On Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron, while affirming Iraq's aspiration to cooperate in issues of combating terrorism, economic and commercial cooperation, and working closely in the field of environmental protection and addressing the significant effects of climate change.

The media office of the President of the Republic stated, in a statement, that Saleh "received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad the French ambassador to Iraq Eric Chevalier."

And he added: “At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Eric Chevalier conveyed a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron to President Barham Salih, which included his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome he received during his recent visit to a number of Iraqi cities, and his appreciation for the efforts made by Iraq to support its security and internal stability and its tireless efforts to establish peace. In the region, and easing its tensions, he also stressed that France will remain an essential partner for Iraq through joint economic and political cooperation.

According to the statement: "President Barham Salih, through the ambassador, conveyed his greetings to President Macron, stressing Iraq's aspiration to strengthen and develop bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them towards more joint bilateral cooperation to serve the common interests of the two peoples, and work to establish peace in the region."

President Barham Salih stressed that "the balanced policy of Iraq is based on supporting its security and stability and restoring Iraq to its pivotal active role in the region, adding that Iraq looks forward to cooperation in issues of combating terrorism, economic and commercial cooperation, and close work in the field of environmental protection and addressing the significant effects of climate change."

Yesterday, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron.
A presidential statement stated that "Saleh received the French ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier, and the latter conveyed a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron, to Saleh, which included his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception during his recent visit to a number of Iraqi cities, and his appreciation for the efforts made by Iraq to support its security and internal stability." And his tireless efforts to establish peace in the region and ease its tensions, in which he affirmed that France will remain an essential partner for Iraq through joint economic and political cooperation.
He pointed out that "President Saleh conveyed, through the French ambassador, his greetings to Macron." Saleh stressed, according to the statement, "Iraq's aspiration to strengthen and develop bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them towards more joint bilateral cooperation to serve the common interests of the two peoples, and work to establish peace in the region."
And he indicated that "the balanced policy of Iraq is based on supporting its security and stability and restoring Iraq to its pivotal active role in the region," noting that "Iraq looks forward to cooperation in issues of combating terrorism, economic and commercial cooperation, and working closely in the field of environmental protection and addressing the significant effects of climate change."
