The emergence of a new type of mutant "delta" .. Scientists reveal how dangerous it is

Shafaq News/ Recently, health reports in Britain continued about a new type of mutated "delta", amid questions about whether this development would confuse the efforts that have been made so far to contain the Corona pandemic.

The figures indicate that this new strain, known so far as "AY. 4.2", constitutes 6 percent of the new infections with the emerging coronavirus in the country.

Experts believe that this sub-mutant is more likely to spread between 10 and 15 percent compared to the original "delta" mutation, which was first detected in India, and then became dominant in most infections.

And the director of the Institute of Genetics at the University of London, Francois Ballou, explained that the nature of this new sub-mutant of corona makes it more transmissible.

In an analysis published on Twitter, the researcher explained that this new type of "delta" is perhaps the most capable of spreading to this day.

It is expected that the World Health Organization will initiate an investigation into this new type of "delta" mutant, in an effort to determine the existing risks.

In Britain, documents published on Tuesday revealed that health experts are currently monitoring this sub-mutant.

On Tuesday, Britain recorded 233 deaths from complications from "Covid-19", the highest number since the ninth of last March, but health experts did not link this increase to the new sub-mutator.

One of the positive things in Britain is that the proportion of "Covid-19" patients who have to be hospitalized is still much lower compared to what was recorded last year, and the credit for this improvement is attributed to the vaccination, which made the epidemic less deadly.

In the meantime, experts say it is unlikely that this sub-mutator will deteriorate the current epidemiological situation, or even turn back the clock.

The emergence of mutants, or their offshoots, is a natural and expected thing in virology, while the countries of the world are currently betting on coexisting with the epidemic, and immunizing people through vaccination, because eliminating infection once and for all does not seem verifiable.

The head of the Oxford University Vaccine Group, Andrew Pollard, said that it is really important that this sub-mutant be subject to monitoring, but that does not mean that it will replace “Delta”.

He added that the new sub-mutant is transmitted "well" between people who received the vaccination, and the most important thing is that it will not change our current epidemiological situation significantly.

More contagious than Delta... Fears of a new mutated strain in Russia

{International: Al Furat News} The Russian Information Agency revealed, on Thursday, the registration of some cases of a new mutated strain of the Corona virus, believed to be more contagious than the mutated Delta, according to what Reuters reported.

The agency quoted Kamil Khavizov, a senior researcher at a government agency, as saying that it is possible that the AY2.4 strain will spread widely.

This could cause a spike in new COVID-19 infections, which have already reached record levels in Russia

This week, President Vladimir Putin agreed to close workplaces for a week at the beginning of November, after daily deaths related to the Corona virus across Russia recorded on Wednesday a new record of 1,028, along with 34,073 new infections.

Since June, Russia has been facing an epidemic wave, which the authorities have failed to curb, due to the rapidly transmitting mutated delta, the slow vaccination campaign and the weak health restrictions imposed.

After a government meeting dedicated to the epidemic, Putin announced the granting of paid leave from October 30 to November 7 to residents in Russia to try to curb the deadly wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Russian President put forward the idea of starting the vacation period earlier or extending its duration, provided that each region takes the decision that suits it, according to what is required by the situation of the outbreak of the epidemic.

He also appealed to uncooperative Russians to get vaccinated.

"Please, be responsible. ... There are only two ways out of the (epidemic) period: Either we get sick or we get vaccinated," he said.

He described the low vaccination rate in Russia as "dangerous".

This is not going away. There will be another and then another.  The world is falling apart.  Find out who is releasing these virus and destroy their lives.

Solve that issue by not getting vaxed.

Another attempt at panicking the people

London-ALSHARQIYA October 24: British experts said that a new mutant of the Corona virus, which some call Delta Plus, may spread more easily than the normal Delta mutant. The British Health Security Agency transferred this mutant to the category of mutant that is subject to examination, to ensure its potential risks. Although the normal delta mutant is still responsible for most cases of Covid-19 in Britain, the cases of the delta plus mutant, or what is known as AY four point two, are on the increase.
