The International Court of Justice decided to refer Nuri al-Maliki and his aides to the court on charges of genocide

wait a minute. hold on one second. this  " The International Court of Justice " is in country of Iraq, right? so if let's say,  Maliki gave a nice bribe to the judge behind closed door one week before, and then one week later, when the court begins, there are 2 scenarios:

1. ) Maliki just pretend to plead guilty and the judge just give one week in jail as a light punishment or

2.) Maliki plead not guilty for whatever reason and the judge just release him from all the chargers and Maliki is free to go.

this is Iraq we are talking about and the judge can be corrupt, too. who is dare to combat the corruption in the court of justice in country of Iraq? JMO

Maliki is the main reason we haven't seen a RV and progress has been held up! He was responsible for the US Solders being expelled from Iraq because he would not give not give our Solders immunity. All hell broke loose after that and he is loyal to Iran. If this is true this will be a major step towards progress in Iraq. Other than corruption, Iranian influence is the real problem in Iraq and Ole Tater Head is the number one puppet!! We need Al-Khdemi to win the elections and this clown in handcuffs and we may see things turn around for the better!!

Or, Maliki threatens the judge and/or his entire family…

Yep. That's what i had in mind, too Half Crazy Runner. Maliki is a corrupt and shrew politician and has a lot of monies and he already smuggled and hid his monies out of iraq country. He can do whatever he wants and he can pay ( bribe ) anybody, including the judge , to make sure the verdict is in his favor.

The International Court of Justice is part of the United Nations and The Hague.

The International Court of Justice, also known as the World Court, is the main judicial organ of the UN.

It was established in June 1945 by the Charter of the United Nations and began work in April 1946.

The seat of the Court is at the Peace Palace in The Hague (Netherlands). Of the six principal organs of the United Nations, it is the only one not located in New York (United States of America).

The Court’s role is to settle, in accordance with international law, legal disputes submitted to it by States and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies. The Court decides disputes between countries, based on the voluntary participation of the States concerned. If a State agrees to participate in a proceeding, it is obligated to comply with the Court’s decision.

Thanks for your input Carrello. I didn't know  before that the international court of justice is at the Hague because the article didn't mention the exact location of the international court of justice.
