Director General of Iraqi Airways: Signs of lifting the European ban on our planes are very soon

The Iraqi Airways Company is preparing to resume flying over European airspace during the coming period, and while it receives at the end of this year two Boeing aircraft out of five contracted over the past years, it revealed a trend to reduce ticket prices. The European Union had banned Iraqi Airways in the year 2015. from flying over European airspace because it did not meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The spokesman for the company, Hussein Jalil, told Al-Sabah: "The discussions and negotiations are continuing with the Safa Organization, which is responsible for writing positive reports regarding air safety conditions and submitting them to the European Air Safety Organization," noting that "Iraqi Airways through technical committees. It is working to implement and implement international requirements and standards in order to remove it from the black list that includes preventing entry into European airspace.”

I work in Cincinnati but refurbish/repair jet engines ALL over the world.  So yes I too believe watching the airways tells us something.

Wasn't there some kind of dispute?  I know we picked up the repairs for them but didn't see many come through.

This kind of Commerce moving forward means international trade! It is not only taking people out of Country but bringing them in along with Cargo.... Someone has to pay for this.  I don't think that wheel barrows full of money is very convenient means of payment. But what do I know???

Iraq is discussing with an international organization to lift the European ban on its airlines

Baghdad Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Transport announced its discussions with IATA to lift the European ban imposed on Iraqi Airways. And the ministry stated in a statement received (Baghdad today), that "the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, discussed, today, at the ministry's headquarters with IATA, the issue of lifting the European ban imposed on Iraqi airlines, in the presence of the technical agent, Talib Baysh, and on behalf of the organization, the regional vice president of the organization and the accounts officer for the Africa region." and the Middle East and a number of experts in the organization ." The Minister of Transport, Nasser Al-Shibli, said, according to the statement, that "a contract was made with the organization and an agreement was made to submit recommendations to the airlines to implement them in order to meet the conditions that must be met by European airlines and to remove them from the European no-fly list ." The statement pointed out that "the minister directed the airline to show cooperation and coordination with the organization and to overcome obstacles, if any, for the return of Iraqi aviation to its ancient and previous position, as it is not an issue that concerns a specific party, but rather the issue of an entire country." For its part, IATA welcomed "the tangible cooperation shown by the Minister of Transport and the start of implementing the organization's recommendations to make the company qualified in accordance with European international regulations and conditions."
