Even after a decade plus of reading the Iraqi news I cant recall if this is normal. From what I can tell from google this holiday is technically only Monday and Tuesday next week so why are they shutting down for the whole week?

I’ve often wondered, are these holiday shut downs just the government or is everything closed? Is it like the equivalent of say, Martin Luther King Jr. holiday where banks are closed and you don’t get your mail, or more like Christmas where everything shuts down?

One knows you can serve God and not have to be on holiday to do it.

They should really try it.

Maybe they think that if they have enough holidays good will prevail.

So messed up.

Or, all there holidays get double pay.

Abu Dhabi market

Mahmoud Jamal - Mubasher:  Stock markets in the Middle East are preparing in the sessions after the Eid al-Adha holiday to attract more liquidity, coinciding with an expected increase in investor appetite and grabbing positions in the shares of listed companies whose prices are still low and on the way to rise, amid the end of the dispute between the OPEC Plus countries over production quotas oil.

And last Sunday, the “OPEC +” alliance announced the extension of the oil production agreement until the end of 2022 instead of next April, with the approval of increasing production by 400,000 barrels per day every month starting from next August, and during the alliance meeting it was decided to raise the baseline The production of OPEC + from 43.8 to 45.5 million barrels per day as of May 2022.

It was also agreed to gradually increase production, starting next August, with raising the production baseline for Saudi Arabia and Russia by 500,000 barrels each, from the level of 11 to 11.5 million barrels per day as of May 2022.

At the end of the session before the Eid al-Adha holiday last Sunday, the performance of the financial markets in the region varied, as the two stock exchanges in the UAE stabilized, while the Egyptian stock exchange rebounded thanks to the leading stocks. Trading in the stock markets is usually quiet before the holiday, as some dealers liquidate shares and are generally cautious in anticipation. For any developments in global markets during the closure of the region's stock exchanges.

Analysts told "Mubasher Information", that the post-Eid al-Adha phase and after the holiday, which extends for about a week in most of the region's stock exchanges, should focus on solvency stocks, to which strong liquidity is also heading, and global markets and the movement of oil must be followed up after an agreement OPEC and caution against stocks affected by this issue, in addition to following up on new developments regarding the Renaissance Dam and the reflection of changes in some bodies supervising financial markets, especially in the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

Those wishing to invest

For his part, Mohamed Saeed, a financial market analyst, told Mubasher Information that one of the most important factors that will determine the destination of those wishing to invest in the stock markets after Eid Al-Adha is choosing the appropriate sectors for investment, which are most sectors that witness a buying momentum and a high positive flow of liquidity, and their shares maintain news Positive contribute to enhancing its performance, explaining that the best sectors in the short term are the non-bank financial services sector, real estate and the banking sector.

He advised choosing stocks with an upward trend, with good and stable financial performance, and which are expected to continue growing business results, while he advised, in return, to stay away from stocks whose prices achieved large and exaggerated price spikes due to the high degree of risk they carry. He expected the Egyptian market to confirm the bullish trend and to continue achieving new levels above the current resistance level.

upward trend

In turn, Mohamed Gaballah, Head of Business Development and Strategy at Pioneers Securities Trading Company, believes that  the main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange has surpassed the violent resistance located at the level of 10,400 points, a reason to head to the Egyptian market because it has become in an upward trend in the short term. In preparation for its repercussions in the medium term, he pointed out that the most appropriate sectors currently are the petrochemicals sector, the housing sector and the securities sector. In his opinion, he stressed that the crisis of the Renaissance Dam is on its way to a solution, pointing out that wherever there is stability, there is investment, and that is why the market rises.

Purchasing centers

For her part, Hanan Ramses, an economist with the "Freedom Securities Brokerage Company", told "Mubasher Information", that the  best sectors in the current period, with the approaching Eid al-Adha holiday and the cessation of most Arab markets from trading, differ from market to market, as the Egyptian Stock Exchange The banking sector returned to the top of the scene, supported by the performance of institutions and their formation of purchasing positions in many leading stocks, followed by the construction sector and the cement sector stocks, which had been stagnant during the past three years, then the real estate sector due to the Central Bank’s initiative to finance middle and low-income housing, in addition to the entry of Egypt as a major partner in Reconstruction plan for many Arab countries, most notably Libya.

She pointed out that among these sectors is also the pharmaceutical and health care sector, amid expectations of successive mergers and acquisitions, noting that after the return of the Gulf countries to organize international exhibitions, the tourism and entertainment sector became the forerunner of the scene.

For his part, Mohamed Hassan, Managing Director of Bloom Egypt for Financial Investments, expected, to “Mubasher Information”, the continuation of investors’ appetite to buy various stocks, which may help to continue the positive performance of the markets during the period after the Eid holiday, after the situation improved due to the Corona crisis. In addition to the significant improvement in corporate profits, which prompted the markets to recover and the traders' desire for the leading stocks trended.

He pointed out that the most prominent sectors expected to rise during the coming period are the real estate sector, banks, financial services, tourism and the health sector.

He advised investors to increase positions, especially after the main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange crossed the 10,800-point level, and to be careful in this area because it is a major resistance area and the market may reap profits in this area, which may provide an opportunity to increase positions.

Investors' attention

In turn, Doaa Zeidan, a financial market expert at Tycoon Securities Brokerage, explained to “Mubasher Information” that  the market has witnessed a collective movement in many stocks in the past period, and the attention of the majority of investors is directed towards the results of the companies’ business, evaluating their financial strength and distribution of profits, and the formation of various investment portfolios, especially In the shares of the industrial sector and tourism with the return of life to normal, in addition to some shares of food and pharmaceutical companies, in which we are anticipating acquisition deals. She emphasized that the investor should diversify his investments in forming an investment portfolio with less risk in those sectors.

suitable choice

For his part, Hossam Eid, investment manager at International Securities Brokerage Company, pointed out that one of the important factors to determine the destination of those wishing to invest in the stock markets in the period after the Eid holiday is to choose the appropriate financial market, which is in the stage of decline and profit-taking because price levels are often very low and are There is a very strong opportunity to achieve significant gains and then choose the most active sectors in the market in terms of the volume of implementation and the strength of its financial and technical performance.

He stressed that financial centers should be opened with financially strong stocks that achieve high business results and profits and thus reflect positively on their performance in the stock exchange. In return, the invested money should not be pumped entirely in speculative stocks and quick trading because it has a high risk.

positive news

In turn, Mina Rafik, director of research at Al-Marwa Securities Brokerage Company, expected that the  stock markets would resume their gains after the Eid holiday, especially the Egyptian Stock Exchange, with positive news circulating, including the return of Russian tourism after an interruption of about 6 years, which attracts investors in Investment in the tourism sector, as well as the decision of the Competition Protection Authority to reduce the production of cement companies, which was welcomed by companies in the sector due to what companies suffered in the past period from the weak volume of demand compared to the volume of production.

He explained that among these factors is also the recovery index launched by the Ministry of Planning to monitor the recovery of sectors after the Corona crisis, which recorded positive indicators and even showed greater growth rates before the pandemic in several sectors, most notably communications, gas, construction and construction, as well as the statement of the Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics Which showed the decline of the trade deficit as a result of a strong rise in pharmaceutical and food exports. All these factors encourage investors in the stock market to invest in these sectors.

economic improvement

For her part, Asmaa Ahmed, market analyst at Bait Al-Mal Consulting Company, confirmed to "Mubasher Information" that the  period before the Eid al-Adha holiday is characterized by weakness and low trading volumes, as investors tend to reduce purchasing positions to provide liquidity in anticipation of any sudden event that may occur. During the holiday, he pointed out that there are several factors, including expectations of an increase in demand during the second half of the year for oil, which will, in turn, reflect the improvement of the global economy and expectations of high economic growth and stability and control of Corona cases around the world, especially with the emergence of the mutated Delta virus and the progress of the vaccine process well.

She stressed that if he does not find anything new in these previous factors, the positivity will prevail over the financial markets during the period after the holiday, expecting that the petrochemical and banking sectors in the Saudi Stock Exchange will achieve significant increases, especially with the rise in oil prices and the improvement in demand, which is positive for petrochemical companies.
