sxsess
Wow I didn’t realize US citizens could actually fly to Baghdad. I saw this warning about Iraq on Wikitravel when pricing a flight to Dubai. Pretty scary! WARNING: The political situation in Iraq remains extremely unstable, even though the war was officially declared as over in December 2017. Travelling there remains extremely dangerous and strongly discouraged. All foreigners are still in danger of kidnapping, murder, and general armed violence. Although the northeast provinces which comprise Iraqi Kurdistan can be considered relativelysafe for foreigners, the margins for errors are small. Sporadic violence can occur anywhere in the country. Tensions have risen especially in the beginning of 2020, with many Western countries recommending its citizens leave immediately due to the threat of a war breaking out or spilling over at any moment. If you must travel, then remain cautious at all times, and consult your embassy before you leave. For further information, see war zone safety.

I wouldn't put to much into this Travel Warning....Seems more so to put people off that again Iraq is in a State of Term ole like a few of the Guru's are preaching all of the Sudden. Making Claims it could still be years away before Iraq can do anything. Do a search of Yoda's post about Iraqi High Rise Apartments, The Grande Port of Faw, $100 Million Dollar Steel Plant, they just increased the number of Visa's and the term Limits for these Visa's as well as lowing the cost of the Visa......This was done die to the Amount of Foreign Workers coming in from around the World to Build Iraq. GE, Siemens, Deawoo and some 40 other Companies from around the World. Iraq Arrears to be a lot further along in a lot of areas than the GOI would have Dinar Investor Believe. Iraq was once a safe haven and tourist destination for film makers and the Holliweird Types and that is where they are headed....Back to their Glory Days. Eventhough foreign companies around the world came to build iraq, and the question is why did the cbi never rv the iqd instead of devaluing the iqd from 1190 to 1460 back in december 2020? As I understand the Devaluation was to get the Iraqi People to exchange their 3 Zero Notes for American Dollars to get the Large notes out of Circulation. Was said to be a 60-90 day deal but has gone on way to long now. Karsten

May be iraqi citizens prefer hide their dinar under the mattress instead of exchanging dinar for dollars in the bank. And dinar holders / investors out of iraq country don't want to exchange dinar for dollars before rv comes, right.

Right.....We want to wait for them to go International and have a positive Value to their Currency. The Average Iraqi Does Not trust Banks and so they keep the Dinar at home.
