraqi people.

It is very obvious to me that Iraq is in the beginnings of making itself a major contender in the global economy. OPEC is looking for 100usd per barrel, the stategic realese of supply anounced by world governments did not affect the price per barrel as they anticipated. What OPEC wants, OPEC gets 😉

Can you see what's on the near horizon DV?

 Reports

Economy News - Baghdad

An American report confirmed that Iraq faces challenges in implementing its plan to reach the production of eight million barrels of oil per day by 2027, stressing the need for more investment to deal with the expected increase in associated gas.

A report by the American "Platts" agency stated, "Iraq, which is the second largest oil producer in OPEC, still expresses high ambitions to double its oil production capacity to reach 8 million barrels per day by the year 2027."

The report added, "These ambitions come despite the uncertain future facing fossil fuels and the country's chronic political turmoil."

He pointed out that "a country that suffers from financial distress will require it, in order to achieve this goal, to attract unprecedented rates of foreign investment."

The report noted, "This comes at a time when many international oil companies, which are already uncomfortable with the financial conditions offered by Iraq over the years, are seeking to avoid risking their financial investments."

He explained, "In order to achieve this goal and ambition, Iraq will require it to allocate funds not only to enhance drilling work, but to expand the size of surface production facilities and export infrastructure, as well as significantly reduce the quantities of burning associated gas, which made Iraq one of the most polluted oil-producing countries."

Hussein Chalabi, a consultant in the oil field residing in London, does not believe that "the goal of reaching a production ceiling of 8 million barrels per day is technically realistic or achievable."

The report stated, "The National Energy Strategic Plan adopted by Iraq in 2013, according to which Iraq's production was now supposed to reach 9 million barrels per day."

However, "years of wars with ISIS worked to destroy the country's economy and destabilize its political stability, then the Corona virus epidemic came to crush oil prices, which prompted the OPEC countries and its allies to introduce cuts in their oil production in 2020 to achieve price stability."

The report emphasized that "the Iraqi production of crude oil during the month of October, including what was produced from the fields of the Kurdistan region, amounted to 4.17 million barrels per day."

And it is likely, "Iraq's production capacity of crude oil by 2027 will reach 4.72 million barrels per day, and it may eventually rise to 5.74 million barrels per day by 2040."

And the report quoted a section of Iraqi analysts as saying, "They believe that the country may be able to achieve a production rate of 6 million barrels per day by 2027, but this will depend largely on the prevailing policies, on OPEC production quotas, and other potential restrictions."

Observers find, according to the report, that "in order for Iraq to be able to introduce new basic investments, it must significantly improve its financial terms."

The report goes on, "The Ministry of Oil mainly depends on technical service contracts with foreign companies such as ExxonMobil, BP and Shell."

In contrast, the report stated, "International oil companies often prefer production partnership contracts, which allows them to calculate reserves according to their budgets to enhance their investment assessments."

And he continued, "Iraq witnessed Shell's departure from its investment in the Majnoon field, while ExxonMobil filed for arbitration to sell its stake in the West Qurna-1 field, and BP transformed its operations in the Rumaila field into a secondary company in accordance with its energy strategy."

And the report warned, that "Lukoil also sought to empty its share in the West Qurna-2 field before withdrawing its request in July."

Regardless of the terms of the financial contracts, the report says, "Many Western oil companies are now facing periodic pressure from shareholders to settle their accounts."

The report goes back to the advisor, Chalabi, and quotes him as "international oil companies are less attracted to new investments in their oil sector, and instead they are trying to commit themselves to sustainable development goals in order to redraw their investments."

On the other hand, the report talks about “a great environmental concern related to gas flaring, and according to the World Bank, Iraq burned in the year 2020 approximately 17.37 billion cubic meters of associated gas, which is the highest in the world after Russia.”

He stated, "Iraq plans to spend $3 billion annually to get rid of gas flaring by 2025."

And the report added, "The effort to increase crude oil production to 8 million barrels per day will increase the rates of associated gas emissions."

And the report went on, "This requires more investment in gas collection and processing plants, which in turn will consume additional oil imports."
