AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) – The Texas Secretary of State’s office announced on Thursday, September 23 it has begun a forensic audit of the 2020 election in three North Texas counties, Dallas, Tarrant and Collin along with Harris County.

In a statement sent to CBS 11, it said in part: Under existing Texas laws, the Secretary of State has the authority to conduct a full and comprehensive forensic audit. We anticipate the Legislature will provide funds for this purpose.

Full Text Of News Release From Texas Secretary Of State:

Under existing Texas laws, the Secretary of State has the authority to conduct a full and comprehensive forensic audit of any election and has already begun the process in Texas’ two largest Democrat counties and two largest Republican counties—Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, and Collin—for the 2020 election. We anticipate the Legislature will provide funds for this purpose.

Earlier in an open letter to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Former President Donald Trump has backed House Bill 16(PDF) that calls for a “review of the results of the 2020 general election.

“Bills to audit elections in your great state’s House and Senate were considered during Texas’ Second Special Session. Instead, the legislature passed a watered-down amendment that doesn’t even apply to the 2020 Presidential Election,” said President Trump. “This short amendment doesn’t answer the questions Texans have about the last election. Texans demand a real audit to completely address their concerns.”

President Trump endorsed Governor Abbott on June 1 of this year. “Greg Abbott is a fighter and a Great Governor for the incredible people of Texas. No Governor has done more to secure the Border and keep our communities safe than Governor Abbott,” said Trump back in June.

Abbott is up for re-election in 2022 and already has a primary opponent in former Texas Republican Senator Don Huffines and Retired Lt. Col. Allen West.

While the position of Texas Secretary of State is vacant, there is a Deputy Secretary of State who is acting as the interim. Governor Abbott will nominate someone to fill the role. Ruth Ruggero Hughs left at the end of May.

CBS 11 has reached out to the Secretary Of State’s Office inquiring who made the decision; when was the decision made; and why.  We have also reached out to the Governor’s Press Secretary, Renae Eze. We are awaiting a response back from both offices.

Lol they are now auditing a state Trump won! REALLY! REALLY! For real tell me why? What’s the point?

The same reason when you pay your taxes the IRS can decide to still audit you in case there was something funny going on when you paid your taxes. This is about election integrity. Because without it we have no Republic.

Well we had to have a Special Investigation for the Trump Victory in 2016 so what’s the big deal with auditing Texas.   Don’t you want honest elections.

If you read all the comments, in all the threads  that have anything to do about the elections and recounts, no side believes anything the other side says and all sources are BS . It's really very telling.

Yeah, I noticed when I Googled AZ Election Results, every article was supporting Biden.  Very telling, nothing objective about any of the articles.  Do you remember when the reporter would remain neutral and give evidence for both sides of the subject?

Yes. I was very young and and even then there was a hint of reporters leaning more one way or the other. But nothing like it is today. With so many so called "information sources" with so much so called " inside or confirmed information" it's hard to believe anything anyone says.  Just to many reporters/ influencers pushing there agendas trying to make everyone see the world through their eyes by manipulating the information and intrprering it to fit their narrative. Both sides.

It’s no more a waste than the 50 million that was spent on Russia, Russia Russia.

No one trusts the voting process anymore.  When the GOP wins the Dems cry and when the Dems win the Reps cry.   It’s only a matter of time before all elections are run on the Blockchain, probably ALGORAND.   That will stop all the illegal activities.

I've noticed the MSM has a habit of using unnamed sources and/or confidential sources, perhaps we should look at those with a grain of salt and rely on the ones that have named sources that we can rely on?

What source of news has been honest and actually has had any constant and credible follow up events happen? Meaning some sources say ( for example) secret military action is happening  but yet nothing ever occurs. There are many other examples out there.  I swear people dramatize the news and make crap up so they can get likes on YouTube or get more followers on Twitter. On TV the MSM does it for raises and better prime time reporting slots. I really have to look at everything and decide what might be factual and what is propaganda.  That's hard to do. Just my opinion

Try OANN - One American News Network or Rightside broadcasting.

Newsmax contributed millions to Hillarious and the rest are owned by just 5 guys...

The Gateway Pundit has a great path record.

Mike Rivera's "What Really Happened site is great too.

Mike and his wife Clair have articles from many sources and one can get an overview of a lot of information.

Hope it helps.
