yota691
Recession invades Iraq's largest market (photos) 2021-08-02 07:28 Shafaq News / The accumulation of economic and security crises in general, the Corona pandemic and the devaluation of the dinar against the dollar in particular, led to a real shopping crisis, in Al-Shorja market in the center of the capital, Baghdad, which is the "largest commercial area" in Iraq. Al-Shorja market is one of the largest and oldest markets in Baghdad, and its construction dates back to the Abbasid era, about 800 years ago. The market contains several pavilions, and each pavilion or street in it is specialized for a specific commodity, which was food and perfumes, or clothes for both sexes and of different ages, in addition to stationery, toys, electrical appliances and equipment, and others. Shafaq News Agency, toured Al-Shorja market, and met a number of shop owners there, and about the recession that befell the market, one of them said that "the market in general is going through a major shopping crisis, as the percentage of shopping has fallen during the past two months to 8%," he said. As for the owners of the stalls, they fell into the same depression, as the owner of a stall for selling clothes told Shafaq News Agency, "The demand for purchase is weak, especially after the worsening of the Corona crisis during the current period." Regarding wholesale sales, electrical appliance dealers in Al-Shorja market saw that they are witnessing a very weak purchase rate, and even the provinces that were preparing from the market in Baghdad, their capabilities declined and their presence decreased.
