Postal Service issues stamps of Pope Francis' visit to Iraq (photos)

The Ministry of Communications announced the issuance of a postage stamp for Pope Francis' visit to Iraq and his meeting with the religious authority, Ali al-Sistani.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Communications, Raad al-Mashhadani, said that the General Postal and Savings Company issued another postage stamp for his visit to the historical city of Ur, as this visit embodied the concepts of Peaceful coexistence and love between religions inside and outside Iraq. This came to be issued within the company’s annual plan for 2021. It should be noted that this stamp will be part of the issuance of (commemorative) stamps, which are issued in several denominations with a value of (500, 750 and 1000) dinars, with a quantity of (5000) stamps, and a card in the denomination of (1500 and 5000) ) ..

On Monday, the Ministry of Communications issued the stamps of Pope Francis' visit to Iraq.  

  

  

 

  

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Communications, Raad al-Mashhadani, said in a statement that “Nass” received a copy of it, (September 20, 2021), that “the General Postal and Savings Company issued a postage stamp for Pope Francis’ visit to Iraq, and his meeting with the religious authority Ali al-Sistani, and another stamp for his visit to Iraq. The historical city of Ur, as this visit embodied in highlighting the concepts of peaceful coexistence and love between religions inside and outside Iraq.  

She added, "This came to be issued within the company's annual plan for 2021, and according to the directives of the Minister of Communications, Arkan Shehab Ahmed Al-Shaibani, and the Director General of the General Postal and Savings Company, Idris Khaled, in commemorating the visit of important figures to our dear country."  

She pointed out that "this stamp will be part of the issuance of (commemorative) stamps, which are issued in several denominations with a value of (500, 750 and 1000) dinars, with a quantity of (5000) stamps, and a card in the category (1500 and 5000), and the stamp was designed by the designer Saad Ghazi. Yesterday, Monday, the Ministry of Communications issued postage stamps related to Pope Francis' visit to Iraq and his meeting with the supreme religious authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani.

The Ministry's spokesman, Raad al-Mashhadani, said in a statement: "The General Postal and Savings Company issued a postage stamp for Pope Francis' visit to Iraq, and his meeting with the religious authority Ali al-Sistani, and another stamp for his visit to the historic city of Ur, as this visit embodied the concepts of coexistence. Peace and love between religions inside and outside Iraq. And he indicated, "This issuance came within the company's annual plan for 2021, and according to the directives of the Minister of Communications and the Director General of the General Postal and Savings Company to commemorate the visit of important figures to the country." 

Al-Mashhadani pointed out that "this stamp will be within the issuance of (commemorative) stamps, which are issued in several denominations with a value of 500, 750 and 1000 dinars, with a quantity of 5000 stamps, and a card in the denominations of 1500 and 5000," indicating that "the stamp was designed by the designer Saad Ghazi, It was printed at the General Postal and Savings Company’s press, and the edition will be marketed by the company’s offices and the amateurs office.”
