The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said in a statement seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, after his recent visit to Russia, asked the concerned authorities in Moscow to resume flights between the two sides."

For the purchase of five planes, the first plane will be delivered early next October." 

He added, "The airlines had previously concluded an agreement with the American Boeing Company in 2008 to purchase 30 aircraft, of which 14 were received, and 16 aircraft will be received next year in the form of batches," noting that "the company achieved an increase in the rates of flights and passengers during the past month of August, It is expected that a broader increase will be achieved during the last quarter of this year, in conjunction with the number of distinguished services provided by the national carrier and the re-operation of a number of lines that were suspended."

They will only accept the US Dollar none of these plane manufacturers will except the dinar whether they were international or not which it isn’t so the good ole dollar is what they will be paying in for these planes!!

A spokesman for the General Company for Iraqi Airways, Hussein Jalil, told Al-Sabah: "The company has prepared an integrated work program to develop the air freight sector with the aim of competing with international airlines that provide this type of services, as new spaces have been added that include refrigerated warehouses, yards and mechanisms of all kinds. different, as well as the introduction of modern technologies in the work, including the (SITA) system for receiving and sending notices of shipments to planes and stations in various countries of the world.
He added that "the development work also includes the adoption of the tracking system (PRS) for baggage services during the stages of shipment according to the electronic archiving mechanism and locating the shipment and not losing it", except for air freight "from the vital departments of the Iraqi Airways Company because it contributes to organizing the process of entering and removing goods ".
And Jalil indicated that "in this context, the company concluded a joint operation contract with a solid international airline approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), with the aim of activating the air freight activity in a broader way to include various countries of the world," revealing "the rise in air freight operations during the half The first of this year compared to previous years, despite the conditions of the Corona pandemic.
As part of the ongoing development efforts in the company, he explained that "the company has performed its offices in Baghdad and the governorates, in addition to developing the work of its counterpart outside the country, especially within the countries: the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Iran, Turkey and Egypt, by providing services and competitive offers throughout the year." It is noteworthy that the Iraqi government limited the entry of visitors and foreign arrivals during the Arbaeen visit by air exclusively, and also specified their numbers at 60,000 visitors from Iran and 30,000 from the Gulf and Arab countries, as part of strict preventive measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said, in a statement issued, today: "We inform our passengers and all airlines operating in Iraq that all Iraqi airports (Baghdad - Najaf Al Ashraf - Basra - Erbil - Sulaymaniyah) are closed."

And she stated, that the decision will take effect from 21:00 on October 9, 2021, until 06:00 on the 11th of the same month.

The Supreme Security Committee for Elections in Iraq announced the issuance of new directives related to the polling day regarding airports, ports and bicycles .

He added, "There is a big plan that the company is working on by opening new airlines, with regard to suspended lines, and we are awaiting directives from the higher authorities to resume these lines."

He continued, "As for the prices of Iraqi Airways tickets, they are the harmony of the Iraqi family, and there is a wide and great turnout by travelers on board the national carrier's planes."
