Shafaq News/ Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, described on Sunday the stage before and after the legislative elections as "the most dangerous" for Iraq.

This came during his meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Baghdad Ulric Shannon, Head of the Political Department Colin Lake, and Diyar Al-Khayat, Advisor for Political and Media Affairs.

Al-Kaabi said during the meeting, that the next stage is among the most dangerous stages that the country is going through, and we must succeed in this pioneering democratic experiment throughout the region, which has an international desire to achieve, and this transformation depends on the level of awareness and belief in this type of government, whether for the individual, the party or the political system As a whole, and even the international community, which is able to make or break the experiment.”

Al-Kaabi called on the international community to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of democratic concepts in all countries of the world, as it is the only regime capable of ending dictatorship, violence and extremism, stressing that Iraq is currently seeking to develop its relations with Canada and all countries of the world and to build these relations on the basis of common interests and the welfare of peoples.
