The Minister of Electricity will visit Iran soon and announce the date for the Gulf interconnection to enter service {Extended}

{Economic: Al Furat News} The Agency's Minister of Electricity, Adel Karim, announced the visit of the Islamic Republic of Iran soon, while revealing the date of the entry of the Gulf connection for service.

ball said; For the "State Dialogue" program, broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel on Wednesday evening, "The successive ministers did a lot, and we are not [Superman] to make a leap in improving energy," noting that "the production in energy increased after the fall 5 times, and for this reason I accepted the risk to work in the ministry and we reached a production that is The first of its kind in Iraq.
He added, "The ministry's five-year plan will soon present to the Council of Ministers a short-term plan for the beginning of next summer to increase power from 5-7 thousand megawatts, and within 3 years we will reach 15,000 megawatts, and within 5 years we will reach the edge of 50 thousand megawatts, and there will be a reserve, and the guarantee will support the state sectors." ".
He continued, "The intermediate plan includes reaching the edge of 35 thousand megawatts, and it is possible by providing support from the Ministry of Oil and a large budget and collecting levies, and we are on the edge of 21 thousand megawatts."
Karim said, "Paying levy amounts to only 8% of citizens and institutions, but levying will cause special problems for citizens with limited income." The ministry does not collect what is not worth 8 million dinars, and
pointed out that “Iraq needs huge sums to pay its dues for gas, and we may not need Iranian gas for many years to come if we raise production,” stressing “the necessity of keeping the electricity sector away from the bodies of economic parties.”
And the Minister of Electricity continued, "In some liberated areas, we lost $10 billion in the electricity sector, and the electricity budget was not allocated for the construction of stations," adding, "3900 megawatts is the amount of energy supplied in Iraq after the fall of the regime," stressing that "most of the additional electricity units are about to be completed."
Regarding the Gulf connection, Kariya explained: “We have advanced negotiations with the Gulf Interconnection Group to connect via Kuwait to Basra, first 500 megawatts and 200 in the next stage, and the amounts have been allocated, and it is hoped that the electrical connection with the Gulf will be completed next summer.
We also have a link with Turkey. We are waiting for operation and 3 connecting lines with Iran, and our negotiations are continuing with companies interested in producing solar energy, and the closest thing to connecting is the Gulf and Jordan."
He concluded, "In the field of energy, it is easier to work with the solar system and it can be implemented, and we have signed with giant French, Saudi, Emirati and Egyptian companies and a group of others, and we are on our way to an agreement."
And the Minister of Electricity noted, "there is an agreement with Iran to extend electric power for the next year, and Iraq will get 1,500 megawatts from Iranian transmission lines."
He explained, "In our meeting with the Iranian Oil Minister, they discussed the implementation of the agreement signed between the two countries, and there was a misunderstanding regarding this issue. All dues this year were paid in full, and it was agreed to divide the previous office into two batches. It is hoped that we will visit Iran soon to discuss the details, and we also have a proposal to extend the agreement." For more years after the terms of the agreement were restored by the two countries."
He attributed the reasons for the delay in paying Iran's gas dues to "the failure to approve the federal budget, and they understood Iraq's needs for Iranian gas, especially since 6500 megawatts of power stations in Iraq deal with Iranian gas."
Commenting on the explosion of the electric towers, the Minister of Electricity said, "171 towers were blown up throughout the provinces from Karbala to Diyala, Baghdad, Anbar, Mosul and Tikrit, and most of them were fatal and isolated an entire city from energy, and we do not know the parties behind the matter; but the Prime Minister made it clear that during the arrest of one of the princes Al-Qaeda has decided that there will be explosions of the energy towers at the beginning of the summer."
Karim went on to say "inevitable privatization process state trader failed The distribution of energy and the collection of funds from the private competence of the sector and its failure was a political campaign criticism of the broad privatization led to the withdrawal of companies.
There privatization of partial and we have well thought out plans Stantha days before the election will be applicable which is fully delivered zone sector Private for private companies for maintenance and collection.
He stressed, "The ministry's endeavor to divert the overhead electric wires to the underground," pointing out that "120,000 people were appointed in the previous government in light of great slack and their salaries were from collection, and the ministry suffered greatly from not providing these salaries, and their appointment was a mistake by previous governments."
He continued, "We are facing fear in the ministry about concluding contracts and some problems are suspended due to unnecessary problems, and the ministry's structure needs to be completely changed, and a new energy center was created and suggested reducing the number of directorates and merging some departments. We sought to create a control directorate, but our request was rejected."
The Minister of Electricity concluded, "Continuing to work with foreign invested companies, and we have an intention to change the equation regarding prices. The ministry deals with all companies, including Iranian, and it is very high-end for their fair prices and for their serious work, and I will not sign any contract of compliance or useless contract."

Moussa expected "the completion of the project within its first phase, which requires the transfer of 500 megawatts, in the summer of 2022."

The spokesman pointed out that "connecting with neighboring countries will give reliability and flexibility to the electrical network, given the diversification of energy sources and the achievement of maneuvering of the electricity network."

On the other hand, its spokesman confirmed that "the ministry was able, during the past three months, to provide citizens with energy for the whole of Iraq almost completely, except for some emergencies and technical accidents that occur from time to time," noting that "dealing with machines sometimes produces a type of problem quickly." What is treated by the angels."

Iraq is holding talks with Gulf countries, led by Saudi Arabia, to import electricity from them by linking its network to the Gulf system, after it had depended on Iran alone during the past years by importing 1,200 megawatts of energy.

Iraq also intends to import electricity from Jordan and Turkey, in an effort from Baghdad to fill the shortage until building power stations that are able to meet local consumption.

Iraq has been suffering from a chronic electricity shortage crisis for decades, as a result of the siege and successive wars; For many years, residents have protested against frequent power cuts, especially in the summer, when the temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius.

Iraq, which is facing a severe energy crisis, is holding talks with Saudi Arabia in order to purchase electric power, according to what the Iraqi Oil Minister, Ihsan Ismail, confirmed.
The Iraqi minister said Sunday, during a meeting with journalists, that "the dialogue with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf linkage are within the axis of securing and stabilizing the production of electric power." So far, the issue is under discussion.
He added: "There is a high response and coordination from the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and there is a desire to help Iraq."
He stated that the negotiations focus especially on the price, explaining, "We have received a price and we believe that it can be improved." He talked about several criteria related to how the price is determined, especially “the amount of electrical energy to be imported, and the duration of these imports, if they are over a period of 365 days, or six months during the period of summer and the height of winter.”
Iraq has huge reserves of oil and gas, and is the second largest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), but it is facing a severe energy crisis due to decades of war, corruption and deteriorating infrastructure, and suffers from rationing of the electric current, which increases discontent in the country.
It currently produces 15,000 megawatts of electricity, much less than the 30,000 megawatts it needs to meet its peak summer needs each year, according to the minister.
It is expected that the needs will increase in the future, in a country whose population the United Nations expects to double by the year 2050.
Iraq, with a population of 40 million, depends on Iran for about a third of its gas and electricity supplies, as the decline in its infrastructure prevents it from achieving energy independence. Iraq owes Iran $4 billion in gas supplies.
Iran has more than once cut off gas and electricity from Iraq to push it to pay its dues.
Iraq has also concluded agreements to start constructing electricity production plants through solar energy. He aspires to sign several contracts that will allow him to produce 7,500 megawatts by 2023, and 12,500 megawatts in the next phase, which is equivalent to more than 25% of the country's electricity needs, according to Minister Ismail.

Mubasher: The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced, today, Tuesday, the latest developments in the electrical connection with neighboring countries, and confirmed that most of the stations had stopped working due to the decline in Iranian gas supplied to Iraq.

And the ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, told the Iraqi News Agency "INA", "Discussions are continuing with the Iranian side, but Iran is asking for its dues, and accordingly the Ministry of Electricity announced its readiness to pay all dues, which will be deposited with the Credit Fund at TBI Bank."

Moussa added, "It was found that the Ministry of Finance must pay these amounts to Iran, so we ask them to pay the dues, because the decline in gas emissions in this way will affect the system and its impact is governed as it determines the loads of approximately 4000 megawatts, and this is a loss."

He pointed out that "the Ministry of Electricity worked to host production capacities estimated at 3000 megawatts between last year and this year and worked to strengthen the distribution sector," adding: "Today we have periodic maintenance and strategic projects that we need to provide funds to keep pace with."

He continued, "We have stations that are out of service because of fuel, and most of our stations are ready to operate, but we stopped due to the lack of gas," noting that "there is a five-year, annual and quarterly plan, all of which are operational, but we need financial allocations."

He pointed out that "there are dues from investors in favor of electricity that are not provided, and there are obstetric units that are under periodic maintenance that the ministry needs allocations for, and there is work to install cooling systems in stations that would add 750 megawatts."

He pointed out, "The ministry needs to keep pace with the demand to support the distribution sector, because the collection is insufficient, which provides only 8%, and therefore we need financial support in our favor."

And he added, "Earlier, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi instructed to provide financial allocations for electricity, and also instructed the Ministry of Oil to allocate funds for the Ministry of Electricity of 50 billion dinars, but only 6 billion were available from them, and therefore our ministry will not be able to keep pace with the demand," stressing "The most significant challenges are the gas supply, whose supply has declined from 50 million to 8 and a half million cubic meters."

On the linkage projects with neighboring countries, Moussa said, "The linkage projects with neighboring countries are in the past, with time rituals and specific commitments," noting that "discussions with the Gulf are continuing so far about the tariff price, and no agreement has been reached."

He added, "The ministry has work with Jordan and an electrical connection agreement," noting that "General Electric has started work."

He stressed, "All the technical linkages with Turkey have been completed by obtaining approvals in order to complete this file," noting that "the ministry has discussions with Saudi Arabia as well."
