VIVA – Researchers have not found a specific drug to treat COVID-19. Although several drugs have become part of patient therapy, the best way to recover from COVID-19 symptoms is proper nutrition. What are some?

For COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms, they are allowed to undergo independent isolation (isoman). In addition to monitoring oxygen saturation, it is recommended to include healthy and nutritious foods in your diet.

By increasing immunity through good nutrition, it is hoped that the body will recover quickly from the symptoms of COVID-19. So, what are the sources of nutrition that should be consumed? The following summary is quoted from The Health Site page.

Increase Protein Intake

What are the benefits of protein for the body? It actually helps the body rebuild all the muscles and also repairs the damaged cells. Therefore, you should add more protein to your meal.

Here's some food advice from the experts: fish, lean meats, bananas, nuts and seeds, legumes, eggs, and beans. This protein-rich food is also a great source of omega 3 fatty acids which also support your body's metabolism and promote gut health.

Add Some Nuts

Nuts have some amazing health benefits that everyone should know about, and especially when you have COVID-19. Adding some nuts or whole seeds like flaxseeds, chia seeds, and sunflower seeds can help your body get a good meal. It also adds calories which can help in strengthening the immune system.

Add Some Soy-Based Food

One good source of protein is soybeans. A person who is a vegetarian can also add soy to their diet and help their body recover the muscle loss that occurs once the coronavirus enters the body. Add soy milk (unsweetened), soybeans, or tempeh to your diet every day because these foods can help heal and recover faster after COVID-19.

Add Some Vegetables

Apart from adding protein and calories to your diet, when you test positive for the coronavirus, never forget to add more vegetables to your diet. Expand vegetables such as lettuce, cucumber, spinach, pumpkin, beans.

Also, consume these fresh vegetables in the form of boiled or soup as it will not kill the nutrients of the vegetables. Also, add fresh fruit. Adding fresh fruit and vegetables that are rich in essential vitamins and antioxidants can help your body strengthen its immune system to fight off deadly viruses like COVID-19. Some fruits that you can consider adding are lemons, oranges, mangoes.

Things You Can't Forget

Well, it's not just what you eat, how much you eat also matters. Reduce your salt and sugar intake as they can cause spikes in sugar levels or blood pressure levels which can hinder the recovery process. Also, consume more vitamins in your diet, these can be vitamins C, A, and D. Add less seasoning, oil to your diet and try to eat more boiled foods than fried ones.

I would respectfully disagree on whether they have found a specific drug to treat CV-19.

2 come to mind that work very well but have been poo pood from the start.

Also all those foods are great if you have an appetite while you are sick. I did not want to eat anything for a week. Even coffee, lost 10 pounds. And for a diabetic most of those foods are a deal breaker when it comes to carbs or sugar.
